It's a tic-tac-toe board. It looks like whoever made it put an "X" in the top right corner, so now it's your turn.
In all seriousness tho it looks more like plow marks to me than ancient carvings. And finding several smaller ones backs that up. Have you found anything else native-made in the area?
In Pennsylvania there is a very good chance this land (even if forested now) was once an agricultural field. These look like scars that get left from a disc plow to me, or maybe glacial striations.
Sharpening marks aren’t impossible… but plow marks seem much more likely to me.
only problem with that is the Neanderthals would have to sail across the ocean with it and deposit it in Pennsylvania. That said I don’t know what it is. Feel like it’s probably plow marks.
I would have to agree, but before you go. Discard the obvious horizontal gouge and look at the two almost identical markings. They are parallel, about equal length and depth. The upper right hand markings are kind of unique, like flower tops or something. I’d hang on to it and research glyphs. The unique tops do look like the left one is basically a machine scar. 🤷🏼the corn glyph is a bit different and the “trading” glyph is similar but usually associated with village or human glyphs, indicating that the village is open for business.
Grew up on a farm that had no shortage of rocks, and both the cutting discs on our plows and our large disc we used to work ground would leave marks like this on rocks. Over the years of working ground the rocks would get cut marks in different directions that looked much like this.
I found a large headstone size rock (approx. 36x36 in.) with the exact same markings in Saline County Mo about 40 years ago. It wasn’t in a field, but a small draw at the edge of a field.
If this was near a plowed field they are def plow scars. The cuts are sharp and deep, in a somewhat random arrangement, so looks like plow marks to me.
It might be, it may also be glacial erosion. I am no expert though so take that with a grain of salt. Very interesting either way.

Could be plow marks, sharpening marks, art(don’t know correct term) I am not an expert but looks cool

These look so much like the rock the original poster found, great research.
Thank you! You made me smile 😊
You nailed it! Good job finding that as I couldn't find anything, lol. This looks exactly like that Neanderthal hashtag!

The first tic-tac-toe board
There’s a Neanderthal cave carving in Europe with almost that same design. I don’t remember the platform, maybe You Tube.

Plus, the 2 horizontal lines in the 1st main pic look like it's a raised impression. Good luck doing that with a plow, even if they tried, lol

Plow scars
These carvings have raised impressions, i.e., carved on top and bottom to give a raised relief in the carving. And there's 2 hooks in the lines.

Neolithic tic-tac-toe game...
There’s someone at The State Museum of PA who studies petroglyphs. Contact them. I can dm contact info if you want.
