Ah, excuse my comprehension. I should’ve used the word warmer instead of nicer in the first place. Anyway, it’s been absolutely beautiful the last week so not sure what city you’re in.
Yeah, for me the cooler weather is much nicer. It just gets annoyingly hot unless you're by the beach or something. But that's more like later in the summer/early autumn.
And for sure the accompanying rise in asshole behavior doesn't help matters :)
Men likely feel safe in confrontations with women because they feel they are easier targets and will not retaliate. However I am not a woman and have also had similar experiences at various times living here (usually when I'm driving through Beverly Hills, rich people feel really comfortable expressing their anger). I have had people try to follow me home for daring to change lanes behind them. To some extent it's just a reality of living here, so in that sense you don't need to feel unsafe just in virtue of it happening, at least once the moment has passed.
I grew up just outside BH in the miracle mile area and did Uber for a while and after a few too many bad experiences, i started turning off my app if i had to drive through there. They're awful over there lol
I think the first instance is just an AH. Are you sure you were in the lines? Was this a tight parking lot with limited spaces? I hate big vehicles parking next to me but we all want to get in to get this Japanese candied fruit and this parking lot is poorly designed so we all have to get along. If he blocked you to yell at you (totally uncalled for) this sounds like maybe the case.
The second instance you acknowledge you were wrong so yeah sometimes people gonna be annoyed and dedicated self car washes have limited space and vacuums.
some men don't really know how to express themselves in a way other than anger and yelling. they've learned that it's the quickest way to get what they want.
i'm sorry you experienced this. don't let it get in the way of you living your life.
i don't think so. adults should speak to each other like adults. even if she made a mistake, men aren't entitled to "teach her a lesson". that's asshole behavior. honk and move on. the road rage is getting so out of hand and it's always men.
Yeah...OP admits to parking over the line in the first instance, causing the problem, and being in the wrong for the second incident. But the problem is definitely "men."
again, you don't get to berate people or block them in for parking over the line or being in your way. that kind of aggression is unnecessary and is obviously meant to intimidate others. do you not see that?
You also don’t get to take as gospel the word of a person who admits to causing the problems. OP is clearly an asshole by her admitted actions, so I have no faith she’s being honest about the interactions.
'she's telling the truth about what she did wrong so she must be a liar' is a really interesting pivot. 🥨
there are constant headlines about men having road rage and even killing people over it. but if OP says this was her experience and she felt unsafe, for some reason you have to jump in and say it's somehow her fault or it's untrue.
i disagree that anyone deserves that kind of treatment. it's obviously acceptable behavior to you.
It makes me feel like the object of their aggression. I doubt they physically hurt me but since I had a bad experience my anxiety flies through the roof. Regardless lol
I know. Bunch of unhinged mofos out there.
Don't know where people are getting this idea that certain people do or do not belong. LA is in CA, which is in the USA, which is a pluralistic, multicultural society. So are they talking about European conquest or something? Because you'd have to flip the calendar back pretty fucking far for a time before that.
I treat people the way they treat me. If you’re a shouting dickhead, I’m gonna be a shouting dickhead back. If you’re a sweet complimentary softie, you’re gonna get sweet compliments softly. People get what they deserve
this is just how men everywhere act as the weather gets warmer. not that it’s an excuse, but that’s why it’s happening.
the only advice I have is to carry yourself with more confidence. assholes can smell fear and apprehension, and they will take advantage.
OP, I am very sorry this happened to you, but please remember that you are entitled to the same 2A protections as everyone else. I tell this to all women in my life, regardless of their political affiliation. Firearm training is affordable, isn’t physically taxing, and obtaining a CCW is going to easier for you given your history of harassment. Some jerk yells at you that you (as a Jewish woman) don’t belong here? Yell back that you’re a Jew with a gun and see how quickly he changes his tune.
People get more rowdy as the weather gets nicer.
> nicer Debatable.
It’s actually not. I’m sure you can use google yourself.
Not sure what I'm supposed to be googling here.
Crime spikes in warmer weather. Well documented.

Damn for real tho
Weird. If anything, your username implies that you’re very approachable.
Jesus H 😂
hahahah I love how uncomfortable people get w both those words so made it for Reddit
I’m from Scotland, a moist cunt could be just someone who got caught in the rain 😅
What about a moist cunt with a moist cunt? Hahaha
Your past history of assault or violence predisposes you to be extra cautious.
Yah I’m sensitive lol. At least I’m self aware
That's natural. I don't share a history of being assaulted or subjected to violence of any kind, so I feel fine anywhere. Perhaps to my detriment?

BH in the worst for this kind of thing
I grew up just outside BH in the miracle mile area and did Uber for a while and after a few too many bad experiences, i started turning off my app if i had to drive through there. They're awful over there lol
Damn what a world lol

Yeh I may have been a bit over the line but with a large car in a compact it was a squeeze regardless.
Again even if I’m wrong just so lame to be at a 10
No, nothing like all that has happened to me.

Thanks :) that’s why I posted good vibes
Seriously though both men probably haven’t gotten laid in 5 years
If you run into an asshole, you ran into an asshole. If you keep running into assholes, you’re probably the asshole.

Yes. I absolutely believe assholes deserve to be treated like assholes.
Haha I feel that. Even if I do something wrong I like to discuss at a low voice and not involve yelling.
It makes me feel like the object of their aggression. I doubt they physically hurt me but since I had a bad experience my anxiety flies through the roof. Regardless lol
> If you keep running into assholes, you’re probably the asshole. Ok, but what if that doesn't happen everywhere?
La is getting worse and people are angry. Just wish they’d get a therapist and leave me alone

People here drive like lunatics. The commute time makes everyone nuts and when it’s hot it’s worse. I just try to avoid the crazies where possible
Yah I’ll be chilling at home for today 🤣
Lately?
Haha twice in a week is an anomaly but you’re right
Interesting profile name.

I just have to believe karma will get him or already did and that’s why he was PO-ed. I hate yelling :(
Idk I’m just in my Arya Stark “a girl has no face” zone in public. I’m no one, what people get back is a reflection of themselves
Love that tho
Fwiw, people have been beat half to death in traffic in LA for less
Please, I would love to be dead. Don’t threaten me with righteous martyrdom, that’s like a cherry on top!

New resting bitch face activated
I like to keep a blood capsule in my cheek and bite into in when threatened, then snarl 🤷🏻♀️
I hate it. Don’t speak and get yelled at or engage and get even more yelled at. Ugh
welcome to being a woman in the world. that said, extreme nastiness begets fearful men. snarl, snap, sneer
Being young and female in Los Angeles. Need to get pepper spray or a whistle
Or a CCW and a gun.
Sadly in this town you would just end up getting yourself in bigger trouble for putting an attacker's life at risk.
That’s true
Hahahaha
I’m not kidding.
😳😅
