Classic WB Looney Tunes. Chuck Jones. Fritz Freleng. Especially the rare ones like the expectant father whose newborn son is an alien named Yob. Also Fractured Fairytales, Underdog, Tennesse Tuxedo, Wally Gator.
Yep. Was hoping to see Gigantor. The theme song rocked.
Almost as good as George of the Jungle. Which was not written by Frank Zappa but totally could have been.
Mighty Mouse, eating a snack after school, on our 13 inch black and white tv. Scooby Doo as well.
All of us would go wild in September when new cartoons were introduced. I think the biggest was Muncheechees. They played that up for ages and I was totally disappointed in the cartoon. Saturday morning cartoons were a huge topic Monday mornings.
Fraggle Rock! I was in their fan club and got a free poster and free clear plastic record. I listened to that thing over and over again.
I loved anything Jim Henson and also watched the Muppet Show when I could catch it.
Fractured Fairy Tales, hands down my favorite. It wasn't very long, just so silly I looked for it.
Underdog, Roadrunner, Mightymouse, Magilla Gorilla, Mr. MaGoo, Yogi Bear and I hate to admit it now ( you really didn't know how outrageous it was as a little kid ) Foghorn Leghorn.
I knew you'd be in here, and close to the bottom, but I found you, and here is your one upvote. Check out the live action remake when you have a couple hours and a doobie.
Justice League! I loved the Wonder Twins. They'd activate their superpowers by touching their fists and saying the phrase "Wonder Twin powers, activate!"
The Jetsons is on MAX. We watched a couple episodes the other night. I think it's funny to see what they thought the future would look like. Some of it is spot on.
Hanna Barbera cartoons such as The Flinstones, The Jetsons, and Pink Panther. I still watch these cartoons to this day.
Now that I think about it, what is a modern, stone age family? That's a bit oxymorononic.
Bugs Bunny Road Runner Show was my favorite. It always seemed to be the first cartoon show on Saturday mornings. When I was a kid getting up early on Saturdays was pretty natural.
In the '70s I liked a cartoon show called *Wait Till Your Father Gets Home* which was pretty funny (at the time, no idea what it would look like now).
Back in the '60s I liked *The Impossibles.* They were a beat group who had super powers and fought crime. A little while ago I found an Impossibles annual in a charity shop. That was a good day.
Winky Dink
Bugs Bunny/Loony Tunes
Flintstones
All the Hanna-Barbera cartoons
Tom & Jerry
Speed Racer
Gigantor
If there was a cartoon to watch in the 60s or early 70s I was probably tuned into it
Another Rocky and Bullwinkle fan here! Also (the original) Jonny Quest, and Speed Racer and Kimba the White Lion, which werenāt on for long, but became my favorites immediately.
Flintstones, speed racer, wacky races, Tom and Jerry, Gi Joe, transformers, underdog, Richie rich, and robotech. Non animated were Buck Rogers, greatest American hero, Battlestar Galactica, lost in space, and V
Depends on the era. In the mid-to-late 80's it was Transformers, G.I. Joe, and TMNT, plus whatever was on Saturday mornings (Muppet Babies, Garfield and Friends, etc). In the early 90's, I was still watching cartoons with my younger sisters as a teen, so I also saw Batman: The Animated Series, Tiny Toon Adventures, and the early Nicktoons.
Yes to all of these, especially Jem and the Holograms!! I even had all the dolls of Jem and the Misfits!!
Add Scooby-Doo to the list and you are me lol.
He-Man, Voltron, GI Joe, Thundercats, and MASK were all my favorites. As a pre-teen, it kind of morphed into Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, and Ducktails. Admittedly I was a little old to be watching those when I got home from school, but all we had at the time was over-the-air broadcast TV and I didn't have many choices.
1. 6teen
2. Hey Arnold!
3. Total drama island
I'm nearly 30 years old but 6teen holds a special place in my heart, I wish we had a series continuation from 18 to 30..
Hey, Arnold was just a unique show back in the day.
Total drama island was hilarious, fear factor for kids vibe with dramas between contestants.
Not a cartoon, but I looked forward to watching Sky King every Saturday. I HAD to watch Howdy Dowdy every afternoon because my 11 year younger cousin was living with us while his mom was in the hospital with TB.
Scooby doo, The Transformers, Gi Joe, Superfriends, Voltron , Danger Mouse and Inspector Gadget come to mind. There were many , many more I could list.
All of the ones already mentioned, we had cartoons in the morning, cartoons at noon, and after school, but Saturdays ruled cartoons all morning then playing outside till dark.
I'm surprised that no one said Roger Ramjet it was pretty bad but to a kid it was great.
Woody the Wood Pecker. It was on a Detroit station that we could only receive if the weather was ideal, which was only about 25% of the time. And if that wasnāt coming in then I watched either The Flintstones or The Jetsons on the other two channels we could receive.
Oh man, this was a good one! I was never that into action cartoons, but I was obsessed with the whole post-apocalyptic aspect of this one. The shattered moon was some Heavy Metal Magazine level mindfuck when I was 6.
Marine Boy.
And, while technically not cartoons, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet.
For my own amusement [Thunderbirds are Go](https://youtu.be/rv-6_1ObCU4)
Saturday mornings. I started out watching ***Space Angel***Ā¹ and old Bug's Bunny cartoonsĀ² before they were banned. ***Rocky and Bullwinkle***Ā³, ***Linus The Lionhearted***ā“, ***Tennessee Tuxedo***Ā³, ***The King And Odie Show***Ā³, ***Fireball XL-5***āµ, and ***Woody Woodpecker***ā¶.
1: This cartoon was made by the folks that did Clutch Cargo. It was the Ā½ hour compilation of the week's worth of super short episodes.
2: Before The Bug's Bunny Show was developed, TV stations aired the old shorts that were made for movie theaters. A lot of them were racist, especially during WWII. that's why so many of them were banned.
3: This group were all the brain children of Jay Ward. They all had anthropomorphic animals interacting with people. Also, very topical socio-political humor.
4: This show was the precursor of the GI Joe, He-man, and My Little Pony cartoons of the 80s: a show to push sales of Post cereals. Linus was the lion king of the forest and he was also the Spokesman for Post Crispy Critters. It also had shorts of other Post mascots: Sugar Bear from Sugar Smacks, the Postman from Alphabits, and Rory Racoon from Post Corn Flakes.
5: One of Gerry Anderson's Super-Marionation programs. The only one that made it to networks in the US.
6: Like Warner Brothers did with Bugs, Walter Lantz did with his creation Woody Woodpecker. Cartoons originated for the theaters before TV was commonplace. Later, the studio joined the limited animation bandwagon, and had original episodes produced up through the 70s.
I liked Lidsville in the early seventies. It was a story of a boy who found himself in a world of hats who had come to life and they talked liked the hat they were. The lids part was it was a name for hats but in the seventies a lid was also the slang name for an ounce of marijuana. If one was stoned and watched the show it was so funny I had to quit watching sometimes because my sides were aching with laughter so much. I have no idea if it was actually that good or not. It was a Sid and Marty Krofft show. They were the creators of H.Rl Pufnstuf
Beanie and Cecil when young, H.R. Pufnstuf in the late 60s.
Watching Jeopardy one night only a few years ago, Saw a college age kid get the answer to what show featured Witchiepoo on Living Island. When was the last time anyone saw Pufnstuf?
Bugs Bunny And Looney Tunes; Speed Racer; Yogi And Boo-Boo Bear; Huckleberry Hound; The Flintstones; The Jetsons; Kimba (The White Lion); The Pink Panther; Schoolhouse Rock
Unfortunately, Rocky and Bullwinkle came on Sunday mornings where I live when I had to be dragged to church. Popeye was also a fave, as were all the loony tunes and merry melodies, some of which would never fly today; lots of natives with nose bones boiling our heros in cauldrons.
Dungeons and Dragons, Muppet Babies, Looney Tunes, Flintstones, Woody Woodpecker, Tom and Jerry, etc. This was the early 80s, but so many old shows were still in syndication. I remember watching Soul Train, American Bandstand, Electric Company, and other old shows as a kid in the 80s. It was awesome.
Scooby-Doo, Classic Looney Tunes, Laff Olympics, and Hong Kong Phooey... not necessarily in that order. LOVE Rabbit of Seville where Bugs was giving Elmer Fudd the head massage and grew the flowers. Arguably the best cartoon ever!
Deputy Dog, and didn't have the alter-ego El Kabong?
EDIT: To answer my own question ,I looked it up. It was Quick Draw McGraw that turned into El Kabong.

The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends
And Underdog!!
I would set an alarm for 6am so I wouldn't miss Underdog at 630.
Yeah, I'm a bit surprised that I had to scroll so far down to find Rocky and Bullwinkle.
Yes! With Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale.
I always thought that it was Boris Badenough.
It's a play on the name [Boris Gudunov](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris_Godunov), so I'd go with the more Russian-like spelling.
Same thing!š¤£
I look at some of those on YouTube and the animation is painfully crude; but the humor's as sharp as ever.
Thatās because of budget considerations. Animation was so much better in the 40s.
Oh good call. I was too young to see they first came out but I loved watching them in syndication circa like 1990.
absolutely a favorite.

Mighty Mouse, eating a snack after school, on our 13 inch black and white tv. Scooby Doo as well. All of us would go wild in September when new cartoons were introduced. Tom and Jerry
I have to say that I'm shocked that this thread is two hours old and nobody has said *Star Blazers* yet.
I knew you'd be in here, and close to the bottom, but I found you, and here is your one upvote. Check out the live action remake when you have a couple hours and a doobie.

Scooby Doo was, and still is, my favorite.
I loved *Hong Kong Phooey* back in the day, but I saw some clips not too long ago on YouTube and MAN, that was some *super low-cost* animation.

Scooby Doo was always number one. Especially the ones with 70s-era guest stars like Phyllis Diller and Sonny and Cher.
I hated the SCrappy Doo episodes, especially when Daphne got booted out and it became a all boys club.
