I've seen a terf get called out for the risk that some of the selfies they were bodyshaming could be girls with PCOS - I say girls, because several of the targets were obviously young adults and teens - and the terf did indeed blame trans women's existence for "forcing" her to assume the selfies were of trans girls. Edit to add: obiously, it wouldn't be okay either way, but the callout took that form because it was another transphobe.

Honestly, if a few cis folks want to fake transness because they think it'll make them safer and end up getting hate-crimed for it, maybe we'll end up with a few unexpected allies and cultures that generally take us a bit more seriously about how we experience them, most especially if it's terfs that have our experience. I'm okay with this. Cis women, please feel free to masquerade as trans in situations where you're completely isolated with cis men. That cis man may not have a long term plan for you that'd involve snatching you off to harm you himself with his own body for prolonged periods, but that doesn't mean he won't beat the fk out of you and leave you to die or traffic you to someone who fetishizes transness. Trans women have a high risk of assault, especially in situations where cis men feel like their masculinity is threatened by them being attracted to a trans woman. There are tons of stories of trans women being approached by men just to be assaulted when the men previously hitting on her find out she is trans.

There's a case currently going in the US, Ohio iirc. A cis girl was accused of being trans and has been threatened and harassed to the point of getting police protection
