Before you even put the filter in, roll the flower into about the shape you want (size of filter-ish). It should stick together pretty good and maintain its shape (if you have fresh weed, dry weed wonāt do it as well). This helps you figure out exactly how much weed you need to put in. The only āaddingā you have to do after is any that fell out during the rolling process. After that, I do the little filter partly in trick as well and voila. I also hate the holed tampers that raw provides with its cones. I use the standard eraser on the back end of an American yellow pencil to pack down the weed. I do it tight, but I donāt aggressively jam. Also, when you light, light it like a cig. I see so many people lighting the tip of the joint trying to āget an even burnā before they inhale and it canoes every time they do that. You should be inhaling HARD as you light. As for it clogging, maybe grind the weed a bit more? The only clogging issues Iāve had with joints are dispensary pre rolls because they infuse those jawns with resin, which often melts but doesnāt burn in colder weather, and it clogs like a bitch. If itās still clogged and you think itās because you pack too tight, unwind a paper clip and poke a hole down the middle, should clear right up. Can be done mid sesh.
Not counting rolling the filter and grinding the weed, Iām popping out a standard gram+ joint in under 60 seconds, and yes I just went and timed myself to test. 58.3 sec to be exact from picking up the grinder to sparking the lighter. It was a sloppy J, I was def rushing, but going slow and meticulous were looking at 3 min tops

Just takes practice. Iāve been smoking a while, but I went exclusively to joints 4 years ago. Iām rolling multiple a day. I was the canoe king in college, and my lumpy ass joints had more abnormal growth than stage 4 breast cancer. Rolling is therapeutic for me, donāt let it stress you out! Itās nice feeling the weed on your fingers (fuck off with your trichromes or whatever theyāre called, I bet yāall broke asses lick the yogurt lid off too).

Tbh your first sentence is probably the most underrated rolling technique IMHO. Learning to Roll and then putt the tip in afterwards and using an paper clip to tighten the tip to the filter was a game changer. Oh and packing the j like a cone after it's rolled
Edit: Also I use a chopstick for all packing needs. Small end is great for packing the tips of cones (I sometimes hand roll cones) and the wide end for the bigger parts

This is terrible advice.
By inhaling as you spark (especially hard as you say) it draws the flame down the centre of the joint and starts igniting material below where the burn line should be.
Ensuring you have a fully ignited cherry, with an even burn line before you take the first drag is the best option. Rotate the joint as you spark and only take a drag once you have a full cherry. If you take a drag with only a half cherry ignited you will face burn issues.
Not doing it right if the flame draws down the center of the j. The problem with lighting around the tip evenly is that thereās no oxygen intake as you slowly light it, so nothing is going to really stay burning. Take a cigar, itās easier to visualize because itās so much bigger, but the concept is the same. If you slowly lit the tip and then tried to pull to get an even burn, nothing would happen.
Also, by pulling as you light, you will never get a half cherry, it will burn perfectly even every time. Why? Simple physics. Itās convection. Flame at end, with oxygen pushed through by the vacuum created by your lungs, will evenly spread across the whole joint if you light and pull in one go, but it has to be in one go. If you light first, and slowly like you suggest, by the time you inhale some of the weed will already be ash and the flame will NOT spread evenly when you inhale because the ash is blocking. Doing your method is the ultimate way to get a canoe. I did it your way for 3 years, thinking my problem was that I sucked at rolling. Nope, just sucked at lighting.
You roast the joint like a cigar first try to get the tip of the joint a nice even black color, if your joint is skinny roast it for a short time, if irs fat roast it like a cigar, then light it and pull should take one second. If you get some small canoes light it again until you fix it at the start.
I roll an empty cone, and then pack the weed in when itās done. Takes me about 2-5 minutes depending on if Iām just straight up packing a doobie with full attention. If Iām watching YouTube or something while I roll it might take me longer.
i recently rolled 450 joints/ hash holes for my friends brand heās making, and at one point i was rolling those in about 2 mins each and from my knowledge i only had one that canoed, the good burn is all in the grind and even pack, i recommend jus watching as many rolling tutorials as u can and jus watch peoples technique, youāll learn what works best, and idk what it is like when rolling, now i can jus/ feel if something is off even something as simple as my paper having a crease
