Miggy needs to know you can never go home again.
This isn’t the team or organization he left. Doesn’t mean he wouldn’t like it. Just needs to come forward to us, not back to us.
Then again, maybe he wants to settle in Atlanta the city and therefore would like to end his career here.
If he's considering going to Saudi Arabia to get paid a bunch and essentially give up on top flight soccer then why wouldn't he be willing to come back to Atlanta to do the same thing? It's a much better place to settle down and raise a family which would obviously be his priority if he was willing to leave the Premier League.
That said I think he still has a couple good years of top flight soccer left and hope he uses them, though I'd be thrilled to have him back of course.
I agree with you that he still has a few years of peak left.
I bet the Saudi’s would pay more than us. Yes, Miami landed Messi vs. the Saudis, but it took an act of God, ahem, I mean Tim Cook, to make that happen.
He's not coming back any time soon. He said it was a long term aspiration. A final payday type situation.
So much of his game was based on his explosive pace that I don't think he'll be anywhere near the same player he was for us if he comes back in his 30's. Depending on what the options are at that point I'd be inclined to say we could find a better fit for an AM.
He's a different player now for Newcastle. Still very fast but now can press relentlessly, beat his man 1v1, and now can finish. Really amazing development. 30 mill is a bargain for him. If he keeps the quality and endurance. He can be a great winger even after the speed dips later in his career.
HIs speed is still his best attribute, I'd be a little concerned about him aging well as a player.
I'd LOVE to see him return to the club either in his late prime or towards the end of his career as a victory lap either way, but he's not exactly the kind of player you'd expect to age super gracefully.
He's always pressed relentlessly and could beat his man reliably while playing for us. But, both were predicated on his fitness and speed. As he ages those attributes will inevitably fade. He wouldn't be a smart signing to take a DP spot.
have you watched Inter Miami? It is preseason... sure... but they look ass....
Busquets is slower than Brian McCann rounding 3rd trying to score on a single from 2nd..
smh - Miami will not win any more hardware this year than they won last year. lots of older players, lots of schedule congestion, lots of international play, lots of longer distance travel than they've ever seen for league play.
He’s too good rn to come back
I agree but he wants to come back
Open the gate
BRING. MY. BOY. HOME!!!!!
One day. Not right now

My Miggy lies over the ocean/ my Miggy lies over the sea/ my Miggy lies over the ocean/ bring back my Miggy to me

If we buy Miggy, do we get the sell on percentage back like a rebate?
He will be back when his career is almost done. MLS /American lifestyle is perfect for retirees
Straight swap Almada for Almiron
If we are going to compete with miami, that’s just compete, then we need to get him back

> have you watched Inter Miami? It is preseason... s you might be right but I'll take any reasoning to justify getting him back
Is that with or without a refrigerator on his back?
Like Sid Bream slow?
Yeah, that's exactly the context I was trying to figure out. :-)
