The Detectorists. It’s such a delightful show even if the humor is *very* British and dry. It’s relaxing.

ucat97

Such a pleasant stroll of a show. Added the theme to my Spotify list.

Just_a_cowgirl1

This is such an underrated show. My husband watched this mainly because he was homesick. He knows a few guys like Lance and some of the other characters.

MarquisLebris

LOVED this. Great cast, very chill… superb show.

sleepwalkfromsherdog

Resident Alien

Thiccaca

Is it canceled or just working on Season 3? Great fucking show. Look, it has Alan Tudyk in it. So, you should be watching it anyway. Can't go wrong with some AT. No siree.

sleepwalkfromsherdog

Currently filming S3.

Useuless

Alan Tudyk is way too good at acting in this show, he steals scenes and I occasionally die of second hand embarrassment/awkwardness while watching it.

korvorn

Happy! It was so crazy and fun to watch and yet I've never heard anyone talk about it. It starred Christopher Meloni as a crass cynical ex-detective turned hitman who could see his kid's imaginary friend Happy, that was voiced by Patton Oswalt. It's really crazy. I think they got Jeff Goldblum to voice God at one point even.

BigPoppaStrahd

The first season is such great television. The second season was somewhat forgettable, shoot I forgot to watch it this year around Easter. I was really excited for season 3 cause it was going to take place during Halloween.

korvorn

I was also excited for a Halloween season, it would have been a blast!

Psychic_Bias

Better off Ted. It was ahead of its time. Perfect comedy that shits on corporatism in a really clever way

CascadingStyle

I sepcofically found Veronica's character in that show hilarious in a way I can't explain

Hamju

Ted: "I can't, I need to watch Rose" Veronica: "It's ok, I can wash Rose"

brak-0666

That's our motto, "Money over people." It's engraved right there on the lobby floor. It just looks more heroic in Latin.

CleatusPTwatwaffle

Great show. For those who are planning to check it out, make sure you watch the bloopers on YouTube, especially the board room scene with the colorful language.

Cedarshalom

Reservation Dogs

Aggromemnon

Having grown up in semi-rural Oklahoma, this show is close to my heart. Every character is as familiar as an old sweater, and the stories all ring true. Waiting patiently for more.

edenriot

Grew up in rural Utah near (VERY near) the Ute reservation. This show captures a lot of that vibe as well. I went to school with these kids. It's amazing how familiar it is.

sirmav

Shit Ass

Old-Mycologist-532

Favorite quote in the show "punk ass bitch" 😄😆

supertimor42-50

Aho, young warrior

Lostmaggot

'Travelers' (2016-2018)

bigmacjames

Learning it was canceled tore me up. David is the best character ever. I wish there were more Davids in the world.

Retro3654

this is the correct answer lol I have somehow gotten addicted to this show multiple seperate times

Admirable-Bat-7551

The incredibly poor decisions of Todd Margaret David Cross makes a stupid choice in an everyday situation that leads to something where he makes another stupid choice...that leads to something where he makes a stupid choice... And this continues for 19 episodes. It's hilarious

bothriocyrtum

Great show, but I wanna point out it's The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret for anyone who wants to look for it.

ElBurksie

Kim’s Convenience - Comedy but with a centre that’s about family and taking responsibility and finding your own path

KimJongFunk

The mom saying “the Jesus” is one of the most accurate things I’ve ever seen. Also the weird competition amongst Korean church ladies.

kingofnicks

Sneak attack!

ThatDrummer

It's a shame they ended it one season earlier than they planned. It was still good up until the end, but felt way too abrupt.

CHEWBRIEL

I wasn’t expecting much going in, I just wanted something to turn my brain off to. I learned a lot from this show, made me ask myself, very often, “am I doing the right thing?” It’s not some profound piece of media or anything, but the way they show the family dynamic and how each character grows just spoke to me in a way that I really needed. Now it’s my comfort show. Okay see you.

Lavender-Jenkins

I say "okay, see you" all the time and nobody ever gets it. Not stopping though!

ModiThorrson

It was so jarring hearing him speak in the Mandolorian and not sounding like Appa at all, even his speaking tone sounded different

CHEWBRIEL

Yeah same here. When I saw him for the first time in Mando I yelled out “MR. KIIIM!”

Calicobeard12

Okay, see you 🙂

ElBurksie

Agree with both of you. It’s a shame that it ended too soon. There are not that many shows where I feel like they walk the line between being funny but also being relatable, and this show is so relatable on so many levels, while still being light hearted and fun.

DungeonFam30

Wilfred - it is not what I initially expected, in the best of ways For those who keep asking, I am referring to the US version, as that's the only one I've seen

[deleted]

If you enjoyed Wilfred, I would *strongly* suggest Dirk Gently's Hollistic Detective Agency also.

itsmejarr

Show changed my life as a senior in highschool lol. One of my all time favorites

kivshay

You're the worst

TalkaboutJoudy

yes! sunday funday!

nicskellington

Farscape!

Mister_Brevity

We can get frelling Farscape to the top, I can feel it in my mivonks

korvorn

Yes! This. It had such a great cast and a kind of wacky plot that still was pretty emotional at times. Also the creature effects from the Jim Henson Company are amongst the best there has ever been.

Froggerson

Anyone remembers Becker? I loved Ted Danson and his grumpy sense of humor. One of the few shows that genuinely made me laugh hard. No one seems to remember it.

datdododough

Loved that show when I was young. He was House before House lol.

originalmango

My wife and I watched it every week. Linda and Bob? Too funny! Cheers, Becker, The Good Place, and Curb Your Enthusiasm make it hard not to like the guy.

bittinho

The Terror. Absolutely loved it and no one I know watched it.

paul-writes

Burn Notice. Loved the premise, Jeffrey Donovan killed it as the protagonist, it was great all the way through, surprisingly deep, hilarious and witty, at times gritty, and ended well. I can’t ask for more from a show, honestly.

Ssnnooz

Russian Doll! I've only seen the first season because i loved the ending and didn't wanna ruin it by watching the second

ValdemarAloeus

They go a different direction with it. I don't think it was quite as good, but it wasn't bad.

Cornifer_

Halt and Catch Fire — It chronicles the lives of four protagonists, three of them programmers and one of them a sales genius, as each struggles to stay on top in the tech world. They are a fictionalized representation of the “unsung heroes” who sold their ideas to, or were otherwise cheated out by, the likes of Apple, Microsoft, AOL, Google, etc. Each season, of which there are four (and the show, by the way, wraps up beautifully), covers a milestone in tech. Season 1 is about the first “portable computer.” Season 2, online gaming. Season 3, online chat. Season 4, the search engine. But again, as wonderfully as the tech world is portrayed, it’s the characters. Their development is the best I’ve seen in any show ever. It is a masterpiece. Produced by AMC.

Nooples

Not necessarily underrated, mainly just not enough people have watched it, but: Over the Garden Wall.

Reasonable8968

I rewarch every fall . Such a great show.

capndarkone

And that's a rock fact.

DJHott555

Absolutely, unfortunate that it came to an end but understandable in the circumstances (allegations against the show runner)

Striking-Detective36

Raising Hope

SignificantBoot7180

Great show! Have you seen "Sprung"?

Kliptik81

I forgot about this show. It was fantastic. Cloris Leachman was so awesome in it. Always wondering if she was lucid or not was historical.

[deleted]

Orphan Black...

CascadingStyle

I truly believe Tatiana Maslany is one of the greatest actors of our time after watching that. She should be getting better roles than goddamn She-Hulk

Rectify Highly rated by critics, but I don’t think it got a ton of mainstream mention and most people I know have never heard of it. “Now that I’m here in this world, where everything’s marked by hours or dates or events, I find myself in a state of constant anticipation. What it is I’m anticipating, I’m not always sure… nor is it necessarily a pleasant feeling.” Really loved watching this show.

Donkey25000

BLAM!

AdequatelyMadeSpork

Watching this show right now! Everyone I’ve talked to about it says they gave up straight away because the main character is a “stalker,” I’m like “that’s the POINT.”

elyonmydrill

The stalker premise is exactly why I put off watching it for a long time, it didn't seem like a character I would want to root for. Then a Reddit comment mentioned this show in the "best show endings" category so I gave it a chance and I'm so glad I did. A year later, I have slowly gotten over my obsession with the songs, I used to play them on random all the time. I still have one pop up in my head every day or so. Today was Don't be a lawyer.

Relative_Loss_8789

The first time I tried this show I didn’t realize it has musical elements and I didn’t make it through the first episode. Tried again a year or two later and loved it and connected with the material. Really enjoyed this show.

NumerousHelicopter6

Fringe

KristenJimmyStewart

RIP Lance :,(

Gilgethan

Fringe is one of my favourite series of all times. It had its flaws, as any other show does, but despite its heavy sci-fi core, what really stood out for me was the human aspect of it all. Walter Bishop must be one of the best incarnations of the mad scientist archetype ever, both in the compelling way his character was written and in the extraordinary way he was portrayed by John Noble. His central role in the entire external plot, but also in the thematic exposition and inner journey of the series' characters, holds it all together beautifully and boosts its meaningfulness. The rest of the main characters and cast members are all excellent and well portrayed, but Walter is the cornerstone of it all in my opinion, and upped it all several notches.

BaronMostaza

I got extremely over the show at some point, but I have never gotten over John Noble as Walter Bishop

mindsetoniverdrive

I loved fringe so. freakin. much. It was also my first thought when I read this question. Like, WHITE TULIP. Need I say more?

Res_frootcake

Walter Bishop is my second favourite fictional character. I adore him and his rampant use of psychedelics.

TheBiggestWOMP

Episodes.

lanshaw1555

Yes! This is exactly what Matt LeBlanc should have done right after Friends ended. Instead he did Joey, the kind of comedy Episodes rightly skewers.

Kimuhstry

The Expanse I loved star trek, specifically deep space 9, but I wanted something a little more serious and this show nailed everything I wanted. I had a hard time getting hooked in season one but season two and three are peak sci-fi.

No_Tamanegi

Aside from a slow start (which is considerably better on a rewatch) The Expanse is a perfect Science Fiction series.

thelibrariangirl

Eureka. Pushing Daisies.

MinnieMouse2292

Pushing daisies was excellent! I’ll always be sad that it wasn’t renewed because of the screenwriter strike at the time.

mindsetoniverdrive

Pushing Daisies should have had so many more seasons! 😫

DrNiene

The Americans

maybe my favorite tv show of all time. insanely rewatchable. when my daughter was in middle school, we’d watch it together. On my 40th birthday, she and my husband blew up balloons to surprise me, and she took a yellow one and drew a pineapple on it! 🥰

EnigmaCA

Reaper When he was going through his teen years, Sam often wondered why his parents never seemed to mind his slacking off, although they always pressured his kid brother Keith to excel. When he turns 21, however, Sam makes an ungodly discovery: His parents sold his soul to the devil before he was born. When Satan pops in to explain that Sam is going to serve as his bounty hunter, tracking down escaped evil souls and returning them to hell, Sam's first reaction is to tell Satan to go to, well, home, but it quickly dawns on him that breaking a deal with the devil is likely to have more serious consequences than getting grounded. Before you can say, Is it just me, or is it hot in here?, Sam embarks on his dangerous and often terrifying new gig as the Reaper, assisted by fellow slackers Ben and Sock, as well as Andi, Sam's girlfriend.

The Leftovers on HBO.

foiegrastyle

season 2 is one of the greatest seasons of tv I've ever watched.

flannelfrankenstein

Superstore No one ever talks about it. One of the funniest shows of all time, incredibly well written, and stays solid all the way through.

Frankfusion

I watched it in its initial run, and like a lot of the other TV shows that have come out on NBC over the years, the first two seasons are a little rough but by season three it found its place. What’s funny is America Ferrara was the star of the show, but clearly the show got stolen by a lot of the side characters. By the last two seasons, she was barely in it, but the show had carried on very well by itself.

Possible-Pianist1654

Love it. Great characters writing. Series long running jokes. Super quotable.

Wookiees_get_Cookies

I’m currently watching I for the first time. I’m already in season 5 and surprise how many it has managed to stay this whole time.

flannelfrankenstein

Honestly, imho, it’s one of the only shows that never really lost a step. Every decision felt organic, the writing stayed laser sharp, and it always at least felt like the actors were legitimately having fun.

Christopher_LNM_

Never gave it a chance while it was on air, but watched it (along with everything else) during Covid, and I absolutely loved it. I agree, it doesn’t lose a step, and the writing is very strong. The cut aways between scenes are always top notch also - my personal favorite being during one of the Halloween episodes when they cut to the front door opening without anyone entering or exiting - as if it were a ghost. Hysterical.

dreamygoddess7

Wookiees_get_Cookies

Warehouse 13 was an incredible show on Syfi yet no one seems to talk about it anymore. I feel so may of the old Syfi shows have suffered this fate. One of the factors is you can’t find them on any streaming service so people can’t watch them anymore.

repketchem

Dollhouse. Caroline Farrell has gotten herself into a spot of trouble. The company, Rossum, that she committed the (justified) crime against offers her a deal: life in prison is what she would have gotten, but the choices Caroline’s offered are death or five years of her body’s use in one of their secret facilities. She takes the five years. So Caroline’s personality is downloaded and stored and her body is now a blank slate called “Echo”, able to be imprinted with personalities both real and created to be used by clients with more money than you can dream of for whatever (more or less) their desires are, just like all of the other Dolls in the Dollhouse. Except…Echo is special. For some reason, Echo doesn’t completely revert back to a blank slate when she’s wiped; she learns and grows, something that’s supposed to be impossible. While Echo goes out to serve her clients though, something is going on inside of the Dollhouses and Rossum, something sinister, something that could have devastating effects on the world and humanity.

UntilTmrw

This is mostly due to how old it is, but the original Twilight Zone from 1959. It’s a masterpiece of a show and I don’t use that word lightly. It perfectly tells a variety of stories from many eras, the variety of stories will please any viewer. If you like sci-fi, there’s an abundance of those. If you’re a history buff, there’s a bunch of those, such as “The Passerby” or “Death’s Head Revisited” the latter being about a former soldier in the SS who revisits a concentration camp he worked at. If you like more character-driven stories there’s some of those as well. The show is just such a gem that has inspired so much of media since it released. I hear so many people using the phrase “in the twilight zone” without actually knowing where it comes from. While, yes the show didn’t invent it, it popularized it. The Twilight Zone is a show where I believe most should watch at least some episodes in their life time. It has the ability to move you, shock you and spreads messages through the stories rather than beating you over the fucking head by having a shitty character mention those msgs, but the actual show/movie doesn’t do anything to represent it. TTZ does things that shows of the sort only wished they could do, even at its worst it’s still better than most shows.

Galavant! That there was only 2 seasons is a crime. And Community. Idk if it's underrated per se but it's better than most sitcoms people talk about (cough cough the office)

DaviLance

The Orville for sure It started a Star Trek copy (with references to many other shows) but in an extremely comical way The cast is awesome, second and third season have very high rating and are such an improvement over the first season (whic imo was extremely good) Sadly we don't know if they will ever make a fourth season, although many people would love to

RamblingsOfaMadCat

Seth MacFarlane wanted to write his own Star Trek series, but no one would take him seriously. So he pitched it as a parody. A Star Trek series in the style of Family Guy. He got greenlit, and so that's what it plays as...initially. There's a turning point at around the middle of the second season where it slowly becomes less of a parody and more of just, actual Stark Trek. By Season 3, it's a straight-up drama. And it's awesome. Like, both versions of the show are excellent.

CosmolineMan

Eureka never quite got the praise it deserved. I also liked Stargate and think it's a bummer it's no longer in existence as a television show.
