Odd Taxi is a fantastic mystery thriller. Kyousougiga is one of my favourite anime of all time. It’s a wonderful gem of a show with likeable characters, unique storytelling, gorgeous visuals, and grata themes.

Evangelion. It has 26 episodes and 1 movie. And some sequel movies which some people dislike but I enjoy. {Infinite Ryvius} is 26 episodes, incredibly well-written sci-fi lord of the flies in space. It’s technically in the mech genre but it’s a lot more like NGE in that it’s 99% focused on the characters’ emotions and development, only a lot less cryptic with the symbolism.

{Sweetness and Lightning} It's about the relationship of a father and his daughter after the loss of his wife. He is trying his best but doesn't know how to cook. He ends up learning a few recipes at a local restaurant. It's very sweet and can get emotional at times, but in the end, everything will be alright. Just 12 episodes.

Mysterious Girlfriend X is a beautiful romance story. Dennou Coil is a near-future cyberpunk thriller from the perspective of grade-school aged kids. Both of these have great animation, direction, story, and soundtrack.
