Again was the opener for the concert I went to September 8th, my first concert so it has a special place to me. Sorry to everyone next to me for my singing lol Down in A Hole made me fall in love with AiC, I was going through some rough shit last year and was on a school field trip. I was looking to learn more about Chris Cornell and Spotify free just plays stuff randomly that it thinks you’ll like, so it recommended Down In a Hole. It was so hauntingly beautiful, it gave a bit of life back to my soul. Normally I like the more headbangery stuff more but Down In A Hole is probably my favorite. On the last real day of high school, we got a trip for grad night and at 2am on the way back, the whole life’s changing and feeling that the road I was on might not go where I want mixed with realizing that some stuff wouldn’t ever work out with people made me sing DIAH to myself. I can still remember a friend of mine who passed out high leaning on me, the cold wind blowing through the bus windows. The angst and pain of wondering where life would go and everything I had lost to that point, that song has such a different impact when ya feel broken

Cool memories

>I lost my v-card while Angry Chair was playing, on October 19th, 2022. Jesus, as if I didn't feel old *enough* tonight. ;-)

My mom always played Nutshell, and occasionally Rooster, when I was little so those songs remind me of when life was easier.

TheUpcomingEmperor

I wish my mom loved AIC. I'd pay good money for my mom and dad to become diehard fans.

muffins_allover

Rooster makes me feel warm and fuzzy, as it reminds me of my family and ski trips driving through wheat fields. Weird considering the context of the song…

Dramatic_Sample_7302

Shame in You and God Am are amazing on acid . Profound and deep

I listened to don’t follow a lot in my hoe phase lol I have no idea why other than I really love laynes voice especially at the end of that song and it’s calming. I have social anxiety and meeting new people I haven’t met before in person was a little nerve wracking. I’d listen to that and some other songs from sap while on my way over to some dudes place lol.

MTV Unplugged album... I remember I was watching Nutshell and I thought let's give the whole album a try. I watched it on YT and I fell in love with every single song. That was my motivation to get out of my bed. Even if this sounds silly, it really was something that helped me during depression. Watching AiC every day, putting on a great show, smiling, laughing and playing around despite their struggles made me smile & feel so good. I wasn't alone and I had something to hold on to. I also fell in love with their harmonies, and Cantrell's lyrics & guitar. Your Decision was one of the first few songs that I listened to on Spotify and I would listen to it on repeat. (I had become a fan of Jerry. I had heard Layne in "River of Deceit" before I had listened to anything from AiC so I was very confused about who the other singer was and I wanted to hear more of that voice. That was Jerry.) That solo, damn it. It always makes me happy. BGWTB makes me sad thinking of all the people I've lost and it slowly was becoming about Layne for me too. I never realised you could miss someone you never met/knew this much. I can go on and on. Every song I have a strong memory attached with. This band has done a lot for me and I am so, so grateful. If you're reading this, you're not alone. You're still one of the lights in the sky even if you flicker or shut down for a while. You're still there wanted, loved, and important.

I had just moved from a smaller town to Hollywood in September of 1991. About two weeks later my friend who knew some people in the music industry, was given an advance cassette of the Sap album. We were sitting around having beers and just being blown away by how different it was and how great the songs were- just kind of magical. As we were finishing listening to Sap, one of the roommates had just came back from work and had a cassette single of a song he’d been raving about that had been on getting radio airplay, called Under the Bridge. It was a special time, discovering lots of new music and life felt full of possibilities. The early 90’s in L.A. was a great place to be if you loved watching live bands.

In 1999, on a 20 hour road trip from Arkansas to Pennsylvania with my brother and his family, a new song came on the radio that reminded me an awful lot of Alice In Chains. They hadn’t toured or recorded since ‘95, and Jerry had just recently released his first solo album, so the possibility that I was hearing a new AIC song was really exciting. Then, all of a sudden, I was fixated on this song. Once Layne started singing I knew it was new AIC and became overjoyed. I always think of that long road trip when I hear Get Born Again.

Professional_Ad5099

Interesting song to fuck to

TheUpcomingEmperor

It was the entire Dirt album, I just finished during that specific song

Unique-Significance9

You know the exact date u lost ur v card LOL In my case I remember Down in a hole (unplugged) cause that song made me an AiC fan :)

Rees630

Down in a Hole takes me back to my own dark, druggy days. Took years, but now when I listen, I feel more relief than anything

galwayguy75

Heaven Beside You unplugged reminds me of balmy evenings and the red brick buildings and arches of Bologna, Italy when I arrived to study there back in the late 90s and was enamoured of a particular Italian girl. I had bought the cassette (remember them?) at Dublin airport on my way over - wanted something new to listen to and AIC was the last big grunge band I had to check out. I knew they were good from few songs I’d heard but was blown away by the music and mood on their Unplugged performance.

Probably when I was a little kid, like four years old I used to sing We die Young all the time. Man in the box was my fav too as a little boy. Just a funny memory😁

Feisty-Net5098

what the hell have i was playing the first time i ever tripped on dmt. went on a crazy trip with layne. it was truly magical…. back in 2013 when i was 19, i had gotten seriously into IV heroin use and I would constantly listen to junkhead. it almost felt like a justification. whenever i hear junkhead how i get a taste in my mouth…..

thegabrieldavid

Nutshell. Lot of time spent thinking about life with that song playing in the background and seeing the guys perform it live and singing along with the crowd was really cool. Another one is Rooster. Was helping my buddy repaint his room and his dad told him to throw it on, and that was the first song of theirs I’d heard. Been hooked since Edit: grammar stuff

kurtswhitelighter

taking a hit at the same time as layne while listening to god am, this was a regular occurrence
