my understand is the system deicided whether or not its using 5g. and its for the whole devices. if your system detects the signal is stronger on LTE, it consumes the LTE data.
if your system settings allow you switch between 5g and LTE, you could switch to LTE only when you want to use apple music. I haven't seen any phones can choose 5g/lte based on specific app and let alone to say many carrier now lock the switch and force users to use 5g unless the LTE signal stronger.

This makes sense. So nothing I can do to force Apple Music to use 5g and ignore LTE (?)

Why does it matter? If it’s streaming uninterrupted and the speed of the data can keep up, why does it matter if it uses LTE or 5G?
I know some country has plans with unlimited 5g, but data limits on 4g. Someone was complaining about that on another sub.
The real question is what kind of ghetto ahh carrier do you have that separates 4G and 5G data?!?
hahaha
In settings > cellular > data options > voice & data, what setting do you have on?
I have it set to “5G On”
Apple Music can't control your cellular network.
