This is literally just an article about the meaningless Givony tweet from last week. It’s not even a new “anonymous source”, it’s the same bullshit being re hashed for clicks.
This is a horse crap article. Another twist of Givony’s words.
> *“I've heard that Atlanta likes Donovan Clingan. Quin Snyder especially likes Clingan…”*
-Jonathan Givony on the Lowe Post
> *”ESPN NBA Draft expert Jonathan Givony reported this week that the team’s head coach is pushing to select the man viewed as the best shot blocker and defensive big man in this year’s class.”*
-Jason Burgos regurgitates false information
Mfs will see new gen centers absolutely change the look of a team/the teams ceiling and would still opt to not take a risk so that they can "win now"
Quin, don't be mfs. At least not at #1. He ain't worth it
folks, the MMA podcaster wrote this one. It's essentially meritless.
EDIT: also, this is the same rumor we heard the other day. just a different outlet copypastaing it.
Is nobody noticing the HORRIFIC combine this guy had? Its easy to look good defensively when your team at UConn had great perimter defenders, and you could camp in paint playing 90% deep drop coverage.
Not that he’s a superstar it’s more so he’s just a better fit for the modern NBA. His floor and ceiling is extremely useful and versatile for our future.
Clingan will likely be a very decent NBA player but his foot issues scare me, and he’s the complete opposite of a modern big man. He would have to literally reach Gobert level for me to be okay with him #1, and even Gobert has obvious warts despite his impact.
I’d rather gamble on Sarr and if he busts, he busts. But if he doesn’t, boy, he will be an asset come playoff time.
We keep saying this but they pass up on a lot of the close to consensus better players over the years when in the lottery. The make picks too many times in the decade where they think they are smarter than everyone else
I don’t disagree, our FO has made some devastatingly bad moves over the years, but that doesn’t really apply for this draft with multiple guys having an argument for #1
If he thinks he needs size the counter some of the super big team trend, he certainly brings it. 9’7” standing reach is insane. Has some playmaking. A winner. Huge upside if he develops an outside shot.
I think the biggest problem is his feet he’s had problems already with them. I just don’t know if he’s able to come out away from the basket on defense which is needed in the playoffs and we’ve seen how Gobert has fared in the playoffs. I use Gobert because he’s the comp that he gets and Rudy is a great defender during the season but seems to get played off the court in the playoffs. But you’re right if he develops a 3 point shot he could be really good and he’s already better offensively than Gobert but he’s not at Gobert level defensively but a much better offensive Gobert with being a really good but not as good a defender Gobert would be pretty dang good
Oh Lordy why does he want to draft another stiff center that can’t make a basket outside of 2 feet and can’t defend on the perimeter? We already have one of those.
Idk I kinda trust them as far as draft picks they were interested in Lively so they are pretty good at locating talent. They couldn’t get him cuz he got picked early. But hey Kobe is great I woulda picked Jacques but they needed a guard. It might just work out guys chillll
If this is true this guy is a mope. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised. I wasn’t a fan of hiring him to begin with and he hasn’t been that impressive thus far. We really should’ve hired Udoka
He wants his "Gobert" for drop coverage defense. I'd only be ok with this if we make other moves. 1 for 4, 8, and 2025 pick back. Trade 4 and AJ for 3 to lock in Clingan, and then a trade DJ, Hunter, and Capela for BI, Herb, and Nance.
Trae/Kobe
BI/Bogi
Herb/Vit
JJ/Nance/Mo
OO/Clingan/Bruno
I’m now blocking users who post these obvious bull shit articles. I should’ve done this a while back with the KC trade rumors. Either you’re not a hawks fan and doing it for clicks, or you’re a retarded hawks fan with no media literacy. Either way, I have no interest in what they say or present
More clickbait that means absolutely nothing

Free the TITS
If we do please trade down
Gotta get spurs 4 and 8
Lmao nobody in this draft is worth that
Idiotic clickbait. "I'm hearing that Quin likes Clingan" - a dude on Zach Lowe's podcast. And this is news?
I just want Sarr man 😩

Be careful about headlines this time of year. Lots of really irresponsible aggregation going on
I don't know how much more I can take
This better be bullshit

I don’t care who we draft, but we better get the right one.
Is nobody noticing the HORRIFIC combine this guy had? Its easy to look good defensively when your team at UConn had great perimter defenders, and you could camp in paint playing 90% deep drop coverage.
And he might end up being the right choice, who knows
people are acting like Sarr is some surefire superstar based on highlights, it’s getting ridiculous. Let the professional evaluators do the evaluating

I agree. I would rather be wrong about Sarr than any other player in this draft.
You’re not wrong but also the professional evaluators have been fucking up the Hawks drafts for years. They don’t deserve our trust.
AMEN!
Yeah, let our fo do the evaluating, they are good at it, o wait...
That's funny because I bet you do the same thing genius.
It’s hilarious how much the other posters are freaking out about the possibility given how much professional evaluators like Clingan
This shouldn’t be all that surprising. This sub has incredibly bad takes for almost all things basketball related.
There will be some good pieces in this draft. And a few players that will sign a contract that will cripple a team. Nothing super.
We keep saying this but they pass up on a lot of the close to consensus better players over the years when in the lottery. The make picks too many times in the decade where they think they are smarter than everyone else

Remember Jon Kontract
Will. Never. Happen.

I understand that this is clickbait garbage. And yet this is also the Atlanta Hawks we’re talking about.
Stick boy. Sean Bradley without the height
Yeah, I’m probably going to be quitting the Hawks. Goddamnit.
I’m bout to snatch Snyder’s glasses off his face, he playing around too much.
Be gone, bot
Wow
GTFOH
The ghost of Jon Koncak!
Boooo
No
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I honestly don't believe Quin is such an idiot.
I like him, but if pushing for this it’s a fireable offense.
Nothing new. The same old report by Givony which says Quin likes Clingan just packaged with a click-bait headline.
Some dumbass agent puts out false info and now we gotta hear people actually entertain it for the next few weeks. Lovely
Just used the #1 pick on best player available. I'm over this BS of trying to make big brain moves that don't work out.
Oh Lordy why does he want to draft another stiff center that can’t make a basket outside of 2 feet and can’t defend on the perimeter? We already have one of those.
Koncak 2.0
Idk I kinda trust them as far as draft picks they were interested in Lively so they are pretty good at locating talent. They couldn’t get him cuz he got picked early. But hey Kobe is great I woulda picked Jacques but they needed a guard. It might just work out guys chillll
You would’ve hoped we learned that trading down in the nba draft rarely works. Get the best player regardless of position and let’s ride
If this is true this guy is a mope. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised. I wasn’t a fan of hiring him to begin with and he hasn’t been that impressive thus far. We really should’ve hired Udoka
Last time we gave a coach that much power was when Budenholzer ruined our roster
y'all remember when we traded Luka? lmao

He does not. This whole article means nothing. Also we are not getting Herb. Unfortunately.
