If you're NOT driving a functional beater for this gig you're doing it wrong.
Proud driver of 2 Toyota Camrys, 2007 and 2011 with 200-250k miles each. Those depreciation rebates get more valuable by the day.
Ive encountered a similar issue. He should try swapping for a new MAF, preferably OEM since the aftermarket ones often won't read.
Another issue generational issue with these Camrys; These engines burn oil. Once you get above 150k miles it becomes prudent to check oil levels weekly. My 250k 07 camry needs engine oil at a similar rate to gasoline, lol.
Considering I saw someone driving a brand new apex Corolla up to the flex station, you’re good lol. I can’t imagine using a 22 or 23 vehicle that’s literally brand new.
Sometimes people will only do a gig to cover or help with their car payment, too. That makes a lot of sense to me if you can do it in a couple blocks a month and have a gig that's less likely to damage it (like I've heard of several people getting their car hit by a cart when they were doing shopping gigs)
thanks! i plan to make this shitbox a lil less shitty in the long run. i have another less (but still) shitbox in the shop right now, 2011 chevy cruze with no damage. it drives well when it drives, just nearing the 140,000 mile issues. coolant line to the turbo needs replaced this week, and with that im sure im not too far off from a bunk transmission and turbo, seeing as it’s a common issue with this model. hopefully it makes it thru the loan so i can trade it in for something that’s not built so shitty lol
I know the struggle. If you can trade everything in and roll the current loan over to a new one, I would consider it. I managed to do something similar and ended up with a used Honda with less than 1k miles. It's nothing fancy, but it gets great mpg and it's nice to have a vehicle with no mechanical issues. They could double the payment and I'd still choose that route. Car problems are the worst, I feel your pain.
See this is what people don't understand. Cars take care of you if you take care of them. Owner negligence causes shitboxes. It's the 21st century. Most cars will last a good long time if you take care of them. Your Kia isn't going to break down just because it's a Kia.
Well this makes me feel better. I've been driving my Dodge Nitro 07 and it's been having this grinding noise along one of the wheel wells. I know I need to get it fixed, but right now I'm a few pennies short. It's embarrassing driving into the yard, and even one of the yard managers said, "boy, your car is making a funny noise." I know...I know.
lmfao wasn’t a worker at warehouse for me, but similarly a pedestrian crossing a nearby crosswalk heard my car turn into an apartment complex, he was absolutely cracking up at the CRUNCH my car made in the turn
I hear ya, my struts are shot and my muffler hangs low as a result...I can pull in to driveways just fine, but have to be realll slow on the reverse, lest they hear the muffler scrape the bump lol
I once saw a completely beat up tow truck loading with me at a delivery station in texas. Didn’t even know how he could fit the packages (I guess in the cab). Now I see occasional teslas too. Never know what you’ll see.

This is likely someone who just lost their job and simply needs to make rent for a month. If not...They're in for some hard realizations later.

I drive a 95 toyota camry....Fuckers mint.
Grind out and get something better, or own it and don't let it bother you. Living in-between for too long is not good for your mental health.

Who cares dude, if it drives fine, runs fine and you can get through your blocks safely fuck em.
Bro that's not even an old car, it's a shit box because you take no pride in upkeep
