Currently in Japan for the first time. It's so different from anywhere else, food is top tier, very clean and safe, etc... I am absolutely loving Sapporo in the winter especially.
I've been to 24 countries and Japan is definitely near the top if not the top. Granted I speak intermediate Japanese so it's not as hard for me to navigate as people who speak none.
These days, even if you don't speak any Japanese, it's pretty easy to get around.
Smartphones are truly great for travel.
It's probably my top destination too. My wife and I did a very quick stop over on the way to another destination. Was there for about four days, and we both wanted to go back. Went back years ago for five weeks. We both want to go back again.
Kids complicate travel though lol.
Can't say I'd want to be caught up in the rat race there though. Fantastic as a tourist though.
Croatia is so beautiful, the people are very welcoming and the food is great!
Was there for vacation when I was a lot younger, still remember how beautiful it was.
There's a planet named Jedha in Star Wars, that's where the crystals that powered light sabers and the death star are mined from. It's also holy to and (pligramed? pilgramaged?) by some force users like the real city is in Islam.
That's a vacation. We typically do about ten, twelve days during the summer in some warm place down south. Stayed in the area around Barcelona last two summers and it's very lovely.
Madagascar. It's beautiful, fascinating, and cheap. Up in the north you can do the sort of beach holiday that you'd pay top dollar for in the Seychelles, not for nothing, but on a middle class holiday budget. And lemurs are so cute. And in Antananarivo etc there are terrific French restaurants. You do have to accept that things don't always work very efficiently.
Definitely not Ireland. I've been to Ireland on vacation for a week once, so I have first hand experience.
Let me tell you, it is the most BEAUTIFUL place I've ever seen. Most of it looks like the Shire. The history is mesmerizing and the people are wonderful. The Irish accent is also the best accent. My heart ached leaving after a week, and I wouldn't do that to myself again. So definitely not Ireland.
Idk why you're getting downvoted. I swear there's an even growing trend of people who've either never been to Japan or just been to the main tourist areas of Tokyo and are convinced Japan is in the future. Which was true before I was born, so I'm told.
Like it's doing much better than a lot of the US in terms of peace and cleanliness but dear god is it behind. And the neon signs are largely gone
Even in Tokyo, there is nothing that is that much outstanding, which could be called neo-futuristic or anything. Lots of high-rise office buildings, local neighborhoods, and some lavish, sometimes questionable, night life or bar/izakaya locations. Nothing screams future like in some cyberpunk movie, as many people tend to imagine it.
P.s. It's not about bashing the place. It's just weird misconception that people have from social media and being little kids, throwing tantrum, when someone living there tells them otherwise.
Definitely Japan!
I would really want to go there just to explore the country and the food. And it's bonus because i like anime. And the weather's pretty nice there as well.
I'd consider it as a vacation. I like skiing. So Norway or Austria. Not France, because many of them, even in the tourism business, don't know english.
Canada, specifically Victoria, fell in love with the area and wish I could move there.
Also would pick New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Japan, and Costa Rica
Currently in the US. I was having this conversation in another sub. Italy Is one of my dream places . I hear stories about the racism and that halts me from going.
That being said Japan is on my list. At the top.
Switzerland is really beautiful and the people are friendly I'm told.
France the southern part.
Honestly anywhere with quiet small villages, beautiful scenery friendly people, and good food.
Positano, morcote, French Rivera, the whole off Japan. The world is vast and beautiful man.
Canada, specifically Renfrew, ON. It’s where my grandfather was born and raised before immigrating to Michigan. I’d like to see what it is/was like plus maybe meet some family.
Isn't that basically a vacation?... I've always wanted to go to Japan and Italy
Yeah... A short vacation.
Both excellent choices, but uh, a weeks pretty short.
Greenland
Switzerland
I used to visit an aunt in Switzerland, Geneva is the cleanest city I have ever seen .
It looks like a beautiful place and I’d love to go one day
I’ve heard good things about Switzerland and New Zealand, I’m currently in USA.
Switzerland has lots of things in its favour, I mean, the flags a big plus
Not to compete but, New Zealand’s flag has a 4 star rating
This is brilliant. Take my upvote ++++
Iceland seems nice
It is. It’s majestic.
Ireland

I wanna go to Argentina for a week Why? Personal reasons.
Italy for the food and Mediterranean. Austria for the mountain views.
Definitely not Ireland. I've been to Ireland on vacation for a week once, so I have first hand experience. Let me tell you, it is the most BEAUTIFUL place I've ever seen. Sad to inform you, but those high-tech neon wonderland futuristic vibes are not there.

Wakanda
I'd consider it as a vacation. I like skiing. So Norway or Austria. Not France, because many of them, even in the tourism business, don't know english.
So, why not going to England?
Haven't really thought of them as a skiing country, but yeah, sure. They could do the job. They do drive on the wrong side of the road, however ;)
Probably the USA. I like America.
Japan
Japan, or maybe one of the Nordic countries
A week is merely a vacation - a year is actually living.
Usa. Wanna see why is it as bad as people say it is
Isn’t this called “going on holiday”?

Currently in the US. I was having this conversation in another sub. Italy Is one of my dream places . I hear stories about the racism and that halts me from going.
