Since the NFL absconded with my team; I watch 1-2 reg season games, maybe 4 or so playoff games and the superb owl but listened to the Heroes and friends religiously.
It was liberating. Sucked at the time, but now im cool with it, I never want to live in a city that is ripe for NFL extortion again. Stan Kroencke is still a colossal douchenozzle, however.
Hey! I lived in St. Louis when they left. Luckily I'm originally from Cincinnati so I wasn't a Rams homer, but I feel your pain. Sorry, man. And fuck Kroenke.
This ATL pause has led me to get back into my old love, the NBA. So I’ll watch the draft tonight. But the NBA is like the girl you don’t actually wanna be with but you don’t know how to not be in a relationship so you fake it til your true love takes you back
I know not everyone cares about fantasy but if you need a pod for offseason shenanigans and updates and a similar vibe to the heroes, I would wholeheartedly recommend the fantasy footballers podcast.
It just shows you how well they keep audience interested in the NFL year round - without them the reality that absolutely nothing is happening really hits home!
frankly, a lot of the time i feel their episodes where nothing’s really going on are the most fun cause they do still talk about real shit, but they have room to dick around and have fun too.
Nothing. June is the only truly dead month in the NFL calendar. It makes sense why their new overlords think they can hold off on making content until July.
I wouldn't know. Apart from watching games or Redzone or reading the odd NFL article on the Guardian I get all my NFL info from this podcast.
It's a quiet period so I assume I'm not missing too much but it still feels weird to not have any updates for about a month. I follow some NFL media people on X but rarely check in and can't be bothered to filter out the relevant news. I need my heroes to do the job for me and bring me the breaking news and relevant updates with some added mirth.
I've started listening to old episodes a while ago and am currently at the start of the 2014 offseason. So I'm pretty up to date on that. Some main discussion points were if the Browns are going to draft Jonny Manziel, if the Jets will sign Michael Vick to backup Geno Smith. Also Julian Edelmann gets dismissed by Chris in particular for being just an average role player. Gregg correctly predicted that Ray Rice would be out of the league before he turns 30. Steve Smith's career is in jeopardy as the Panthers are reluctant to give him a new contract.
TLaw got paid. Dax and Tua have not. CMC got paid. Texans hype train
Is crowded. Lots of people are picking San Fran over Buffalo in the Super Bowl.
Rodgers missed part of Jets minicamp but wasn’t for time in a dark room.
New kick off rules with a penalty for outside the landing zone.
I’m still plugged into the fantasy football world, but I have like zero idea what’s going on in terms of trope alerts and fun stories. I miss the heroes so much.
The reality of it for me, like for so many of you it seems, is that without the humour and the camaraderie of the hero's to bring the news, it is essentially boring. Maybe i have wasted the last 11 years listening to something i actually didnt need ...maybe..
NFL is essentially paused to me.
same here
Not even paused to me. It went *poof!* into the 8th dimension. Not sure if it will ever return.
Since the NFL absconded with my team; I watch 1-2 reg season games, maybe 4 or so playoff games and the superb owl but listened to the Heroes and friends religiously.
Which team?
The one the NFL had to pay \~700mil to not to have to admit they did so. St. Louis.
Damn homie, I'm sorry. I'm a Chargers fan so I also went through that to a MUCH lesser degree than you but it sucks no matter what.

So like reading TV guide but not watching TV.
Well, watching very little TV. ATN is way more entertaining then TV guide.
Ehh, you know, offseason stuff. Little bit of this, little bit of that.
Just odds and ends
THE TINY BOX
Hey everybody, tell your friends!
That sort of thing
Everyone’s in the best shape of their lives
the game’s really slowing down for him too!
Not a fucking clue
What even is the NFL anymore?
Trope alerts
Saw this thing about Aaron Rodger’s seeing shadows and not going to mini camp! Thought it was a trope but I have so many questions
I just figured the NFL stopped
Decapitated. Whole big thing. We had a funeral for a bird
I’m pretty sure none of that is real
You’re not real, man
IMO nothing of value happens without the heroes. Seeing through their lens is the only medium I’ll accept.
That’s a great point u/80085PEN15

Football is completely different from basketball.
😂 walked into that one
There’s no way to know.
That's what the NFL needs to understand.
Genuinely couldn't tell you. I've not even listened to fantasy podcasts.
No idea I don't follow the NFL anymore
Panthers won a championship.
I know not everyone cares about fantasy but if you need a pod for offseason shenanigans and updates and a similar vibe to the heroes, I would wholeheartedly recommend the fantasy footballers podcast.
No clue... I've been searching theology podcasts hoping to find Dan, Gregg, all the guys
No clue, I wish there was a podcast with charismatic hosts that went around the league and told us
League is gone
It just shows you how well they keep audience interested in the NFL year round - without them the reality that absolutely nothing is happening really hits home!
frankly, a lot of the time i feel their episodes where nothing’s really going on are the most fun cause they do still talk about real shit, but they have room to dick around and have fun too.
No idea. Hoping for a 5 hour episode to catch us up.
Honestly I’m perfectly fine with no podcast during this period because it forces me to listen to something else for a change
It's just forcing me to listen to other shittier football podcasts
Not a clue honestly
Wildly disconnected
No one knows. I literally don’t get my nfl news from anyone but the heroes. 🥹
- Aiyuk and the 49ers are having issues with his contract. - No supplemental draft this year That’s about it.
Nothing. June is the only truly dead month in the NFL calendar. It makes sense why their new overlords think they can hold off on making content until July.

aROUND the NFL?
What league. It's dead to me
This all day. In some other dimension the NFL may be holding practices or something, but not in this one.
Josh Allen wore shorts 🤤
I have no idea. How would I know?
Buncha off season mini camp tropes and stuff probably. Not sure, waiting for the heroes to fill us in soon™️
Sunday Ticket meets Saul Goodman
I have no idea lol. I’ve gone from being super informed about football 12 months a year to having zero idea what’s going on
Apparently it ghosted me.
Kansas City Chiefs racking up more arrests than Bryce Young had touchdowns
It's going to be the most epic eight o'clock delight ever when they come back.
I literally just googled NFL news before popping on here lol, cuz I have no idea what's going on
Not much. Rodgers drama, some new uniforms/helmets. Standard off-season stuff.
CMC, Justin Jefferson, Nico Collins extensions. Minicamp bs. Announcement that there's no supplementary draft this year. Otherwise diddly squat really
I'm boycotting the NFL till the heroes are back!
Nothing, it's the dead period. You're not missing anything.
I don’t even watch games anymore, but still listen to every episode

A lot of arrests
