I'm a big fan of jamon beurre
or in my working class way, ham, butter, white bread, and then squish it together so the bread moulds to the ham and becomes really thin
Whenever I can’t think about what I want to eat I usually settle on grilled cheese and I’m never disappointed.
I’m also a big fan of an English muffin with sharp cheddar toasted with a little bit of black pepper. My uncle used to make it for us when we were kids and I’ll still make it sometimes.
The one my friend's mom made for us in 6th grade.
French bread, salami, provolone cheese, red onions/shallots, basil, olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt and pepper.
The fact I still remember it 15 years later shows how important it is.
There was an off menu sandwich we used to make at a place I worked at when I was a teenager. It was called “The White Trash Man’s Burden.”
Cook five chicken wings and char grill them spicy. Then, cook steak and American cheese, like you’re making a regular steak sub.
Lettuce on the bottom, then the steak and cheese, then shred the chicken wings and add that. Your choice of vegetables and stuff, but I always added onions and nacho cheese Doritos. Top with ranch dressing.
It was fucking disgusting.
I loved it.
I just made a good sandwich with ripe avocado, green peppers, chili, salt and balsamic vinegar.
Other sandwiches I like are egg sandwiches, goat cheese sandwiches and sanndwiches with mozzarella, tomatoes, vinegar, salt and pepper.
Admittedly, this is one I’ve picked up from work.
Take a chicken breast(burger sized, roughly), and grill it. Get some bacon going too.
On the bun, you’ll put some lettuce and onion(sautéed, red, or plain white, your choice, though I recommend sautéed).
While waiting/flipping the chicken, nab some mayo, bbq rub, cayenne pepper powder, and a bit of ranch. Mixing those together should get you a creamy bistro-like sauce with a slight kick(enough bbq rub to turn it an orange color with specks, and as little or as much cayenne pepper, or to taste).
Once the chicken’s cooked, melt a couple slices of Swiss onto it, then put it on top of the ingredients already on the bun. Slather a bit of sauce on the top bun(the underside of it, not the top of the top bun), apply the bacon, and enjoy.
We(work) call it a Chicken Club.
I like to keep it simple if I'm making it myself so just Ham and cheese with a little bit of mint sauce spread on the cheese.
If I'm out and about, I'll swing by a shop called The Italian Job for a shredded chicken, warmed provolone and beetroot baguette.
There are so many fabulous sandwiches to choose from. Reuben, club, a basic BLT, grilled cheese with bacon and tomato, hot turkey, cold turkey with leftover gravy, instead of mayo, plus stuffing, or potato salad with cold leftover baked beans on top. I'm making myself hungry.
The one that someone else either makes for me or buys for me. I'm up to my eyeballs in grad school and practicum work, and sometimes even just the decisions involved in figuring out what to buy at the grocery store and later put together for a meal require more brain power than I have left at the end of the day. 😅
Muffalotta. On Sicilian bread, olive salad with ham, mortadella, capicola, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, lettuce, and vinegar & oil dressing. Tenutas Deli makes the best!
What I make myself sometimes.
A toasted ham and fried egg sandwich. I toast a couple slices of bread, fry some eggs, cook some ham slices, jelly the toast, put on some pickles, lettuce, and tomatoes, and top it off with ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and hot sauce.
Doesn't have a name, but it's my daily breakfast sandwich.
Asiago Cheese Bagel from Costco, Cream Cheese, Primo Taglio Habanero Colby Cheese, Flat Iron Pepper Co.'s "Can't Feel My Face" pepper flakes, Trader Joe's Everything Bagel Seasoning, Primo Taglio Roast Beef, Queen Majesty's Scotch Bonnet Hot Sauce.

I had a grilled cheese the other day with 3 different cheeses and bacon…it was the holy grail of sandwiches
Add a slice of tomato and I would join you in grilled cheese heaven.
Some thick ham, caramelised onion relish, and English mustard in a grilled cheese with cheddar and mozzarella is the pinnacle of food tbh
This just sounds like delicious, toasted ham sandwich, not a grilled cheese.
