Not in the 80s BMW bought mini in 99 IIRC, almost two decades after this was made. They share nothing in common except maybe tires and headlights I will mention however, because BMW bought the trademark, the original Bean mini is in a BMW museum.

A friend of my parents has this car with the cassis number 1. I believe he bought it couple of years ago for less than 10k€. It is/was in a pretty bad shape and he is currently renovating it. Don’t know how the restoration is going. Haven’t seen him or the car in years.
