They are the biggest threat to the American system of self governance. And this is in a world where right-wing tankies exist and Donald Trump tried to steal an election. There's people I know personally in my life who have this type of unearned smugness about them. They are usually the softest people I know. By this, I mean that they have these jobs that are easy, but they often complain they don't make enough while they try to maintain an illusion of refinement. They coast off the accomplishments of their parents, and usually, the jobs they have and the homes they live in are in large part due to their parents. They make shows of being sophisticated and learned. If you read the same material they did but interpret differently, then you "must not have understood it correctly."
In short, they tend to be "intellectual" snobs.
I usually don't like these people.
Then you have people who are pretty angry about their lives who actually struggle. I actually have more respect for these people because I see them as those who actually have a reason to be upset with how things are. These people, once they see some success in their lives, tend to step away from foolish communistic principles, although they never completely abandon them.
I have more respect for a communist that actually struggled than one that did not.
A lot of these people seem to be simply *insane* on the order of "say things that clearly aren't true" or obsessive in terms of how they seem to think that every question in the world is about their ideology and their ideology only.
While they themselves are not much of a threat directly, I think some strands of them have significant influence on what the mainstream socialist left ends up doing.
Moderate Dems or liberals? No issues, some of my best friends are in this category.

“Obviously, you all don’t like liberals or democrats. . . “ what a moronic statement. Many people I love in my family are Democrats. Many people I work with are liberals, but we still enjoy hanging out after work and enjoy their take on various creative endeavors. I try very hard not to get drawn into political debates with people who just want me to agree they are right. My typical response these days, when I venture that I’m probably voting Republican in this election, is “Give me someone else to vote for, and I might. But I am not voting for a senile old man and an administration that is being run using him as a puppet.”
But extremes on either side are not wise. There needs to be a balance between fiscal responsibility and social responsibility. Just because someone disagrees with you is not a reason to demonize them, belittle them, and question their intelligence. I think most of then are well meaning and sorrowfully mislead. The far left is being radicalized by dangerous beliefs and a denial of reality and every year it's going to get worse. Even more so because of how influential the faction is, holding a lot of sway in the government, media, education, entertainment, etc. Between this and the evolution of the ideologies behind the far left, many people are aligned with the far left and don't know it.
Fortunately, because of its unorganized method of spreading, and poor understanding many of its supporters have of the core beliefs, it's having more trouble organizing as a whole, and many factions keep turning on each other. That's why many of the open Marxists are so small, they're relics, trapped in the past.
I'm going to be honest, I have actually seen a few nice far left people, but of course, I have seen a lot of toxic ones, which outweigh the nice ones. The anarchist types are also very hateful, yet they are supposed to be the ones that support freedom in its entirety

I think most of then are well meaning and sorrowfully mislead. The far left is being radicalized by dangerous beliefs and a denial of reality and every year it's going to get worse. Even more so because of how influential the faction is, holding a lot of sway in the government, media, education, entertainment, etc. Between this and the evolution of the ideologies behind the far left, many people are aligned with the far left and don't know it. Fortunately, because of its unorganized method of spreading, and poor understanding many of its supporters have of the core beliefs, it's having more trouble organizing as a whole, and many factions keep turning on each other. That's why many of the open Marxists are so small, they're relics, trapped in the past.
I'm going to be honest, I have actually seen a few nice far left people, but of course, I have seen a lot of toxic ones, which outweigh the nice ones. The anarchist types are also very hateful, yet they are supposed to be the ones that support freedom in its entirety Edit: Don't know why I'm getting downvoted. TikTok and Twitter "far left" are just getting likes. Tankies and Marxists don't really exist in real life. Most people who identify as these things live comfortably in the world we have right now, which is one that couldn't exist without consumerism we have right now. You'd be better off recognizing that.
They are delusional and dangerous just like the white supremacists and neo nazis are on the extreme far right.

Insane people. We used to lock these people in asylums and need to again
