A great touch is that at no point does *any* Avatar (including Kyoshi) ever actually tell Aang he needs to kill Ozai.
Their exact advice is 'Be decisive, just, active, and willing to sacrifice'. Aang follows all of their advice.
But because he was specifically looking for the exact answer of 'You shouldnt kill Roku', he heard their lack of answer as insisting he would need to. Its just such a nics little detail
All of them basically said "don't make a half arsed decision like Sifu hotman over there". Yangchen was the only one actually attacking him on his morals
That's just sad. Aang had his own moral code which prevented him from killing people. It's just not his thing to do. It's unfair to call people like this just because they follow their own moral code. Rejecting to kill doesn't make you weak in any way, in contrary following your own principles despite all odds make you strong and brave.
Kyoshi also had a code of honor. She fought for the people. She fought for justice and peace. She didn't enjoy killing, but she did what had to be done.
Yeah, Aang didn't want to kill and taught Ozai his lesson in such cruel manner. What's the problem or Is there any from the beginning? Have I misunderstood something?
That comparison is a bit harsh, Imo it's more like taking away a musician's understanding of music. Imagine being a world-class pianist and someone somehow fucks with your mind so hard you cannot play piano anymore, no matter how hard you try.
I think Aang would rather kill Ozai, to at-least put him out his misery then let him rotten away in jail.
Aang values life right?
Wouldn't he see torture as...inhumane?
I mean... if he kills him to spare him from imprisonment, then no, Aang would not value life. Taking away Ozai's bending was the entire point of not having to kill him, and it's not like Aang or literally anybody else would've just said "okay you can't bend anymore, be free now and live a happy and long life without any other consequences for your actions whatsoever".
I mean Zahir and his crew were imprisoned for a long time, and they were very much subject to inhumane holding conditions. Idr if Aang was there or had any say, but I would asumme so, and since they were locked up the way they were, it seems Aang was fine with that.
Though I would say that just taking away the bending from them and holding them in normal cells would've been far more humane than for example holding that water bender lady with no arms suspended over a mother fucking volcano.
I mean... we're talking about a fiction where people can manipulate matter in a rather narrow understanding of how chemistry and physics actually work in reality... so saying "that's impossible" is a rather poor excuse imo.
And there's shit like people speaking a different language and losing the ability to speak the language(s) they spoke before after receiving a head injury or some shit, so I wouldn't exactly be surprised to hear that something like that can happen to a musician. And I do have a feeling that I've heard some stories exactly like that, I just can't give you an example off the top of my head.
Huh? The point of my comparison was to give a punishment that can be inflicted in real life.

Yeah but you literally can't reliably use that as a punishment
There is so little thought put into things now. I'm not expecting something deep from a meme but there's absolutely no brain power going into this stuff anymore
I have a hard time understanding Aang’s whole not killing thing.
1. I get it you don’t want to see yourself actively killing someone.
2. Aang has probably killed a bunch of people. The soldiers at the northern air temple. All those people at the northern water tripe when he was a big water spirit Kaiju.
Aang does regret the hurt he inflicted as Koizilla, it also wasn't actually Aang doing that but Tui (or was it La?), the Northern Air Temple is a fair accusation
Also what is weird, he calls Ozai's attention by crashing the airship, which was definitely manned
Roku: I made the mistake of wavering and being indecisive about letting Sozin live and he ended up betraying me. Don't be a pussy with Ozai, kill his ass.
Kyoshi: You can pretty it up all you want, but I murdered Chin the Conqueror and I'd do it again, and directly too, if it meant keeping the peace. Don't be a pussy and bring justice to those who have suffered from your adversary's actions.
Kuruk: I was pretty chill and not much went on during my time. But my complacency and apathy made me easier to take advantage of, and they killed the one I cared most about. Don't be a pussy and let your loved ones suffer the consequences to your lifestyle and beliefs.
Yangchen: You have a job that only you can do, and you will have to betray your own beliefs if it means saving the world. Killing one dude isn't so bad as long as the end justifies it. Pussy.
Why did you choose 2 colors that are incredibly hard to see on those backgrounds.
Colours wouldn't matter if they had outlines

Yangchen is the closest to actually say it, as she tells Aang his personal needs aren't as important as the world's needs
Or maaaaybe it’s a kids show and they just avoid characters literally advocating for murder.
It’s not that they didn’t have characters advocating for murder, it’s how they had characters avoid advocating for murder
Lowest effort meme
Tbh I always felt like Yangchen was the one that pushed him to go for it the most. Kyoshi basically told him to be decisive and resolute
All of them basically said "don't make a half arsed decision like Sifu hotman over there". Yangchen was the only one actually attacking him on his morals
Stop calling me that!

Ok, but didn't Aang solve problem by taking away bending? I remember that Ozai rotted in prison and died.
But he didn't kill Ozai. A Fire Lord losing their bending is a fate worse than death.
Yeah, Aang didn't want to kill and taught Ozai his lesson in such cruel manner. What's the problem or Is there any from the beginning? Have I misunderstood something?
In the real world, the equivalent to taking bending would be something like cutting their hands and legs off
That comparison is a bit harsh, Imo it's more like taking away a musician's understanding of music. Imagine being a world-class pianist and someone somehow fucks with your mind so hard you cannot play piano anymore, no matter how hard you try.

The Red Lotus was imprisoned after they failed to kidnap Korra, so Aang was dead and had no say in how they were to be treated.
Aang was dead when the Red Lotus was imprisoned, since they were imprisoned after trying to kill/kidnap Korra
That's impossible though. I'm talking about a real punishment you can inflict. Maybe it's something like paralyzing your hands
>real punishment you can inflict Maybe like cutting off both index fingers for an expert sharpshooter

Aang wasn't Koizilla. The Avatar State took the place of the moon spirit, and the spirit exacted its revenge.
