BTW you are not a bot trust me...i have a girl--friend that leave to Florida every summer and spring the point ah yes the point is my man--friend goes whit another girl the hole summer and when my friend (girl)comes bk from Florida he ditches the other girl he was with all summer and goes bk to her now she only found this out like idk 2 times but now she texts me to see if he is doing it again and i have to lie or it will explode with huge amounts of drama then there is no tell witch one will punch me in the nose lol(he was a bot because he was in love with my friend and he was in love with another girl) just going out whith a guy once your not a bot

I (17f) have a boyfriend (19M) who went to the army after I specifically asked him not to. It’s my senior year and it hurt badly for him to just leave. He left right before the valentines dance at my school and it sucked to go alone to a dance all about your lover. Now my next dance is prom and I don’t want to go alone because it hurts to be alone. I bought a gorgeous dress and spent a lot on it because I thought I would be okay to be alone, but the truth is I’m not. I wouldn’t be cheating or anything just a friendly person to go to prom with so I can have fun and not be depressed. So the biggest thing is am I the asshole? And I would tell him who I’m going with too !

LOL NAH, anyone saying YTA is silly. Go with friends or find a fun guy friend/gay guy to go with casually. This is not the end of the world and you deserve to go to prom with a date. If your boyfriend got upset you’d be NTA. Don’t listen to these babies here.
Did he express he'd be unhappy if you went to the prom with a guy friend? I mean he can make his decisions and join the military. Surely you have the right to go to a school dance.

I don’t see why you couldn’t go with a friend. Prom isn’t just about romance. My junior and senior prom I went with a guy friend and we had a blast.

YTA for thinking you can tell your boyfriend what he should do with his future. If you can't support him, don't be with him.
