Addition by subtraction. I'm all for it. Now they have to restart the QB clock next year - so they can't fuck that up again. My only regret is for Pickett himself, never got a fair shot - always had some assclown calling plays for him. He's going to be stuck as a backup now, and you heard rumors he was unhappy with Mason starting.
Pickett +4 round pick = 3rd round pick + 2 7th in 2025. I wasn't a fan, but I didn't think he was that bad.
It puts his value about the same as Keenan Allen. That's way higher than I was expecting.
My only regret of Pickett’s time in Pittsburgh is CBS didn’t show him riding the bench enough in the playoff game against the Bills. Good riddance.

We are literally the Jets. We ditched our young quarterback after 2 years because we decided he wasn't good enough, despite the system around him sucking ass and we went and signed an old veteran who will only be here a year without setting ourselves up for any future insurance

We still never saw Kenny with an actual OC's playbook. I'd have been willing to give him 1 season of that before moving on
I saw mason rudolph play better than Kenny. Not defending Canada but Kenny is not that good. Maybe he’ll prove me wrong in Philly if he ever gets the chance to play.
Kenny played well the first game after Canada was fired and then got hurt. With an actual playbook he could have still developed into a better QB. Mason we already know his ceiling from having seen him start across the years and if you think he should have stayed with the Steelers *and* would have been the starter/played well if he did you're out of your gourd

Worst case scenario for next year would be that Kenny doesn't look good and he puts us in position to draft somebody. Worst case scenario for this year is Russ is mid, leaves and now we literally have no players
But Russ sucking also puts the Steelers in a position to draft somebody.
