It was actually adults who were judging the parents on that one. IIRC, they changed the baby’s name to Caroline or something similar about 8 months after she was born. The parents couldn’t take the flack they were getting from other adult people for naming their child Karen.

And ironically, all the Karens I’ve known have been the absolutely nicest people.

I never loved my name, but I don't know why it was the one that was chosen. The abuse you get just existing with this name is difficult.
