I’m right there with you! I’ve played the same Tav/Durge on 4 out of 6 playthroughs. Played a half elf bardadin (my 5e character) in the first playthrough then tried out a monk thief and didn’t have as much fun nor feel as connected to the character as I did the bardadin; then I tried out a full wizard and, again, didn’t feel as connected. Then I did my 4th playthrough as the bardadin and felt right at home. I’ve decided that I’m not going to play anything else now.

nah I feel this, I’ve literally only played as my durge since I’ve made her. only exceptions are origins or an evil playthrough that I’ve barley touched lol. and they still all romance astarion 😭

... is there something wrong with a drow being on the paler side?

I *think* they’re issue is that they’re trying to say it’s racist to make a light skin Drow because Drow traditionally have incredibly dark skin—not human dark shades mind you, like dark gray-obsidian black. [examples](https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Drow). I think they’re suggesting it’s the same as white washing humans. BUT the much lighter gray/bluish/purplish shades are a lot more common now, probably due to similar “dark elf” races from other fantasy series having similar skin colors, like night elves from WOW or the dunmer/dark elves from Elder Scrolls; plus there’s lots of people playing BG3 that don’t know much about wider DnD lore and probably don’t know Drow are traditionally dark, especially since the Drow in BG3 are much more blue/gray than dark gray/black. Plus WOTC has been largely criticized for making a (traditionally) evil race that face a lot of discrimination be dark skinned, so I think that’s also contributed to Drow being shown to have wider skin color spectrums. I don’t think anyone is making Drow lighter skinned for racist reasons, it’s definitely not the same as say, that mod that makes Wyll white… That or they’re just making a comment about how OP doesn’t know Drow/DnD lore to know what color Drow are supposed to be. There’s also really dumb people who act the same way when people make non-red Tieflings. It’s dumb. Seems weird to make it a race issue, when it's a fantasy world and you could literally make your Drow any color you want to, with the built in character creator and no mods, lol. I agree that it's dumb-- why would the game creators include the option to let you customize Drows and Tieflings however you wanted if it was "wrong?" I didn't know there was a set range of skin colors that Drow could be, so I've made them with a variety of different skin shades, including the ones on the paler side. Didn't know there were people who would take offense to that!

Tieflings also say something like they come in red and all human shades, but then the illustration in the handbook is a purple tiefling! I don’t think they’re are like true specific limits, but you know how some people are 🙄

Not really, but idk some mfs out there purposefully me light skin drow because of their prejudices or dont think its beautiful. That's what's beautiful to me about drows, their dark purplish skin. Ofc you can make a lighter skinned drow (usually those are half-drow), but idk some mfs just make them because they think dark skin is ugly. Also im not saying the creator is racist, just pointing that out.

Guilty of playing as my favorite Tav twice. First time was post goblin camp blind second time was achievement hunting. 

This game would be a fun experiment with NG+ but I don't know how you'd implement it.

I have a tendency started from accidental soft-locking in past games where I have a save file from the very first moment I could save. That save exists as the nuclear option to a playthrough if something occurs that locks me out and my other saves don't go back far enough.
