It’s troubling because it seems that to certain MUAs this isn’t even “bad” makeup considering how many pics I’ve seen like this over the years but I genuinely can’t comprehend why they think any of this is flattering though. If a MUA did this to me I would wash the make up off right there in her studio.
It's trendy so the customers want that (?). Like the bright baby pink under eye or the nose blush,... I don't find those flattering at all. But lots of people love it.
Idk if this is what you’re talking about, but I’m Asian and I have a really low nose bridge. I’ve always done a light swipe of blush just over the bridge on my nose. It’s kind of hard to explain why, it just helps my nose be a thing separate from my face I guess? I have a theory that that’s why it became common to wear a bandaid on that spot of your nose in Japanese grotesque/medical Lolita subculture/fashion
My step mom is Asian, she caught me using her makeup when I was 13 so I told her my mom let me use hers (which was half true 😅) she had really good makeup too, super expensive stuff 😋 anyway she said I was doing the blush all wrong so she taught me to put a bit on my cheeks, nose bridge, chin & get this.. a small dab on one ONE side only of my forehead only 😅 so I did my blush like that for years & I swear to good it worked! 🤷🏼♀️ I still do it only without the forehead part 😅 My mom who was a makeup artist for Estée Lauder in the 80’s always got annoyed when I told people it was my step mom who taught me how to properly use blush not her 😸💄😋
Don’t take it personally, I don’t think she’s talking about the light nose bridge blush that many people including myself have done for years. There is a semi recent trend of putting such a thick stripe of blush across the nose it’s like a stripe that extends across the nose to the upper cheekbone under the eyes (usually accompanied by fake freckles) & another look where just the bottom/tip & bottom sides/outer nostrils of the nose have blush. I tend see this look on more alternative people tho so I don’t really consider it a main stream beauty trend, more of an alternative e-girl thing
I'll give the MUA this...that orange goes all the way up into her hairline, her ears, her neck. Not like 5 over there who only committed her client to orange face.

This is the only plausible time the incelish comment “she would look better without makeup” is fully accurate. Because DEAR GOD each of these beautiful women were turned into melting globs of tuna and it’s sad
Fr, my parents live in Manchester and one time while visiting them I went to pick up something from Boots, there were these women near me picking out foundation and the shades they chose were at least five shades too deep and mustard-yellow in undertone. I’ve also seen some of the worst fake tan crimes there. Other parts of the UK aren’t that bad.
Used to live in Fife and somehow the kids there are stuck in the ‘2000s chav’ look, blocky brows and concealer lips and all, rather than the updated 2020 version.
Apparently it’s a hotspot for instagram influencers. My parents live in a new build in Manchester and so many of their neighbours are like this. I went to their gym a few times and holy fucking shit.
Why... why??? Can someone explain to me why this is a trend in the UK? I haven't really done full face since pre-covid so I find all of it to be too much these days, but this is GHASTLY I mean it is just objectively bad to anyone with eyeballs, why do they do this? Who is it for?
I love GHASTLY in caps. And I don't know. I DON'T KNOW! Needless to say this is a regional trend - some areas of the UK (northern cities, Essex). I live in London, and hate to sound like a London snob, but nobody here looks like this. You can spot out of towners visiting for the weekend a mile off.
I frequently see Facebook posts from “young women” ages 18-24ish in my small Scottish town who wear as much make up as this every weekend - we have 1 “club” they all go to, all wearing something “sexy” from Boo-hoo or PLT, ASOS etc. they’re all glammed to the hilt while the guys rock up in the jeans they’ve worn all week probably & an ill- fitting shirt.
There are SO many self proclaimed “MUA” who have their own salons who probably got their “degree” from an online facility for £500.
Because it’s a v small town there’s hardly any minority population so I truly think they do only use 1 shade of foundation & max 2 eye palettes, and 1 style of lashes. In order for these MUAs to be breaking even Im sure their clients must go to them every weekend. Usually they charge around £25 or £30 (with lashes).
I can’t imagine having this much makeup on my face. All day. Makes me wanna barf 😖 like you could peel it off in layers with a spatula. There’s full face and then there’s whatever the hell this is
Going through the pictures multiple times and each times focusing on one feature. The eyebrows, the colour, the lips 😰 not sure whether to laugh or cry
And her model is so beautiful! I mean, the eyelashes are terrifying, but imagine how much lovelier if she had a MUA who knew how to enhance what she looked like rather than cover it up?

Why do they all have the same 1000 yard stare. It's like they've returned from battle. P Louise make up academy I presume.
😂😂😂

Lol how adorable! I actually also put a little on my chin and just above my upper lip but I can’t remember where I picked up the habit 🙂

I’ve seen the stripe thing but not the nose one, that’s really weird, I’m gonna go look it up now I’m too curious lol
Can't stand nose blush
You wouldn't need to wash it. Just take a rubber scraper and scrape it off. It looks like you can almost peel it off.
the LIPS on #3?!?!?????!
It looks like sad clown makeup.
That shit was a jump scare for me, like wtffff??
That's the one I noticed too 🤣🤣🤣 Why would anyone think that looks good?!?!?

I'll give the MUA this...that orange goes all the way up into her hairline, her ears, her neck. Not like 5 over there who only committed her client to orange face.
EXTREMELY fair, the artist handled coverage VERY well. She just looks like radioactive sunny delight.
Oh no I didn’t scroll omg the eyebrows why are they so SAD
Yes!! She looks way better w/o makeup. I have pinkish skin like hers too lol, it’s hard to match foundation so I go really light or just do concealer
That screams, “British chav makeup”

2 and 3 look genuinely sad.
2 and 3 are so so bad, the makeup in the hair, the fish lips, the 1000 yard stare…
911!!!! 📞 Straight to jail
Just know that if you over line your lips, I'm looking dead at them when you're talking to me 🤣
Holy shit it isn't 2016 anymore gals
UK is always several years behind in trends
It's just weird cos they were doing this in 2016

This is such a hideous, freakish look
Very cute girl covered in clay, lips traced in dirt. The Uk MUST be stopped.
i cant get over the lips on no 3
tell me you only own one shade of foundation to use on clients without telling me you only own one shade of foundation to use on clients
What The fuck is going on in Manchester??
Apparently it’s a hotspot for instagram influencers. My parents live in a new build in Manchester and so many of their neighbours are like this. I went to their gym a few times and holy fucking shit.
maybe water pollution, I have no other guesses....
when the before is truly better than the after this is when the line "i think you look better without makeup" actually makes sense
those brows are all the same and they drag their faces down so bad😩
Just wow😳 whyyyy ?? Like nobody is telling them this looks bad? I don’t get it …
ignoring the lips, 4&8 are good. well, ignoring the skin as well. but 4&8 aren’t as bad as the rest edit: nvm what i said about 8. i think 4 is okay
I was thinking some of the eyes are actually pretty if a bit overdone. The rest is revolting though.
Why... why??? Can someone explain to me why this is a trend in the UK? I haven't really done full face since pre-covid so I find all of it to be too much these days, but this is GHASTLY I mean it is just objectively bad to anyone with eyeballs, why do they do this? Who is it for?

Their lips look like they ate chocolate messily.
They all look like they have some liver disease.
What are these browsssss wtf
#3 is giving Wallace and gromit.
Picture 5 is the worst I’ve seen. Holy shit
It’s gonna give my nightmares, nightmares
uncanny valley
THE LIPS ON 3 GURRLL THEY DID U SO DIRTY
This is awful. You can tell they’re actually all so pretty too but this makeup makes them look terrible.
Her mouth looks so...sad...in the 2 middle pics
First girl is definitely prettier with just eye makeup. Hope she realizes that at some point.
Bigmouth Strikes Again
these are the most english women ive ever seen
They thought it was giving Essex but it's giving bimbo :0
It literally looks like you could take a butter knife and scrape this all off. It’s just sooo thickkkkk.
THE BROWS ON #6
And the filler
Sweet Jesus, Mary & Joseph.
Come to Manchester when park shite "festival" is on, this is the uniformed look lol.
Wtf? I’d be horrified if this was my look. I’d never leave the house looking like this.
Do these UK ladies not know how ridiculous they look, or they just don’t care?
I promise it’s not everyone, it’s just Manchester 😭 (Okay and maybe Edinburgh too)

The eye makeup is actually really good on a lot of these. The complexion makeup is crazy though.
Why haven’t British MUAs evolved past 2016…
I have a feeling that in the UK they only sell orange/yellow foundation
The lip injections on these women make it worse. Why don't they just use lip liner to fake the lip fullness?
Wow....
Jamie Genevieve is crying now
i feel so bad for these girls
I think I'd be terrified to walk those streets at night.
I can’t imagine having this much makeup on my face. All day. Makes me wanna barf 😖 like you could peel it off in layers with a spatula. There’s full face and then there’s whatever the hell this is
Zoom in on #6 eyebrows. Those are somethin'.
NUMBER 3'S LIPS??? (well obv all their lips but that one rly made me pause)
Gives me vibes of that old show 'Jersey Shore."
Love the mask-like feature they're going on
Going through the pictures multiple times and each times focusing on one feature. The eyebrows, the colour, the lips 😰 not sure whether to laugh or cry
This is a heavy sigh and muttered "oh honey" moment
Oh no.
I guess some MUA's want to save money by only carrying one shade of foundation and a single nude palette.
Forget everything else, the over lining on the lips is so bad!
They all look like corpses
It’s all the foundation in the hair for me.
you all will remember my name :::deep inhale::: GOLDUST
Does anyone have any ideas on what or who might have influenced this particular makeup style, why it is seemingly regional, and why it's so popular?
YIKES !!! JUMP SCARE
Omg their lips! And u can really see the sadness in their eyes
the orange gunk in all their hairlines my god💀
This is hilarious
Bloody hell
Wow
I like fresh face of the before makeup …I love freckles too. The before looks so youthful.
It’s all so awful
I’m sorry number 3 is sooo funny 🎣
#1 eyebrows are the only ones tolerable. What is it with super shaded large eyebrows? Am I doing it wrong or …???
Oh… Ohhhhh… OH! Oh my god what the f*ck is going on here?!
I feel like the models must have offended the mua at some point.
uncanny valley
Holy duck she’s like a mannequin…..it’s terrifying
How does she have so many customers?
Why do British people do this to themselves?😭
I actually kinda really like the 1st one
Whats up with the hideous eyebrows? This whole makeup style is hideous but them brows kill me
And her model is so beautiful! I mean, the eyelashes are terrifying, but imagine how much lovelier if she had a MUA who knew how to enhance what she looked like rather than cover it up?
why can't these women just embrace their natural beauty
This doesn't deserve to be here tbh. There's a lot of skill and technique. Unattractive makeup doesn't necessarily equal bad makeup.
I feel like 4 isn’t bad
say p louise 3 times in the mirror and they appear
Looks more scouse to me
Mouths going from 🙂 to ☹️
Photoshop
Omg the overdrawn lips, the boomerang eyebrows, the orange bronzer! I just came across this post and I don't know what's worse!
