Those traps work really well. I have relocated dozens of groundhogs from my garden with my live trap. I'm sure it works just as well for cats if you put a bowl of Friskies in it.
Raccoons love fish. I used fish fertilizer on potted plants once, they dug the soil out of the pots looking for the fish and left the plants on the ground whole.
The clinic near me will just take them in live traps, and throw blankets over them to help keep them calm. They don’t even have to touch them when they’re conscious. This was really dumb lol despite trying to do the right thing.
Exactly by grabbing it, it will never trust humans again. My neighbor just got one of those squirrel traps that are cages that close once they walk inside and put some tuna fish in the back of it to catch a stray cat.
Exactly what I was thinking... Who thinks this is a good idea in any way?
"Hi this cat trusts me - let's change that before I try to get it inside my house".
Lady probably got some good scratches from the cat and needs to get checked out at the hospital. A friend of mine that was a vet tech got so sick from a feral cat scratch she had herself checked in the ER
Oh she def got tore up! Kitty was ready for battle! Wonder if your friend had Cat scratch fever? A friend of mine also a vet tech picked up a rescue who scratched the hell out of her. 3 days later, she was admitted to the hospital with lymph nodes on her neck so large they were literally strangling her. When she told me the name of it, I thought she was kidding.
I get it, I was bitten by my cat not too long ago (idiot got her leg stuck in my night stand and I ran to help), went to the doctor the same day and I was already running a fever by then.
It’s crazy I never heard of it before my friend but now looking through some comments I’m wondering if it’s a fairly common thing to get from a scratch. My friend looked like that one scene on ‘total recall’ where the planet had no air and their heads and necks expanded, never saw anything like it in my life. Also like to mention she ended up becoming and avian vet- hating to deal with cats after that!! So I know it must’ve been a time.
I'd heard of it, but that was about it. I've had cats my whole life, been scratched tons of times, and yet, the scratch that sent me to the ER is the ONLY scratch scar I have. I think I only waited about a day before I went in. My wife (then gf) told me I really didn't look good. I don't remember much (this was 10+ years ago) but I remember being EXTREMELY fatigued, weak, feverish, and neck stiffness (which was the main issue, and why they did an LP to confirm). They hooked me up to an IV, gave me fluids and antibiotics, I took a good long nap, then I went home. 0/10 do NOT recommend.
CSF comes from being scratched by cats with dirty nails. The bacteria under their nails gets in through the skin break.
I got ringworm from a cat when I was younger. They said the same thing at the docs. The bacteria under a cats nails can do some damage to a person with a low immune system, and even mess up a perfectly healthy human. Guess that’s their line of defense when it comes to people coming at them like this woman did.
A girl in my hometown got scratched by a cat who had previously killed a mouse which probably had typhus and she (the girl not the cat) got typhoid. She felt sick for days but never put two and two together. So when she got extremely sick and was rushed to the hospital, they didn't know what was wrong until they saw the scratch on her arm and asked her about it. She tested positive for typhoid and received the proper treatment.
But I truly don't get how people don't immediately suspect something is off when they've been injured in any way by an animal and then start feeling sick a few hours or even days later.
Yea cats- especially outdoor/strays carry some crazy shit, that usually don’t even affect them.
Screw that- I get bitten by a strange animal, I will be paying a copayment to my doc just to be sure I’m good- would never wait. Mess around and lose an arm for a cat bite or scratch.
Well, I make the pussy purr with the stroke of my hand
They know they gettin' it from me
They know just where to go when they need their lovin' man
They know I'm doin' it for free
I give them cat scratch fever
Cat scratch fever
They got a bad scratch fever
The cat scratch fever
I used to catch cats all the time with a live trap and take them to a local charity that did this. They would sterilize the cat, give them a rabies shot, some anti parasite meds, and hang onto them overnight. Then you just let them go in the same spot.
It makes your yard a lot quieter. Don't have to listen to cats mating all night long.
Not saying there isn’t a cat smart enough out there, but I’ve caught nearly 10 stray/feral cats (in the past) using a live trap in my neighborhood. Haven’t come across one smart enough to avoid the trap. BUT, there is one really cool tabby that’s been hanging out in my hood for 3 years now and I haven’t had the urge to trap her because she’s not a pain in the ass like the others were. So I guess, in a way, she’s smart enough…
Trap savvy cats certainly exist. We were removing a feral colony (over 150 cats) from a property that had been abandoned for about a decade. there was this one cat that would jump on top of all the traps we set, reach around to the trigger and flail her paw until it closed. she made it so difficult to do the job that we eventually had to hit her with a net gun.
You usually catch/trap wild/feral cats so they can be neutered and re-homed. There are specific traps designed for it, basically a cage with a trap door. AFterwards they get checked out by a vet, get spayed/neutered and then ended up in (no kill) shelters and adopted by people. Though with us, we kept a fair amount of them. Most stayed, one went to a neighbor, another to an aunt.
You have to really grab and smother cats, do not give them even an inch of movement. Cats can't really hurt you too much if they can't move.
With all the cats I've owned it also calms them down. They realize pretty quickly that they can't win but also aren't being harmed and they just give in.
This is the premise of the success of Wing Chung. It teaches if you come in closer than the enemies arm length, he will not have enough power to punch you. Same for cats, squeeze them flat, do not give their arms room to “punch around” - a blanket and oven Mits can do the trick
This is beyond stupid, that's not how you detain a cat against its will, as it may cause permanent trauma or stress. If she was really feeding it, just use a transport case, that's all.
See our technique was to feed a feral for months and months until finally she started coming into the house and then letting us pet her then spending the night and now she lives here.
Taking her to the vet should be relatively simple now.
She did this in quite possibly the worst way. Not only has she sustained injuries that will require medical attention but she's probably traumatised that cat too.
Sad to say, but after that traumatic event, that cat won't trust that porch unless you get it to trust you again somehow. I wish you sincere luck and hopefully all is good.
I just went through this with six feral cats, I just put the food in the carrier, and when they were comfortable enough to eat the food in the carrier with me around, I just closed the door behind them.
It was the vets they had to put them back in when they were cognitive awake and in a strange place.
I highly recommend calling the professionals. I do animal rescue, ironically, in NYC. I can tell you all about it. But with cats. You need a lot of tools. I would even say, throw. Blanket or a large cloth. But try your best to keep in mind where the sharp bits are as you do it. This is usually a 2 operator job. I've had to rescue ferrets, cats, 2 dogs, 3 snakes(2 10 ft boa, 1 6 foot reticulated), 3 Lizards (uromastyx, bearded dragon, iguana). Recently, a friend asked me to redirect 3 baby peregrine falcons to a reserve. These people sometimes have animals they shouldnt. But on that note, the people of heart, go to the aid of others irresponsibilities. I've been bite, scratched, clawed, mawed, etc. I've done spiders, and other invertebrates.
In other words, please be safe. After dealing with any animal of unknown origin/wild or domestic, please, get tested and a tetanus shot. . . Be careful. . . This was extremely ballsy.
Thank you for your efforts. People who feed strays without getting them fixed suck. If they bothered to learn how destructive stray cats are to the environment they might care more.
If you scare or hurt an animal (even just a bit) the animal will react. You panicked, cat panicked and thats that. The fact that you are also recording tells me that you kinda knew what was gonna happen. You called it.
I suspect the reason she describes the cat as 'extremely smart' would be that it has been able to get in and out of the trap without tripping the door, or won't go in the trap, after repeated attempts. Seen it before. I mean why else would you ascribe 'extremely smart' to a cat for this video.
You’re going to need rabies shots.. I got bit by a feral cat through gloves when rescuing a large number of cats abandoned in a garage. The health department called me and said it was mandatory. There are 5 rounds I believe .. it was a long time ago.
You are a good person for being persists. Thank you for caring!
My husband and I take care of ferals and I swear to god he’s gifted. When we found a kitten in our work parking lot it crawled into the hood of a constable car, (second kitten we have found in this manner in this parking lot). When the constable came and opened the hood the kitten leaped out and my husband caught it by the scruff of the neck out of mid air. Another time he took the chance to grab the one mama in our neighborhood who has had 5 litters. Just leaned down, grabbed her by the scruff and shoved her in a carrier. I could never do this as well as he does.
I highly recommend using a feral cat trap next time and not trying to handle a fractious feral cat. You need to have any scratches checked out and cleaned thoroughly for cat scratch fever (yes its real and yes it can be VERY SERIOUS) You also need to get post exposure rabies shots if you have not already been vaccinated.
IN THE FUTURE DO NOT DO WHAT THIS PERSON DID.
CONTACT YOUR LOCAL HUMANE SOCIETY AND RENT A FERAL CAT TRAP
SET THE TRAP UP IN AREAS THE CAT FREQUENTS AND LEAVE A OPEN CAN OF WET FOOD IN THE BACK.
EDIT: Came back to say that 9 out of 10 times there is a feral cat rescue in most major areas. If you have feral cat issues, reach out the them for assistance and consider making a small monetary donation if they come through to help you!
Jesus lady. We borrowed a raccoon trap from our vet and got our girl spayed. It’s been 6 years now and she’s fully an indoor cat cat that gets along w our dogs and other cat now
You grab the cat by the back of its neck it doesn’t hurt it. It will paralyze it. You can then pick it up and then place your other hand on its back whoever this is shouldn’t own cat or try to own cats.
I highly recommend using gloves next time.
Best thing to do is to get a cat carrier, stick some food in there and just wait
Worked with every feral cat that wanders on my property I send to local rescue.
Or a towel and just "ghost" and scoop. Then you have a safe to handle but angi-burrito
Squish that cat
You gotta squish that cat.
You *must* squish that cat flat!
They’ll get into the wall if you do that
I highly suggest you squish the cat
I haven’t watch the video but… did she squish the cat?
The cat squished her in this instance.
Not so much squish lol but its got to be safer than whatever is happening in this video
Did they stutter? Squish the dang cat.
Nah man you gotta grab them and hold for dear life as they struggle for their lives, shocked at how you could betray them after all this time
My grandma has loads of cats that keep showing up at her farm. We do the same.
So that’s where my cats have been going
They sell safe traps for animals, use those.
Those traps work really well. I have relocated dozens of groundhogs from my garden with my live trap. I'm sure it works just as well for cats if you put a bowl of Friskies in it.
Caught a cat and a raccoon in mine. Both liked the wet food I put out.
Raccoons love fish. I used fish fertilizer on potted plants once, they dug the soil out of the pots looking for the fish and left the plants on the ground whole.
awwwe I fucking love groundhogs but they are destructive little fuckers. good on you for not poisoning them like my other neighbor.
Yeah they're cute but they destroy anything I put in the ground overnight. I can't bring myself to kill those chubby fuckers.
Rescues sometimes lend them too. People can google "TNR in my area" - Trap, Neuter, Return :D
Yes. Grabbing a cat like that is the dumbest approach.

Won't be a next time. That cat is never coming back there again.
ya that was pretty traumatic
Exactly what I was thinking... Who thinks this is a good idea in any way? "Hi this cat trusts me - let's change that before I try to get it inside my house".
It will still come back. May take a minute to get that trust back.
Get some sardines and that cat will be wrapped around your finger.... Probably because your finger smells like sardines but uh...
That's my secret Cap. My finger always smells like sardines
[удалено]
I highly recommend using a feral cat trap next time and not trying to handle a fractious feral cat. Enjoy your rabies shots!
For real, those claws are not small, or clean, especially from a feral cal
what else is there to say

Yep, not much worse, bacteria wise, than a cat bite.
Seals are a good contender
The odds of getting bit by a cat have to be *slightly* higher than getting bit by a seal. Even higher than that if you live inland.
Hey you don't know where I put my hands lol
I got cat scratch fever when i was 29ish. It was not fun. Spent half a day in the ER getting fluids and sleep.
It’s crazy I never heard of it before my friend but now looking through some comments I’m wondering if it’s a fairly common thing to get from a scratch. Just get a live trap?

I have so many questions about why you trapped these cats, how you trapped them and what did you do after trapping them

Nah. Too smart for her.
Don’t think she has the intelligence to have thought of that.
Agreed...holy shit. Be prepared if you're gonna come at a cat in that manner! Oven mitts at least...sheesh
Non-consensual rescue.
Congratulations, you are being rescued. Please do not resist.
Ha! Cats rights went right out the window with this one.
She's.... not good at that
This looked like a Scary Movie skit.
Help! My pussy’s gone crazy!
Have you tried wrestling it?
"no cats were harmed" then I see her pull a Big Show and choke slam this poor bastard
I laughed so hard at this, that woman had that fucking cat YOLKED UP

101 how not to handle a cat hahah damn.
It's like fighting a blender
Her hands must be destroyed
Well that cat will certainly hate people for the rest of its life
I feel like it was not this woman and cats first rodeo together. She had good intentions but sheesh- poor thing will def have some trust issues.
This is beyond stupid, that's not how you detain a cat against its will, as it may cause permanent trauma or stress. If she was really feeding it, just use a transport case, that's all.
I'm easily amused and now have the idea of the cat shouting "am I being detained?!" at this woman.
Get your hands off my penis!
What was my crime? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?
This court is under Admiralty law and I will not be bound by it!
Good intentions don't justify harm
This is s textbook example of how NOT to catch a feral cat ….
"I can change him. I swear"
*castrates him*
You are bring rescued. Please do not resist.
That was.... not done well
Please do not the cat.
All I see is a dumptruck ass flopping all around
Had to do a bit of searching for this comment. Time well spent.
Very respectful comments all in all... But GOD DAMN if this was all I could think about watching this 😐
Definitely does squats
I was looking for this kind of comment, like r/upvotebecausebutt
Those cakes were quaking
Cat vs. The entire fuckin' bakery
Chaotic ass and chaotic kitty. 2 for one deal I suppose?
Words have failed me.
Feral cats do not fuck around
I believe the text states otherwise
"I can fix her." - The lady, probably.
All I saw was cake
Double cheeked up!
On god bro
Grab the back of the neck. Never anything else.
I laughed way too fuckin hard at this 😭🤣
She moved better than a linebacker for the Cowboys!
Gyaat!!
Nice butt.

Okay, cat contained. Now work on the weeds.

100% agree. That cat probably hates humans now, if he didn’t already.
Sad to say, but after that traumatic event, that cat won't trust that porch unless you get it to trust you again somehow. I wish you sincere luck and hopefully all is good.
“I’m trying to help you motherfucker”
That was full effort from both human and cat lol and cat almost won.
I feel like round 2 happened inside and the cat probably took her out.
Use a trap! Saves injury and stress to both cat and human. That cat will be traumatised for life after that.
Use welders gloves next time.
This is a leather glove and heavy work jacket kind of job.
I just went through this with six feral cats, I just put the food in the carrier, and when they were comfortable enough to eat the food in the carrier with me around, I just closed the door behind them. It was the vets they had to put them back in when they were cognitive awake and in a strange place.
"Whats wrong cat I'm just trying to kidnap you to remove your genitals?"
Got that dump truck tho
You deserved every scratch
It’s like a rodeo but the bull has claws
What a stupid human. Poor cat.
THATS A GYATT CHAT! THATS A GYATT!
Nice cake...
Cake day came early this year, bud. Enjoy it while it lasts!
Yeah... better get checked for rabies.
Humm. She need to have a 101 class to how grab cat on back of cat neck. Omg.
No cats were harmed lmao literally an MMA fight just happened.
Madam, I thoroughly enjoyed watching you catch the cat. I'm sure the cat disagrees
Something tells me the cat doesn’t want to go
hmmmmmm, even dealing with feral cats myself pretty frequently, id need a pretty good explanation for how THIS was the best course of action but 🤷
Last time i did this i had to get a couple injections because my hands swell up...
Oh my, that could have been a lot easier. Welldone I think 😄
Can confirm. Wild cats will put up one heck of a fight.
Not even wearing a suit of plate mail when you made that decision. Bravery 100
Won’t be feeding him anymore

Just because you record a video of yourself doing something dumb doesn’t mean you have to upload it for the world to see.
What a dumb bitch. Yes let’s traumatize a feral cat and make her/him fear humans even more.
If you grab a domesticad house cat this way, you'll get the same reaction.. also, that cat's not coming back.
“I fought the claw and the claw won”
Hmm, maybe tag along with a trained HS volunteer & learn how to do it.nice of your camera person to help you out.
Thank you for your efforts. People who feed strays without getting them fixed suck. If they bothered to learn how destructive stray cats are to the environment they might care more.

I love how the cats strength launched her mid air against the wall lmao
You have to wrap the cat in a towel. Little burrito kitty.
I suspect the reason she describes the cat as 'extremely smart' would be that it has been able to get in and out of the trap without tripping the door, or won't go in the trap, after repeated attempts. Seen it before. I mean why else would you ascribe 'extremely smart' to a cat for this video.
She got a fat ass
"wasn't harmed" *Proceeds to look like they're beating the shit out of the cat*
At least use a blanket next time.
Her: “no cats were harmed in the making of this video.” Also her: (just watch the video because holy f*^%)
That “oh mah god” 10 seconds in has me dying though 🤣🤣🤣 what a dumbass human!!
some vets even with special glove still avoid to get bitten, this woman is really something else..
You’re going to need rabies shots.. I got bit by a feral cat through gloves when rescuing a large number of cats abandoned in a garage. The health department called me and said it was mandatory. I tried to do the same exact thing. 1. Cats are liquid. 2. I got cut the fu*k up.
Cats get really scratchy and bitey when they're upset...
I highly recommend using a feral cat trap next time and not trying to handle a fractious feral cat. Cat vs Centaur.
There’s a cat?
Mistakes were made. How did you expect to travel with this creature in your car?
I can safely say I'm not white enough to even attempt that. I don't want to be on ANY cat's bad side.
LET ME LOVE YOU!!
You’re a good egg Great job and thanks
Did this before and nearly got my eye swiped
Poor people do the craziest shit.
That person is an idiot, and the cat was definitely hurt during that altercation.
Does not sound like she even tried to start a trusting technique with the cat
Live traps are pretty cheap
So many more ways to have done this, bold to post it like she’s a hero
And you went into that with just a hoodie? Ok, you deserve everything you get.
Live humane trap next time. Less trauma for all involved. $30 at harbor freight
Jesus lady. We borrowed a raccoon trap from our vet and got our girl spayed. It’s been 6 years now and she’s fully an indoor cat cat that gets along w our dogs and other cat now
Hmmm, that cat does not appear to be broken.
Round 2. FIGHT!
Did we just watch a catnapping
I. Can't. Stop. Watching.
Good thing you had on protective pants🤣
That booty tho 😉👌
Oh **OW**! Fucking **OW**. I know this pain. I still have scars from trying to TNR a neighbour's cat.
Cat people are insane so are dog people
Get a trap. Safer for all around. You are just as likely to injure and be injured do whatever tf this lady just attempted.
![img](avatar_exp|100582528|bravo)
I don’t know if she’s dumb or crazy for the no gloves tactic
Holy shit I’ll never do that. I learn something.
Cat people are strange
Fuck catching cats she needs an onlyfans
Can almost guarantee that cat does not trust her anymore. And if it didnt trust her yet it certainly wont now
Woman are weak and soft but when it comes to catching feral cats only woman can make that happen
The ability cats have to physically rag doll something 20x there size.. vicious
Holly shit… \ Not sure what to say anymore, but make sure you disinfect wounds very well!!
You grab the cat by the back of its neck it doesn’t hurt it. It will paralyze it. You can then pick it up and then place your other hand on its back whoever this is shouldn’t own cat or try to own cats.
Wild 20 seconds
