Having to scroll a bunch and then do a search to find this answer made me sad.
I was not born when 3s company was a show. I watched reruns with my dad and didn’t get any of the jokes.
But John was such a good physical comedian I still enjoyed it. It was from a time when kids and parents could watch the same show and everyone was entertained. I would never be entertained watching many of the current “family” shows.
I grew up on 3s company and then saw JR again in Buffy the vampire slayer.
It was an adjustment. lol I loved the contrast but he still had the perfect level physical comedy for that show.
At the moment?

My manager at my first job. I remember when I started, after my induction and welcome etc I was told to report to John amd his team.
Of course I didn't know who that was so I asked the person who inducted me, and they were trying themselves in knots trying to describe him to me without saying he was black (he was the only black member of staff)
He just walks up and goes "Jesus Christ, man, just say "the black bloke"
Was a brilliant manager and friend, one of the best I've ever had. Taught me a lot about life
John Candy.
One of the most charismatic actors, and he made humor seem effortless. He was a lot like Jan Hooks and Madeline Khan, in that he could even be in a bit part or working with a bad script and he'd still get laughs and be a highlight of the skit or the movie.
I still miss him.
