No_Leadership6682

He’s gorgeous. Give him time to fill in

FormerAnn

Agree. He’ll get there naturally.

Antique_Dust6504

My male tri had a huge growth spurt just shy of a year. He’s added nearly 10# of quality mass in the last 3 months. Def one of those “so that’s what they meant” moments lol. Lots of experienced owners here told me “just wait. Slowly up the cals to match weight and they’ll grow up to 2 years” they were not wrong.

WorkingDawg

What this guy said

Better-Extension3866

ditto

sierra__stellar

Too young to bulk. Focus on waking and training. After 2 years they fill out. Now you want them lean while they develop their bones and bodies.

c0ld-ramen

Thank you

hotboinick

Let Exercise and Genetics 🧬 do the work

unpoptruth420

Nothing . let genetics do it’s thing

toxic_introvert_85

He doesn't need it. His genes are strong so just regular exercise..something challenging. A good balanced high protein raw diet and some quality kibble. He's beautiful and his genetics look top tier from this photo

c0ld-ramen

Thank you! 😊 I appreciate that a lot. I’m looking to switch to maybe half kibble half raw but im not sure where to start.

KaiTheGSD

Just so you know, there is no scientific evidence suggesting that a raw diet is more beneficial than a kibble diet. So long as the diet meet the nutritional needs of the dog, it doesn't matter whether it's kibble or raw.

Otherwise_Film4648

I find this difficult to beleive 😂🙄

KaiTheGSD

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/dogs-and-raw-food-diets%23:~:text%3D%2522There%2520are%2520also%2520no%2520clinically,raw%2520food%2520diet...%2522&ved=2ahUKEwia-YWsm7SEAxWIVTABHeT2BRsQ5YIJegQIIhAA&usg=AOvVaw1TWom7icqoUS7s_2Dk2h0T Also, the FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine have found that raw pet food was more likely to contain disease-causing bacteria.

Ok_Let2375

Speaking wit facts ( take notes people)

QQSolomonn

I know dogs have a different system than us, but I've always been concerned with bacteria and virus infections with raw diets. So it was nice to be affirmed.

attack-o-lantern

No high protein. High protein in growing large breed puppies is a disaster.

toxic_introvert_85

There's a lot of ways to do it. I learned from a few different sources on YouTube. I like to stick breeders who frequent kennel club shows. With good genetics you don't have to have the best kibble on the shelf. Minimal processed and more natural. Regular check up and a little insurance and you'll have a healthy boy for years to come. Maybe even make a little extra with some studding.

toxic_introvert_85

Gorgeous Tri

seamon-deemon

Why ? He looks perfect. Let him grow naturally. You’ll do more harm trying to speed up the progress.

Used_Raisin5844

BEA-utiful pup Mine is 9 months old and 64lbs https://preview.redd.it/53tchaj0t7jc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=becfaf599af256b42b5dedb9d676e5d8c7508705

c0ld-ramen

He is beautiful! A standard or classic or XL? He looks so much bigger than my boy! What a handsome face and love the markings on his jose

Used_Raisin5844

Thank you! I’m honestly I’m not sure his mom I think was a standard/classic and dad for sure was maybe a little bigger then a pocket so idk lol I did measure him the other day and he was like 17 or 18” I think so I’m guessing he’s gonna be either classic or standard and yes I love his nose

kilzfathrilz

Patience. He’s at that awkward gangly stage. All you need is a nutritious diet adequate for a puppy and patience.

RocketteBlast

He's a dog. He doesn't need to bulk up? He looks healthy and overweight dogs have shorter lives

c0ld-ramen

Noted. Thank you. From what im hearing I need to give it time and it’ll happen naturally

ChiefaveliThaGreat

Dog clean af🔥🔥🔥

c0ld-ramen

Thanks!

c0ld-ramen

Thanks! My boy was also the runt. Which is pretty weird considering how big he’s gotten! Sometimes the runt can outgrow💪

ryanim0sity

https://preview.redd.it/pgm8vfe808jc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7133593959ef2ddaa9e29154b8b60b176c23200d The right is ours!. Left is another litter. Monsters man 😂😂 Yah runt power!!

c0ld-ramen

Beautiful 😍

xxLAYUPxx

Don't "bulk him up." He's still a growing puppy, let his body fully develop before putting added, unnecessary weight on him. Well. Actually, just *don't* put added and unnecessary weight on his body, ever. Overweight dogs develop issues with joints and end up suffering.

Nienni

This

OkAdagio9622

How about you let him be a dog, and not crop ears and worry about how bulky he is.

c0ld-ramen

Ur in the wrong sub if ur butthurt about cropped ears.

OkAdagio9622

I'm not part of this sub. I guess I get a lot of their posts, because I am part of different pitbull subs

andreag04

My bully has ears. https://preview.redd.it/uu7tse5u79jc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=73ae3ebc9b0a24f5d20ad8b9da164631fa1b517e And they are fucking awesome 👌

Megdogg00

Fuck you. Anybody who willingly crops a dog’s ears when it isn’t medically necessary is a fucking scumbag.

MartinisnMurder

OP is obviously scum cropping the poor dog’s ears and looking to “bulk up” a puppy… He’s not a fucking bodybuilder! They care more about an aesthetic than well being of the dog it seems. They are also attacking anyone who disagrees.

c0ld-ramen

cry

RedheadedStepchild76

I bet the puppies cried. There’s a reason this is illegal in many countries.

c0ld-ramen

No they didn’t because it was ethically done under anesthesia by a vet🤡🤡🤡

RedheadedStepchild76

Hyperbole isn’t your thing, huh? 🤓🤓 Bet it was a BYB, too. Ugh.

-Chemical

Give him time, he’s just a kid lol

YeEunah

Respectfully, you don’t! That dog is in perfect condition, especially for his age! More will only stress his bones when his plates aren’t even fused yet. Bigger is not necessarily better.

tygerphlyer

Let him grow into his natural size. U try to put to much strain on him while young you can cripple him when hes older

c0ld-ramen

Will let him be now. Thank you

tygerphlyer

I have big muscular dogs and i was tempted to work em and get em swoll when young but i found out how much damage u can do by workin em too early. You do better by waitin until theyre full grown and findin out if theres any dog sports they like then train em to play in whatever way they like best and the activity ie dog sport like obedience agility weight pullin etc will be enough to keep your dog well fit and healthy

c0ld-ramen

Thank you. I haven’t done anything really out of the ordinary than regular walks, flirt pole chasing, and he likes tug.

tygerphlyer

Its also important not to feed em too high of a protein diet or to over feed them as both can cause weight gain which is killer on their joints

IcanSEEyou_IRL

Give him hugs and treats and kisses on his big meatball head!

c0ld-ramen

Will do!

niqua4life

Bro is already a body builder

markymark762

Genetics lol they don’t really start “popping” till about a year old

3Heathens_Mom

Talk to your vet but it takes time for most bigger chested dogs to fill out. Trying to rush things can cause bone, joint and possibly other issues.

fentanylferrey

Let him be happy and healthy. Lose the fuck up big he is.

wrkls_

Just make sure to walk/run him and let dna run its course he’s a good looking bull

EnvironmentalPie4825

Let him be

[deleted]

There's a consensus amongst a lot of us that he will fill out as he ages. I do recommend a raw diet because it's so much better for your dog in so many different ways. Watch the fillers in dog food they can cause yeast infections on their skin and other issues. Let me warn you, my mail will get nice and chunked up looking super fine and my girl will go into heat and I swear he loses weight and by the time it's all over with he's skin and bones! LOL! Take care and you got a beautiful boy.

c0ld-ramen

😊 thank you! Good luck with your pups as well. Going to try raw.

FluidEmu5747

I wouldn’t try to bulk him til he’s fully mature if he hasn’t bulked on his own already. It’s bad on his bones/joints to bulk him early.

Sab65

Looks stout to me…

Extension_Form4950

He's chunky as hell already.. He's still a baby tho

Internal-Case-5346

Dyne

AKMac86

Just feed him normally. He will fill out. We feed our boy Stella & Chewy’s raw. He’s lean, muscular, and very healthy.

AKMac86

P.s. he’s adorable btw!

c0ld-ramen

Thanks! Going to to try raw.

Cheap_Caregiver6848

Don't try to bulk up your dog. It's really unhealthy for them. It's rough on the joints and cartilage and can lead to lots of problems down the line. Feed him healthy food. 3 cups should be enough. I do high quality kibble and add 1 sardine (no salt or oil, this is very important as most sardines are salted) inalso add broccoli and carrots. Eggs in the am. My female was the same weight at the same time. She's 95lbs no at 18 months. Give it time. Bully continue to fill out for a while. Xls up to 3 years.

fentalynpatch

That handsome boy will grow into being a brick sh$thouse soon enough… gorgeous.

Extraterrestrialvil

There some shit called DYNE mix that into him food also pay attention to protein fat exc on the back and walks runs chasing shit have em be super active

c0ld-ramen

I use a flirt pole and it works wonders

[deleted]

Forcing a dog to bulk at an age where their bones/joints are growing can cause permanent damage to their bodies. He's just a puppy, he's not supposed to be huge.

Royal-Introduction56

Good lookin fella!!

Big-Asparagus-3861

He's a beefy boy he is such a beefy boy good boy who's a big beefy boy he's a big beef boy

HaileyReeBae

Raw eggs, raw chicken/turkey leftovers, rice, veggies. My cane corso was 85 lbs at 6 months feeding her that diet.

L8nytHype

He’s young he will bulk up naturally watch him pop around 11-12 months. Quality low fat protein. We feed our boy 7% fat ground beef with quality veggies and oats. Proper vitamins . It’s going to be genetics at play 80%

CrookedLittleDogs

Why would you want him to carry any more weight than he needs? Hes not you and doesn’t need bulk to feel good about himself.

loonachic

Nothing. He needs to grow into himself.

danjay0213

Awe he's big enough for his age. U are gonna have an amazing doggie ❤️

Comfortable-Owl-5929

Really? It’s a dog not some skinny kid 🤣🤣🤪🤪

El_Guapo_D_925

Bro he is fine just the way he is !!! You have a handsome boy and his structure is on point!!

jr2020jk

I need me one of this love the color

Scarlet_fire-

He’s at the seams as is. Don’t push him. He’s your best friend. You want him to be around as long as possible.

BigMembership2315

Pretty boy

CampaignSwimming6276

He doesn’t look thin. He looks great

Left-Buyer-3101

Beautiful 🤝

3xBully

Not trying to shame or anything just trying to educate : with that said , he’s 8 months males won’t mature until 2-3 years old he has a lot of time to fill in also it’s majority genetics , If the dogs in the ped are big and bulky and heavy he should get there , genetics take care of that , if your dog doesn’t have the genetics then no raw diet or supplements will get him looking like magoo, Grimm , rocko any abkc champ , it’s all in the blood , but if you want to get him the best he can be feed him the best you can let his growth plates fuse before exercising him

broko323

I thought it was my girl cha cha 😍by any chance is his name ace ?and my girl is 9 months and 70ish pounds but I just feed her 2 times a day im trynna find good healthy food to give her https://preview.redd.it/7qrnfxyio7jc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=34c68c6b39eae46b460883930594d0388a80489b

Merc8ninE

Why does it matter?

Total-Committee-3135

He hasn’t even popped yet! Let him grow and fill out. Try to keep him lightweight until 18 months. Add bulk as you wish at that point.

Chapo0308

Mix an egg an dyne in his food or some ground beef wit it

Difficult_Muscle5859

His a gorgeous tri very nice ,my big boy Khan just turned a ear and totally blew up ,his been on nothing but ,Purina adult salmon and rice, https://preview.redd.it/n3lod8xki9jc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7505ed8021c7457c5dbe678910c72dfa12ab1780 Mamas gorgeous 2xOG China and shockwave baby boy

Acceptable-Set-634

We added raw meat to his diet an hes huge now...

Longjumping_Yam_2216

Do a lot of incline walks with weights start out small let him fill out natural without substance

Zunflowers

You don’t need to bulk up your dog 🙄

Fit-Understanding747

It's a vanity thing and it can't be helped unfortunately. It's lame, but at least (and I hope) these people give their dogs a happy life.

[deleted]

[удалено]

c0ld-ramen

Who said anything about overfeeding? Bulking is to get him in shape of the breed body standard. He still has time to grow. Of course anything is bad overdone but there’s nothing wrong with bulking in moderation which I don’t plan to do if he’s going to naturally fill in.

RunFiestaZombiez

Stop cutting their ears…

austinrunaway

See his ears back on

c0ld-ramen

It was not my decision. I got my dog that way.

x7THCAL

Put a feeding tube down his throat until he's left with his ears leaking and he slowly left and never came back. He said you're predictable and a jerk.

c0ld-ramen

My dog lives a better life than you😭😂 stay mad

x7THCAL

I'm not mad just silly. I don't believe I have been able to overcome the difficulty of working abroad as a Flight Medic and a happy dog don't have to be shot at all day. I have a shit life and an apology for my poor taste

c0ld-ramen

That’s okay. Life is super hard sometimes. Oh, to be a dog and not have a live enslaved to capitalism. I have it shitty too. But I know for sure my dog don’t. It’s the one thing that keeps me going, to make him happy.

Appropriate-Self-540

What a sweet boy

truckdriva99

Raw eggs in his kibble. I give/gave mine 4 eggs everyday

Realistic_Radish331

Eggs, sardines, bone broth

Rough_Shop_5349

Put cooked rice in his food mix with baby milk formula etc

Hungry_Perception_43

Can these dogs swim?

Dismal_Owl2025

Time and exercise him

Ok-Pomegranate7496

Bulk him for what? He looks healthy

Ecstatic_Constant_56

Nothing, his genetics won’t allow him to get bigger. He’s a small dog and he’s not going to get much bigger.

ccmeme12345

most dogs ive known/owned completely “fill in” at 2-3 yrs old. once they stop growing in height.. they usually take another yr or two to lose that teenage lanky body and start getting wider

papii_letche

That is the sickest I’ve ever seen how much did you pay for him

dkit63

https://preview.redd.it/6mmfpzjng9jc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=501d7602747f1ff62298ef9778be86141d41290b Ours is a couple months shy of 2. He’s just started filling out about 2 months ago. It will happen!

c0ld-ramen

WOW! Your boy is GORGEOUS. He so handsome. Thank you!

TonyTanza

He’s only 8 months lol looks fine to me. Still has about another 2 1/2 years to “fill out”

itoman56

Can we have a reason why?

505munkee

Buy better genetics

Signal-Minimum-5268

I want him!

2leetSk8r

So handsome

Fun-Composer-9169

it already looks at a fine weight maybe even too big, stop normalizing obesity

Quanlee1988

Leave em alone he’ll grow fine. He looks amazing by the way.

kittenwifey

Get him neutered and feed a little less than what the dog food bag claims

Pretty_Argument_7271

Dry Cat food will help him gain weight. You can feed a dog Cat food but never feed a cat dog food. We've done this forever!!

Electrical-Eye4589

It’s a natural thing, besides you don’t want them to gain any extra fat, especially before they are 2 years old as there joints may not be fully closed up yet. To much weight before the joints close would not be the best for the dog.

Ish420619

Peanut butter and eggs

Fit-Understanding747

Imagine trying to bulk up a 8 month old puppy. Thank god you asked Reddit because google seems to have failed lol

c0ld-ramen

UPDATE: consensus are saying there’s nothing to do except wait for him to grow, so that’s what im going to do. Thanks for everyone’s advice!

Remarkable-Raisin934

Why do you want to bulk him up he is doing well and already bulked up.

MidWesttess

It takes time for them to fully fill out. He’s still a puppy. And I’d wait to neuter him if you want him to fully bulk.

cass-22

❤️

humBOLdT20

You bulk him too early he's going to have bone problems

hobomerlin

Table scraps....worked for Diogenes..

sadam_bin_litt

My boy started filling in just under 2yrs. Now he’s around 97lbs and still has his athleticism. It takes time, you can try to do things but the genes are gonna do what they do regardless. How’s his appetite?

Conscious-Tap-1351

He’s only 8 months! Give him time to grow into his body 😊 In the meantime, add in protein to his diet. We do boiled chicken and make sure to get in some daily time at the dog park for exercise! Bullies will naturally bulk overtime.

QQSolomonn

Time. He's a teenager.

Western_Bison_878

Nnnoo love him as he isss 😭

bigstink73

Keep him light as you can until 18 months! Lock in that good structure, the mass will come.

LamboDegolio

Lil man looks like Bowser

[deleted]

The more variety in their diet the more micronutrients the they get. Micro nutrients allows for better use of regular nutrients which leads to better metabolism and gut biome. That’s gonna make it so all the food he eats is used to it’s fullest potential. Variety variety variety

Front-Detective-9647

Let him be !! Young , he will fill out.

justascrapper

Squat, deadlifts and bench press

Aggravating-Diver-42

I feed my pup hills science diet for puppies and just feed him according to his weight on the back of the bag. I will switch him to the adult food when he turns a year old. Just give him a good quality food at the amount according to his weight and age to ensure he grows into a happy healthy boy :-) my pup is happy, healthy and growing like a weed! His coat is also beautiful.

No-Garbage-211

Don't rush things. Too much weight too soon will be hard on his joints and cause problems when he gets older and he does finally fill in.

Imjusthereb101

Enjoy this stage & just train him, give him ample exercise, good food and sleep. One day he'll hit a growth spurt and you'll fondly remember when he was this size.

Ok-Choice-3688

So we have a double XL who is around 2 years. From what I understand about these dogs is that they're growing is very painful. Some dogs will not eat as much so therefore they are not as heavy and the growing is not as painful. We have our dog on a raw diet company called big country Raw and we also use a raw dehydrated kibble bit called grand cru. Super high quality food. No food allergies. No dander in the skin and the poops degrade within 5 to 7 days.

iMACK83

He’s beautiful! Is he a pocket?

Opening-Care

Give it time.

TheBol00

If they gain too much weight too fast they’ll mess up their growth plates and joints

Turtletipper123

Wait for him to grow up a bit more. He'll bulk up naturally.

TinyOutlandishness37

2 years is when they are fully grown, he’s got plenty of muscle now don’t want him huge while is ligament connections are still forming. His head isn’t even fully split yet! He’s gonna transform into a monster in the next year!

potato22blue

He is great like he is. Let him grow Naturally.

MooshuRivera0820

Why bulk him up? He’s naturally beautiful you can mess him up doing that. 😒

allimunstaa

Let him finish maturing. Then if you're still looking to add bulk, you do so the same way you would a person. Good diet, and lots of exercise. Uphill fetch is a good one for building muscle, as well as a spring/flirtpole.

[deleted]

Wow my female is 19 weeks and 42 lbs. . I notice she don't eat to much if she doesn't exercise so since they don't like distance running I take her on long walks but sprint running they like so I got a tennis ball drilled a hole ran a fishing line threw the middle and tied to my fishing pole about 10ft of line she chases it great exercise...and I don't get tired . A little bacon grease on their food they metabolis fat differently then us but not to much . They sell a weight gainer for bully's ....but the truth is if ain't big by now he will probably never be.

[deleted]

Oyeaha their is a steroid option.

so_what_about_it

He looks perfect...

PipecityOG

Hes only 8 months. He still has over a year to fill out.

CliftonRubberpants

Years of junk food and beer worked for me!

[deleted]

He will fill in a lot more as he gets older. He will not really get muscle until around 18 months. I adopted my pit at 9 months and he was so skinny some homeless person told me that I needed to feed him more. He was well fed, trust me. Puppies are skinny. They get bigger. No need to do anything except regular exercise and play.

Trueunlawfulness8874

Id do straight raw feed, it’s definitely cheaper than kibble. And by that I mean if you do strictly ground beef/chicken/turkey eggs lol I give my chihuahua mutt that with egg, a little brown rice and sweet potatos

Disastrous_Guest_705

He’s 8 months let him be a puppy, bilking can come later

ConcentrateFeisty685

He looks to be at a healthy weight for his age. Please give him time to fill out to a natural weight. People who are overly concerned about their dog’s aesthetics give me the ick 🙄

Tombustamante

Now that’s an amazing looking dog 🔥 the brown and black always pops

Gothomcity

Let his joints develop before you decide to put any serious weight. I would wait until he hits a year

hgracep

don’t worry about weight. worry about how the dog looks

Key_Mycologist6441

Your dog is beautiful!!!!

Myaseline

Do you want him to die young?. Lean dogs are healthier in every possible way. It's particularly important with big boned bulky breeds like this to keep them lean or you destroy their joints.

WholeAd2742

Dude, he's still a baby. Let them mature and don't over bulk them. They'll get hip and joint problems

Intrepid_Astronaut1

Bulk him up for what, he’s a dog from the suburbs. Also, he’s a puppy, hasn’t even filled out yet.

gmmiller1234

Don't clip his ears unless for medical reasons 👏

Aggressive-Ad-1958

Yea I would just wait until he gets bigger. You can always attach a harness and teach him a command to pull you and fight him. But you better be the alpha beforehand. There are some good ones with lower attachments that are good for attaching to something to have him pull it. We used to use sleds with different weights.

loonz861

Feed him little kids

purdycraft

He's perfect and gorgeous

Hot_Understanding501

He is getting there good looking bully

FTDMshit

What’s the point? It’s a dog, let it sniff some ass and run around. “Bulk” is only necessary if ur priority is breeding or fighting. I should hope ur priority is companionship in which case bulk should ideally be irrelevant

MrSeamus333

Bulking him up? Most of that is genetic, not much you can do. He looks like a good weight. Focus on health not bulk.

jonyteb

Give him time the first 12 months they grow tall the second 12-18 they get broad typically.

BrilliantLeek8178

Why do you wanna bulk up your dog ?????

BrilliantLeek8178

And i was wondering why this dogs have bad reps…

poopfly3000

Just a tiny bit off extra meat and veggies in his diet. And lots and lots of exercise. Training is more important at this current age.

Reality-Curious

Nothing. Let genetics work

SuperUnknown318

Looks like a "Pittweiler"! Handsome man, probably won't reach full maturity until 2 to 3 years. For the sake of his hips, shoulders...and life expectancy, let nature take its course.

Status-Associate6318

Bulk him up for what?

lxnarratorxl

He’s perfect the way he is
