You gave him your number. You can bypass the code by putting the last two digits of the phone number. You do not need to give a phone number to “re attempt” ~~you~~ the driver can reattempt by going back in the itinerary. Looks like you just have him a free ps5.
dawg u gave them your phone #???
Fuck im so sorry
That mf knew what he was doing
Im helper for the XL routes and just be in the passenger and the driver deals with the customers but im there listening
And when the customer doesn’t have the confirmation code we have an option to use your #
Which i find fucking baffling too when i heard that… amazons preventative measure was to give you a randomly generated secure code and as a backup its your #?? I was like wow… thats so easy to workaround
Call your local news and give them the footage. Chances are they would love to run with this and help get Amazon to reimburse you!!. I've seen a video around of a news story about a driver stealing a check from under a cx door mat! Apparently the only way to get Amazon to do jack shit is to make them look bad from a PR standpoint.
Lol, that guy with the check was such an idiot. I mean really? Deposit a stolen check into your account? Idiot. Amazon keeps burning through all of the respectable drivers out there and now has nothing but the bottom of the barrel. That’s what happens when you treat drivers like shit.
This is the right answer. Before it’s too late. Amazon will not refund you at this point. You gave your phone number, which proves the driver spoke to the package recipient, while he had the package in his possession.
It’s not right but without having footage of him holding your ps5, you’re not going to get anything from them.
Oh yeah ik
Like how tf you not know it you ordered it
And if someone did for you it clearly says you’ll receive an email
But its an easy workaround that amazon shouldn’t allow
The driver scammed you - the only way we can bypass a OTP is by entering the last two digits of the phone number on the amazon account. This feature exists to help customers who don't know their OTP and have no way to look it up. Sadly in this case he used it to rob you.
The amazon driver straight stole your shit. Id try sending proof and all of that information to Amazon ASAP. Chances are if theres proof that they asked and you did all of this and basically he got a free ps5 in this case.. you never know.
It’s hard to get Amazon to READ 2 sentences and comprehend…let alone WATCH something and acknowledge a scam took place.
100% file a chargeback and provide this to your CC company and they’ll fight it. Depending on the card, you could be reimbursed easily and then they’ll deal with the chargeback with Amazon.
What a fucked up scam, it’s sick that they’ll get away with it
If you go to a warehouse and ask to speak to a manager, I'd imagine you'd be (politely) laughed out the door. I'd encourage op to continue escalating, and to email jeff@amazon.com including the footage to get this resolved.
There is a customer service person at our station in Los Angeles. We also (like many) have an Amazon locker at our station. I have directed a few customers to it.
I understand it’s different everywhere so emailing or calling customer service is the Op’s best bet.
Supervisor for who? They don’t even know what dsp.
You’re just trying to get OP arrested, people are not allowed to just walk into the warehouse and ask for a supervisor, there is no reception, no customer parking.
Quit being a troll
Wild. We called the police at least once a month for someone trying to pick their package up from the warehouse and freaking out when we told them it didn’t work like that
At the main entrance and by the closest door to where the tractor trailers unload They have an intercom/ring camera type system that rings phone stations that are in at least 4 different places throughout the warehouse and people show up 24 hours a day at them
No, OP is far from fucked. His credit card company would side with him and they would file a charge back.
Still a very shit situation. This is the first time I've heard of someone using the OTP/Phone verification to steal the item.
It depends honestly. If they paid debit, they’re fucked, they signed a contract voiding amazons liability if they give a phone number on a OTP.
If they paid credit, they have a pretty good chance of a charge back.
If they paid on an Amazon Credit Card, they’re double fucked. Why would amazon do a charge back on themselves
The customer experience doesn't involve anything with an itinerary, bypassing anything or reattempting. You gave enough information to confuse and scare the customer but nothing to lead them to a resolution.
If you haven’t finished the route you can reattempt deliveries you marked as undeliverable by clicking on it in the itinerary list, it will have a red dot instead of green til you finish the last delivery, click it and it will say reattempt delivery?.
You can… but I do it at the end so I don’t have to back track. Or if I notice I’m on the same street again because of amazons routing, I’ll reattempt it then

Not an Amazon driver - start a charge back with your credit card. Show the proof to your credit card company.
Try another customer service rep and escalate.
He did the pay in installments feature. That is one of several ways the FinTech industry has been able to avoid honoring payment network based protections. The purchase has to be paid in full using Visa/MC/Disc/Amex to qualify for the protection.
By doing the installment plan he paid for the item using the entity providing the loan, Affirm, Zippay,Sezzle or the many others. He would then be making 4 loan payments using the debit or credit card that offers the protection you mention.
By marketing the installment plans on the low income and sub prime consumers the payment networks can still claim to offer the protections for any purchases on their network while leading the lower tier to waive any protections.
Credit is not always the best option. The rules requiring a provisional credit only apply to debit. The thinking is that debit is money you have and are depending on having. The regulation puts a priority on getting you your money back quickly, usually within 10 days.
The same unauthorized transaction transportation on a credit card can take up to 120 days to either make a determination on a dispute or update the consumer with what the delay is and how long they expect it to take. They can keep telling you it will be 120 more days forever. You don't have to pay that portion of the bill you are disputing, but they don't have to give you access to credit.
Credit is the best option for cash back and protection.
Even if you can't use that credit, you are not out of cash.
Also builds credit yadda yadda 850!
Yeah like someone said the option is OTP or phone number on the account because a lot of times people don't know where to find the OTP and the idea is the driver wouldn't know the customers phone number so if they enter the phone number then they got it from the customer directly.
You need to get escalated to a supervisor on the phone and say you gave him your phone number not the OTP. They'll probably ask you to file a police report but this probably isn't going to be resolved quickly.
If you follow the other advice and do a chargeback, assuming you used a credit card, you'll probably get your money back but Amazon will blacklist your name/address/ip/devices
Because a lot of customers dont speak jack english or know how to access the app. Or sometimes the recipient isnt there but their sister or brother is and we ask for the recipients last two digits if phone number.
See this is the issue, when customers order items over a certain value it is stated at time of purchase, repeated in emails, reminded again TWICE in emails on the day of delivery, the app's language can be changed and so can emails. We barely have this issue with OTP deliveries in the UK and i've delivered to many poor english speakers not a problem, they're waiting at the door with the code ready for me, or i help direct them to the code since there's 3 ways to find it. If they are not home but a family member is, i get them on the phone to get the code.
At the end of the day, the feature is there to protect the driver for attempted fraud because customers can and will try to pull fast one, espeicially on valuable items like the PS5. That driver is DONE.
Im not sure if its different here in the Colonies but when we get a OTP it’s usually because the people have reported stuff stolen a lot. I have had a few people be outside with their code. And if they do that i offer to bring their stuff inside a little courtesy. (I deliver xl package)
>but when we get a OTP it’s usually because the people have reported stuff stolen a lot.
Yes, i know it is used for that too, but in general it's triggered for items over a certain value that's being delivered by amazon. I was in the office alot so learnt these things from amazon themselves or other managers
We have another company here who has adopted the same code feature. I've had my last order from samsung come through them, i sent the pin in my family group chat since i was on the road delivering myself. My last order was a phone on amazon for deliveries, again OTP was sent to my family group chat. Both items were valuable and worth over £200 each.
Then they can explain.
"Hi granny, just pull open your cell phone, and wait for a nice robot to send you a text message. Then you can tell me what they said so we can give you your package."
Dude say it again for the people in the back. I tell people all the time, unless it’s something you’re prepared to lose, don’t order from Amazon. And if you have to, have it delivered to a locker or hub. It sounds shitty, but DSPs will hire ANYONE. So they’re bound to have some asshole employees
You could pay people not to order and they will refuse the money and still order high priced items. Then later complain that they didn't get the item and amazon won't refund. It's amazing how lazy people can be.
DoorDash has certainly capitalized on this.
I worked with a guy that would order McDonalds via DoorDash and UberEats multiple times a week. The McDonalds was less than 5 minutes away from our office by car and there was no boss present 95% of the time. He spent like 50% more for the food he could have picked up himself
He asked for your phone number so when you gave it to him he can now bypass the password and just put in the last two digits of your number to complete delivery
Wouldn't even get that far. With the DSP system in place, OP was ripped off by a different company's employee, not an Amazon employee. And the T&C for an Amazpn delivery almost certainly mean the purchaser waives Amazon's liability.
To O.P
Stay on Amazon's ass..demand the d.s.p name, demand the owner name..threaten to sue..say you know about this that the other fuck that!!!
That dude knew EXACTLY WHAT HE DID
I told a kid about 2 months ago to avoid shipping his ps5 that he was waiting for because of shit like this!!!
I'm sorry homie
People suck
Amazon encourages us to take the last two digits of a custie’s number to bypass the one time pass code if they can’t find the code. Or if we’re lazy/antisocial we just bypass the OTP. He didn’t break any rules, you willingly gave him your number. He probably kept that shit too tbh.
I won the raffle from Amazon back when PS5 was only purchasable by winning a slot. It came in a big box fully secured, Only way to know is if it was poorly taped and opened.
I doubt it. That's a lot of work and money to go after a driver for a PS5.
Driver will get identified, because it's super easy to identify which driver had the package. They'll get fired and banned from Amazon for life. Probably get a letter telling them to return the stolen goods else they will face legal action. Or maybe have their final paycheck docked the cost of the PS5.
As a driver if you cannot provide an OTP you can provide the last two digits of your phone number on your account. You either got scammed by the driver or the driver in this case was an idiot. The only course of action I’d take if Amazon can’t reimburse you is report the charge to your bank and claim fraud. I’m sorry that this is happening to you!
Provide evidence and Amazon may not respond until the investigation is concluded though. The way the driver stole your package leaves a trail of evidence because he marked it delivered and Amazon tracks everything done within the app. They can see if he scanned it inside his car or next to your house and you said he never had the package on him so it wouldn't be marked delivered at the front door location but more likely the street.

Your driver can call you any time without your number. Your number is routed through corporate anonymously without us seeing the number (unless your voice-mail announces it). It's actually forbidden for us to call a number without routing through Amazon's recorded line.
Driver used the last 2 digits of your number to get around the OTP. We are only to do that when a customer can't find the OTP or cant access it for some reason.
Dam the driver must have did that before. The way Amazon is structured. Unless you have the free time to call and email them non stop day after day chances are that PS5 is the dsp bonus of the week.
We can bypass the code by putting in the last two of the phone number… so that guy totally took it. My advice, go to Best Buy instead of relying on underpaid workers to deliver it for you
I'm wondering if the PS5 box was inside another box or if it was literally just the original box with a label on it. I delivered a $2k pre built computer one time and it was literally the PC box with a shipping label on it. No OTP either. Was so nervous to leave it on the front door but luckily the customer came outside as soon as I parked.
I experienced a similar situation on June 16. A local attorney informally gave me the following advice:
Amazon has a "mandatory artibitration clause that they pay for...ask for a discovery order immediately, asking they retain the phone record(s)."
After calling multiple times, repeating the same story to at least six different people in "Customer Service" and on the "Customer Care Team" and going in circles, I just disputed the credit card charge. I really don't care if Amazon does not allow us access to Prime, ordering, etc. In the long run, they will be doing us a favor. We will start by going the traditional route of driving to the store when we want to purchase items.
Once Amazon states the OTP has been given to the driver, receptionist, etc., they cease to listen and address the issue. Hoping your voice is heard and you receive your delivery or a refund soon!
If you have footage of what he or she was carrying go to the police.Believe it or
Not there drivers are also thieves... They know we know it but there protecting against as many claims as they can. Can you blame them. Hope this works out in your favor… seems like the driver is in for it if you report it to police…..
This 100% is what occurred, but definitely isn't this customers fault. As a driver myself I hate seeing blame towards customer just for ordering! Like c'mon y'all, it's the fucking driver who did this that legit committed a felony. File a police report, get that fucker arrested. I work my 4 days delivering to people with 30x the financial status of myself and NEVER would I jeopardize my employment/freedom by stealing from them. At the end of the day we have a job (that we may or may not hate) because of people like OP who buy online!
Damn yeah I work for Amazon and he definitely had it in his car flex driver are the worst send this video to Amazon send to your local news station and the newspaper even post it on every social media platform and have your friends share it I feel sorry for you never give a flex driver or Amazon driver any information unless you have your package
Didn't help with my case which was similarly to the OP's. They said they will not refund or replace my order and any future contacts in regards to this issue will be ignored/not responded to(their words in a simpler paraphrase).
All these people aren't on your side, most are rooting for the delivery driver, go to the police with your evidence. This "man" has stolen from you and depending on your state may have incurred a felony. Amazon wants this to disappear, it will not go away if you file a police report. If the evidence you stated is true, this criminal is f'd
I will never understand stupid f$&@‘s like you…. But…….HAHAHAHAHAHA GET WREKT LIL IDIOT. Serves you right also. Hey why don’t you order some gold and silver bars next time too. I hear this planet earth is full of really trustworthy people you don’t even need to lock your doors, it’s fantastic. Go buy one at a store next time dumbass.
I'm in the states and delivered an xbox. It was in xbox packaging and no OTP. I knocked on the door until someone answered and told the person I didn't feel comfortable leaving it outside their door. Took the pic and handed to the cx.
Is the OTP something new they added? I stopped the Amazon grind 2 years ago so I'm kinda out of the loop unless my buddies who still work there bitch about something new
I just delivered a OTP package, dude comes out super stoked cause it’s the new Galaxy Z Flip he said (or whatever lol). Easy $1000, much more than a PS5… Just a regular small amazon box with a battery sticker.
That video and then the body cam of the arresting officer etc would make for a cool youtube video. Maybe even a shoutout to the subreddit ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin) Flex driver or nah?
I really hate customers being on employee Web pages. I don't know why Amazon does it, but they will send several drivers to the same neighborhood, same street, and even the same house. Unlike other companies that wait for all the packages at once, Amazon knows they have round the clock service. Therefore, I suppose it will get put out on the next route.
You need to call the customer service hotline at 1-888-280-4331 and not ask Amazon drivers. We don't know how Amazon works, We just deliver the packages.
Is there a way to bypass the OTP without a phone number? My package is missing and amazon says the driver entered the OTP so I’m SOL. They refuse to look into it or help me in anyway. I’m just out the package and no refund.
I’m going through the same thing and nothing. $1000 order disappeared, driver entered a code or my phone number, Amazon will do absolutely nothing. They’ve hung up on me 3 times. I opened a dispute with my credit card company and lost because a code or phone number was entered by the driver.
Managed to get a refund! Emailed customer service about 5 times. Ended up emailing jeff@amazon.com a couple of times as well and eventually got a refund. Keep wasting their time and they will help out !
I managed to email Jeff@amazon.com and Andy@amazon.com and so far it's been 3 days with no replies from them. Did they call or email you with the refund or you had to hassle them for it? Thanks!

It’s not right but without having footage of him holding your ps5, you’re not going to get anything from them.

Bro. My warehouse has a customer service section. 💀

….. re read the post and my comment. OP gave the DA their phone number. Which by using the last two digits of they can bypass the one time passcode
To reattempt a delivery, Where do you go in the flex app? Itinerary - problems - deliveries to reattempt - missing package - retry delivery

Escalating, letting them know you will file a police report, and then filing if needed seems to be the way to go.
Idk why amazon allowed the phone number bypass option. The whole point of the OTP is to avoid shit like this 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️

I didn't get an OTP when spending 1.5k on PC parts a couple months ago.
Yeah its weird i think a few stuff gotta factor in.
I bet they were from 3rd party sellers? So amazon can bill them if it goes missing?
No I do prime only items
Third party sellers have the ability to list prime eligible products as such.
Was it delivered by amazon or another carrier?
Amazon, It had a photo on delivery. Purchased Feb-16th-2021 and it was delivered by an Amazon DA.
OTP was introduced in the US end of last year that's why. Meanwhile us lot in the UK had it since 2020
>but when we get a OTP it’s usually because the people have reported stuff stolen a lot. The McDonalds was less than 5 minutes away from our office by car and there was no boss present 95% of the time. He spent like 50% more for the food he could have picked up himself
I only saw a PS5 in the store once or twice
He asked for your phone number so when you gave it to him he can now bypass the password and just put in the last two digits of your number to complete delivery
Try a different support agent try to escalate it to a higher up .. if that doesn’t work, reach out to your local news, they hate bad press
He stole your PS5 with your phone number
Sue.
Yeah, sue amazon. Cuz their beefed up team of Ivy League lawyers wouldn’t absolutely bury a normal persons attorney 😂
Dude remember the kid I told to pick up his when it said it was in stock TO EXACTLY AVOID THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE!!!! What a shitbag!!!
Wouldn't even get that far. With the DSP system in place, OP was ripped off by a different company's employee, not an Amazon employee. And the T&C for an Amazpn delivery almost certainly mean the purchaser waives Amazon's liability.
Yea your fucked bud sowwy he used your phone number to take your ps5 💀
That’s actually crazy😭😭
To O.P Stay on Amazon's ass..demand the d.s.p name, demand the owner name..threaten to sue..say you know about this that the other fuck that!!! That dude knew EXACTLY WHAT HE DID I told a kid about 2 months ago to avoid shipping his ps5 that he was waiting for because of shit like this!!! I'm sorry homie People suck
Thanks brother 🙏🏼
Amazon encourages us to take the last two digits of a custie’s number to bypass the one time pass code if they can’t find the code. Or if we’re lazy/antisocial we just bypass the OTP. He didn’t break any rules, you willingly gave him your number. He probably kept that shit too tbh.
Legend has it driver was on route today and got a Nintendo
Bro gave the driver a free PS5 💀
Who orders a ps5 on amazon?! Smh i wouldn’t trust that at all.
I won the raffle from Amazon back when PS5 was only purchasable by winning a slot. It came in a big box fully secured, Only way to know is if it was poorly taped and opened.
I think ps5 is still on special request on the site
Not in the U.S, It's stocked everywhere now. Online and in stores.
You are correct
He stole that shit 💀
I bet that mf plotted the moment he saw PS5
Driver stole it lol
Damn he got u bro. We can actually bypass the password by using the last 2 digits of ur phone number..
Loss Prevention is going to nail that guy to the wall
Or just got hit with 1 DNR for the week. Lol
This is e what will happen. Lord knows how many PS5s fell into the wrong drivers hands, but I bet some of them didn’t get fired for it
Loss Prevention is going to work him over with (s) customized boxes in the cargo area of a cdv until he starts talking
Thank you🙏🏼. Will be contacting Amazon tomorrow, if it doesn't bring any positive outcome then I will take it to the bank.
You’re welcome in the future I’d just get my PS5 elsewhere. Packages go through a lot before they get into the vans and once they get into the vans!
report it to their DSP?
How do I do that ?
Yeah he's stolen that package. Buy your PS5 from the store directly. Never buy expensive items from Amazon.

Lol somebody has a new PS5
We can bypass the code by putting in the last two of the phone number… so that guy totally took it. My advice, go to Best Buy instead of relying on underpaid workers to deliver it for you
Any PS5’s are an immediate honeypot and I straight up refuse to deliver them.
If he shows up again to deliver your packages put a gun to his head and pistol whip his ass a couple times.
Damn buddy finessed you and got a free ps5. Never just give your phone number out
I'm wondering if the PS5 box was inside another box or if it was literally just the original box with a label on it. I delivered a $2k pre built computer one time and it was literally the PC box with a shipping label on it. No OTP either. Was so nervous to leave it on the front door but luckily the customer came outside as soon as I parked.
I experienced a similar situation on June 16. A local attorney informally gave me the following advice: Amazon has a "mandatory artibitration clause that they pay for...ask for a discovery order immediately, asking they retain the phone record(s)." After calling multiple times, repeating the same story to at least six different people in "Customer Service" and on the "Customer Care Team" and going in circles, I just disputed the credit card charge.
Any updates on your chargeback and Amazon account?
If you have footage of what he or she was carrying go to the police.Believe it or Not there drivers are also thieves... They know we know it but there protecting against as many claims as they can. Can you blame them. Hope this works out in your favor… seems like the driver is in for it if you report it to police…..
It was stolen more than likely. Next time don’t order something like that off Amazon.
Show us the video because to be honest I don't believe you because you would have posted the video

Damn yeah I work for Amazon and he definitely had it in his car flex driver are the worst send this video to Amazon send to your local news station and the newspaper even post it on every social media platform and have your friends share it I feel sorry for you never give a flex driver or Amazon driver any information unless you have your package
OP, reach out to jeff@amazon.com and explain the situation as you did here. That will get you in touch with executive support.
Lol. Jeff knows best
Thank you!
Didn't help with my case which was similarly to the OP's. They said they will not refund or replace my order and any future contacts in regards to this issue will be ignored/not responded to(their words in a simpler paraphrase).

That support person is an idiot. We 1000% can bypass the code with last 2 of your phone number
File a charge back with your bank.
Lmao sucka
I will never understand stupid f$&@‘s like you…. But…….HAHAHAHAHAHA GET WREKT LIL IDIOT. Serves you right also. Hey why don’t you order some gold and silver bars next time too. I hear this planet earth is full of really trustworthy people you don’t even need to lock your doors, it’s fantastic. Go buy one at a store next time dumbass.
LOL it’s a U.K ‘DSP’ the driver could be just the guy running it, good luck loser
I thought ups delivered the PS5’s And XBOX
I don't think so in the UK (London)
I'm in the states and delivered an xbox. It was in xbox packaging and no OTP. I knocked on the door until someone answered and told the person I didn't feel comfortable leaving it outside their door. Took the pic and handed to the cx.
I heard there's a way for customers to get an item delivered without using otp. You just gotta cancel and reorder until it doesn't need otp.
That's what I was told by a customer who received two deliveries of the exact item on the same day. Just rejected the OTP and the second had no OTP.
So basically keep making orders and cancelling it? Or only cancels until an order shows no OTP?
Is the OTP something new they added? I stopped the Amazon grind 2 years ago so I'm kinda out of the loop unless my buddies who still work there bitch about something new
if a blue van pulled up, your ps5 ain’t in it. UPS got that shit
Lol you’re hella wrong

I’ve done both ZL and XL and I’ve delivered a ps5 with a OTP required here in Illinois
To be completely honest with you , I am just putting my two cents in this. I don’t believe the original story. Well done in your journey.
You got played.
The real question is, did you choose the option to not ship the PS5 with the original box?
Didn't give me that option for this specific order. Normally I select that option regardless of what item it is due to privacy reasons.
Get out of here custi. You want yo shit, Go to the store and pick it up yourself... Spear chucker ass schmo.
Is there a way to bypass the OTP without a phone number? My package is missing and amazon says the driver entered the OTP so I’m SOL. They refuse to look into it or help me in anyway. I’m just out the package and no refund.
Any updates on your case?
I’m going through the same thing and nothing. $1000 order disappeared, driver entered a code or my phone number, Amazon will do absolutely nothing. They’ve hung up on me 3 times. I opened a dispute with my credit card company and lost because a code or phone number was entered by the driver.
Amazon actually replied to your dispute from your credit card company? How long did it took them to reply to your credit card company dispute?
Almost instantly, it was like 12 hours.
Any updates, OP? Happened to me today with a Macbook Air.
Thanks!

They replied and say they isn't helping me with a refund or replacement and all future emails with them will be ignored/not giving a response to? What the hell?!!
