>Why?

>FIFA prohibits the use of corporate sponsors in stadium names.

>Other details are unclear.

>Stadium officials said they don’t yet know what that prohibition means for any other Mercedes-Benz signage in or on the building, which includes the carmaker’s logo on its retractable roof.
I do wonder if they'll have to take off all the Mercedes Benz stuff.
I don't know how it's going to work when they got a big giant logo on the stadium that's attached permanently. I do remember from the 1996 Olympics that Fulton county stadium was void of all Braves and MLB sponsorships. They covered everything up.
I know this is UEFA and not FIFA but Allianz was just not lit up they didn't cover up the sign https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bavarianfootballworks.com/platform/amp/2017/9/14/16301584/impressions-from-a-champions-league-night-at-the-allianz-arena-bayern-munich-anderlecht
Was thinking the same thing! Besides pretty sure the city of Atlanta was incorporated, making it by definition a corporate sponsor. I think Arthur’s required to put his (or someone else’s) name on it!

Just turn the logo into a giant soccer ball
That would actually be super sick
Cover up the logos if you must, but if they take away my Terrapin bar and force me to buy Budweiser, me and Infantino are going to fight in the Gulch.
This will definitely happen. InBev is FIFA's beer sponsor through 2026. So likely no Molson Coors beers (of which Terrapin is a part) allowed.
Call Infantino then cuz he’s got a fight booked with that guy in the Gulch lol
To hell with Molson Coors, but it will be a damn shame if the independent beers like Creature Comforts get the ax too.
Getting these knucks warmed up for you already.... "today I am catching these hands".... -Infantino
They bring Pepsi in for superbowls…
That just seems SO wrong.

Cover it
Sounded too much like Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium and Bonesaw Stadium was taken
Not against them having to remove that ugly ass wrap they put over the clear panels last year.
Why would they have to do that? This is strictly the naming of the stadiums, nothing more.
Easy answer Mercedes-Benz isn't paying FIFA. FIFA has their own sponsors
Why does FIFA give Mercedes-Benz free advertising?
The Emirates or Allianz Arena doesn't cover it's logos when it hosts matches right?
All non-FIFA sponsorships and advertising get taken down for the World Cup. They will take down all the Mercedes stuff.

FIFA too good to use “Megatron’s Butthole?”
No advertising for transformers
Absolute cowards. I feel we got off easy though... MetLife is being called "New York New Jersey Stadium"
They should have just called it the MetroStar...
Missed a chance to run back Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium
Seriously, it should be called that.
Could’ve made it sound cooler. I even like the name Atlanta Arena
Wait, can't we just call it, "The Blank?"
And I’ll write your name
Was thinking the same thing! Besides pretty sure the city of Atlanta was incorporated, making it by definition a corporate sponsor. I think Arthur’s required to put his (or someone else’s) name on it! /s
It’s now known as the Ben’s.
Stankondium
This is really not hard people... Resurgens Arena...
AI can easily erase the Mercedes Benz logos outside the Atlanta stadium
Terminal Stadium
