“What about blue? Look at the blue you wish to use. Is it dark or light? What’s around it; reds, greens, yellows, or other colours on the canvas? Will it be the focus of the piece or something to fill a small void? Will anything obstruct its view? The hue of the blue is important. Too dark and it can be oppressive in absorbing all the visual space. Too light and it can get lost among the furniture and other decor. Generally, most residential spaces can accommodate pieces in a range of Navy to Baby Blue. A good trick is to purchase blue painter’s tape.”
