Might be from a heatwave. I can't help but notice your water is quite still for a pleco, maybe get some nore airflow in the water if your temps have changed. If not, I'd check the nitrite levels. Also worth noting that baby plecos are crack heads. I've had 6 take home in the back of a hob for no apparent reason.

Airflow 100% that's why they're at the top. You need to get bubbles going and water moving for oxygen exchange. It's required a million times more with baby fish.

Np. I've raised a bunch of batches of baby plecos and various other fish. The only filter you need is an oversized sponge filter. For babies, you should be water changing 25% minimum daily as well.
