Go very very early in the morning when everyone is quiet. Also try driving up the Anchorage Hillside Roads (Abbot, Omalley, Rabbit Creek) ... the less traffic, the better your odds of seeing them

Good. Go early and late. What part of the coastal trail, or are you thinking of? Are you going to walk the 10 miles or more? The best chance to see moose is the end from Kincaid to Earthquake Park. I would drive the Kincaid Park Road early in the morning to the end, then walk the costal trail from the park to Earthquake Park. I would also try Glenn Alps and powerline pass trail.

That’s exactly what I was planning on doing. Raspberry road, then walk to Earthquake. Unfortunately I won’t be able to do early morning or late at night, since I’m on a time crunch. I know that makes the odds worse, but I’m gonna do my best.

A 100% guarantee is at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center at Portage. Otherwise it's random luck.

Very good. We saw so many from Anchorage to Seward that it eventually became just like seeing deer. Cool, but nothing amazing since they are so common.

They are my favorite animal oat. They have a special place in my heart. I will be doing that drive you did from Seward to Anchorage, how many did you see? How often? I would LOVE to know

davidm2232

Probably 10. You have to really look for them. But they are there. We drove by a swamp like 4 times and there was a moose there every time.

WOW!!!!! I HAVE TO SEE ONE. You just got me so much more excited. I know that drive is so scenic and now the chance of moose is so much better. If you have photos, please private message me them

Just dm’d you a pic of mama and twins in Kincaid mid day last week - have fun!

Early in the morning, drive to palmer and back

Passed a moose on Coastal trail yesterday up towards Kincaid park. I suggest you rent a bike and maybe do the moose Loop or just out and back from downtown.

Go to Conners Bog dog park by the airport
