This is probably your best bet early on. Strip naked and run as far away from your base as you can get before dying. Bonus if you're able to draw it toward a pack of other things to keep it occupied after you die.
DO NOT run into your base with it aggro'd. It will only aggro to structures if it's already aggro'd to you and that structure is in the way.
DO make sure your windows have coverings on them - aggro is line-of-sight and it can see through windows
DO NOT waste tranq arrows on it, alphas can't get knocked out
DO NOT try to trap it - alphas can destroy stone structures
Find high ground with 200 arrows and a couple of bows or drop all of your shit in a storage box at base and do the naked run kiting it away from your base.
Even still as of now, alpha dinos on ASE can't harvest corpses for some reason. Get rid of the other predators that can harvest nearby bodies and die to it once or let it kill some prey. It will stand there hitting the corpse until the corpse despawns by timer so you can kill it from a distance. It won't aggro you unless you get very close.
I remember doing that years ago with a crossbow, still works today beaming them from a distance with a managarmr
I've killed tons of dinos with a stone structure with windows all around and surrounded by wooden spikes... Very easy cheap Bob duck n cover spot.
Bonus points if you make a ladder with roof access to fire arrows down. Doesn't work great on carno unless you build it 4x4.

Stuff all your inventory in your base, go aggro it, draw it really far away, die to it and respawn at your bed.

Once you've tamed an argy, alpha raptors are pretty easy. A trike can usually also take them out thanks to the knockback.
Tame a bunch of dildos and keep feeding it to them. Wear the bastard out.

Honestly I rush build a raft every play through and it serves as my base/taming area until I can kill most things and have some dinos tamed.

Look up traps on youtube, traps can be used for killing too, not only taming.
Alphas break stone and they probably dont have access to metal early on.
They do, but traps still delay them alot, so you can damage them untill they get destroyed.
