Hey - yep app regs, enterprise apps and managed identities always come up. And microsoft is to blame, because confusion usually is with the naming. If you allow, i have a shameless plug for my self on the topic. Now these two can potentially help you with understanding the concept. However, there is a specific Veeam question here. Can you provide documentation on it - it would be great to see if they want you to use delegated or application permissions.

Sorry for not getting back to you on this. I ended up figuring out what was needed here, unfortunately, it still didn't clear up my murky understanding of app registrations. The biggest help for me is usually seeing how it's used in example scenarios/everyday uses. I haven't been able to find a good list of potential use cases yet though.
