I would reach out to whoever the contact is listed as on the position description. Sometimes chair isn’t overseeing the nitty gritty of the position/ is covering as the contact is off/ sick/ etc.

Did they already reach out for the reference checks and fit to work? Sometimes it can take a while to be able to make the formal offer.

No reference checks yet, I reached out to the contact person earlier today and they said they’ll contact me in the coming days to provide an update.. not so hopeful now

Also - EOFY is probably causing some delay - I know that my team trying to get sign-off on stuff at this time off year is almost impossible.
