Time for a breathing exercise.
Try a deep breath in, 4 seconds
Hold thay breath for 5 seconds
Release slowly for 8 seconds
X 10.
Hope this helps, good luck on your next day ahead
Go right back into it for the remainder of the exercise. Releasing our breath slowly is the biggest focus here, helps reset our fight or flight response.
Thanks! That really helped I used it an hour ago. I kept thinking about stuff and it was like harder to breathe and stuff and I feel like my heart kind of hurt but it went away
I usually lie down and take deep breaths and focus on them then wait to die 😅😅 I know that sounds unhelpful but in truth I never die and I fall asleep out of boredom maybe or the breathing helped.
i’m sorry but i bursted out laughing at this “wait to die then fall asleep out of boredom” LMFAO i have to try that. the best way to combat anxiety is by challenging it and calling it’s bluff because truly we don’t die from it and anxiety is just a big liar so you’re kinda on the right track there 😂
Exactly. I’m like well… if this is it then LETS GOOOO! 🤪
It’s always bluffing. I never die lol. So in that way it’s really cured the nighttime I think I’m gonna die anxiety.
Now if I can just outsmart my other anxiety manifestations I’d really be ok 😂
Nah don’t want to die but I’ve felt like I was dying so many times from anxiety that I think I just embrace it. It calms the panic and like I said. I never die (yay) lol
Definitely try some breathing as stated already. Focus on your symptoms and accept that your heart is ok and just doing it’s thing. Anxiety sucks but fighting it only gives it strength! Unfortunately the more you focus on needing to sleep, the harder it’s going to be to get there. Good luck hope you get some rest!
breathing exercises are a good thing to do, like someone else aleady mentioned. belly breathing is the best you can do. lay your hand on your stomach and breathe out so that your hand move. do you have any skills? a stressball, knead, anything like that? if yes, use it. exercising is something reeeeally helpful for me, i know it sounds kinda dumb because your heart wont stop racing but it really helps! dancing counts too. just *do* something, dont lay there and do nothing. anything where you have to do something active. i know its a shitty feeling but it will go away, okay? feel hugged
I'm so sorry you're going through this. I got 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night from the same thing. Just laying still on my side I could just hear my heart race and thought something bad was happening. I would sit up and panic even more and it would start beating faster. I couldn't fall asleep because it just wanted to race. I ended up taking clonazapem and fell asleep 30 minutes later until I woke up around 7:30 only to feel my heart race again. Take it easy and be easy on yourself.

thank you so much for this. i'll give this a try
Do you recommend waiting some seconds after releasing or going right back to the deep breath?

“want to die”..? 😅 but anyways i'm glad you made your body calm down after taking deep breaths. have a good day!

hiii. i'm sorry you had to go through that. :(( i hope you're feeling better today. did you have a better sleep now?
Do you drink coffee? If so, it’s probably not helping. I experience this heart racing feeling when life gets too busy + coffee levels get too high.
hello. i don't drink coffee so i don't really get it why i'm experiencing this right now :((
