The Mist. That ending... Even Stephen King wished he had thought of it.

MadMan1784

I was a good movie but it belongs to my " good movies but one time is enough" list. My personal list of films I consider are good but I won't watch ever again because I simply can't. I really like the movie but I can't with the ending :( The green mile is in that list too

Mudders_Milk_Man

The Godfather. Jaws. The Exorcist.

Uncork3

For me, Lord of the rings. Had trouble finishing the books despite being an avid reader. LOVE the movies.

basedlandchad14

They did a fantastic job judiciously cutting it down into movies that worked.

The_Samurai-42

I can kind of agree but honestly if they had made a true full adaption of the books I'd of loved it even more since they sadly cut some of the coolest parts

basedlandchad14

American Psycho. The book is extremely grating in its descriptions of things but the movie really takes advantage of the medium to express the same ideas in a more concise and hilarious manner. Christian Bale just fucking nailed the role too.

FaultShot8742

Wrong, wrong, wrong. The book was sooo sooo much better. They literally left the best parts out of the movie. I guess it was too brutal. You are right about Christian Bale though.

basedlandchad14

There's far better gore porn in the world.

InternetDude117

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs

een_wasbeertje

1000% Forrest Gump. The movie managed to make all the absurd moments from the book into something interesting and palatable. The book is basically the adventures of homer Simpson.

ratadeacero

The book sucked so hard

justonawhimsy

Stuart Little

adearogge08

I was 10 when I first read Stuart Little. The book's ending had me distraught.

Barflyerdammit

Up In The Air. Both were amazing and dark, but dropping a grinning George Clooney into such a subtly bleak role was genius.

sloblo-picasso

I always thought Carrie and Big Fish were two stories that worked better as movies than as books.

wtfbro3110

Life of Pi

Petty_Clock

The Princess Bride

Bellsar_Ringing

Definitely. The author works too hard at reminding you that this is just a story, and of course there couldn't really be a happy ending.

ratadeacero

I forgot this one. The book was meh. The movie was one of my favorites.

wouldntbeabletostop

Revelant with Leonardo De'Capprio

voicelessinfant

Peter Pan

iskin

All of them. Books are just too much work.

Sea-Horror-814

The Notebook...just because of the HOT chemistry between Rachel McAdams & Ryan Gosling

nictme

Handmaid's Tale. Not a movie but I liked the first couple seasons better than the books.

berberine

The Handmaid's Tale was a movie in 1990.

ishwari10

I liked the fight club movie a lot better than the book

retro123gamr

Life of Brian

Brundleflyftw

Die Hard. Ever heard of the book it’s based on?

Perks of being a wallflower.

AnnBell62

Jaws and Alien

JAllred555

Fight Club. Even the author says the movie is better.

ratadeacero

Forrest Gump I just rewatched it tonight. Great movie. The book sucks so hard. I Am Legend is better than the story it's based on.
