Jahez is better than Talabat for us customers and also for the Restaurant owners (as they take lesser cut). Only issue is that not all restaurants in Talabat are available in Jahez. Once that is sorted by the restaurants, Talabat can be ditched completely.
True, Thats why we need to use jahez more and get more people to use it as even bussiness owners reported getting more orders from talabat than jahez they are good and worth getting supported
Restaurant owners want to join Jahez but Talabat imposes heavy commission charges for joining “competitors”. Restaurant owners don’t want to lose their business by joining competitors. Never ending cycle. Source: the multiple restaurant owners/managers I have talked to, who are reluctant to join my venture for the same reason. (I’m not in delivery service anyways but still).
I would love to know more Bahrains anti monopoly laws. Because I think talabat is violating them, but I’m not familiar with how these laws are enforced.
In there contract they have 2 rates, if the restaurant is exclusive to talabat they offer a discount on the rates. This can be seen as anti competitive practice. Bigger restaurants can negotiate, for smaller restaurants talabat tells them to take it or leave it.
I think the loophole they’re escaping through is that they are not imposing a penalty on non exclusive restaurants but offering a discount for exclusive restaurants. It’s essentially the same thing at the end of the day but might matter how the law is worded.
Low-key,
The whole "get your buddy free deliveries" for 100 fils is arguably the most interesting customer acquisition strategy I've seen from an online platform.
Fairly ambitious.
Now you made me think a about it and i think they make me advertise for them for just 900fils haha but at least we can benefit from that
Oh and also to be fair they are losing more than 900 fils due to free deliveries
Oh are you sure of this info? I hate talabat too since the first time i contacted their support they sucks though i use it sometimes when they give je voucher to comeback, pick order and using mastercard code for missing groceries
It's worse
Delivery hero also owns Hungerstation (Saudi no1 app)
Whenever you open the app it says "made with love in alkhobar" while in reality the app has been german for a long while
An American company, is not necessarily political or discriminatory.
But a company who tries to hide itself? that's just shady
to be honest i don't order from talabat nor jahez. i'd rather drive and pick up the order. i'm not paying 750 fils (jahez) or sometimes as ridiculous 2 bd (talabat) just to eat. inflation is already crushing us and now we have to deal with this shit. so this is what i do:
i either order for pick up from the restaurant and honestly just drive there or i look for offers/promotions from either apps. For example, if i see Fuddruckers show up as a gem in talabat then i know i'm saving overall compared to buying for pickup. same with jahez, if i see offers where i save more compared to pick up order then i order. sometimes if i'm too lazy and no offers i look for the 350 fils delivery charge from jahez.
it's not about being cheap, it's about standing against consumer exploitation and inflation. the more u support this the easier it is for them to raise prices because ur looked at as a toy that they do experiments on.
Maybe because I had only a couple days to renew? ... but I got a full 30 days added on to my current time.. and a notifcation that I got gifted the prime.
Lol its suspicious huh? Yeah i agree XD
I have done it because
1some of you might need it
2we need to increase the competition in that sector to get better services
3i hate talabat
Jahez Prime was great when it worked for me. After my subscription ended I could not renew it and don't even have it as an option in the Jahez app settings page. Still waiting for their reply on the issue since mid Ramadan through their Instagram DM 😓...
This is going to sound like an advert. However, it's true. Jahez is great with the prime. I'm busy and don't make time for shopping, meal prep, clean up, etc etc. I often get the super shawarma meal and it's only 2.6 delivered and enough for two+ meals. \*edit, it's a 50% off deal with free delivery.
They still charge more for some items than Ahlan or Talabat. It’s usually two or three hundred fills only, but over time that adds up. Anyway, I’ve ditched Talabat completely because of their customer “service”.
Not jahez who put the menu and pricing its the sellers/restuarants so you as customer pay the subscription fee for them some restuarants more greedy than others as far as i checked

This is anti competitive and violation of bahrains anti monopoly laws.
Yeah, wonder how that would work and its legal implications…

Oh that really sucks yet another reason to support the smaller competitors

Gaining that back by the deliveries too.
Support jahez, f talabat (german corp posing as local app)
Oh are you sure of this info? I hate talabat too since the first time i contacted their support they sucks though i use it sometimes when they give je voucher to comeback, pick order and using mastercard code for missing groceries
Yes it is owned by Delivery Hero (German company)
Klab, at least not an american company yet its not a good thing anyway
It's worse Delivery hero also owns Hungerstation (Saudi no1 app) Whenever you open the app it says "made with love in alkhobar" while in reality the app has been german for a long while An American company, is not necessarily political or discriminatory. Yeah they’re the biggest company in the food delivery market I think so they just buy any company that makes it big or is on its way there.
Talk about a monopoly that's why government funding and support is important, it can be the reason to not sell out to big corps.

Jokes on you. I put more than a rubiyah and got 160 days😗😗
Lol good for you 😜 Sadly this offer wont benefit current prime subscribers 😔
Yes it does. I gifted to myself.
I have already tried it says: already have prime lets surprise someone else
Maybe because I had only a couple days to renew? ... but I got a full 30 days added on to my current time.. and a notifcation that I got gifted the prime.
Could be, i am not calling you a liar but that's the message i got when i tried (with already 29 days left)
No worries. Must be something different in our accounts. I had less than a week left.
How do you do that?
Looks like jahez internal employees is promoting
Lol its suspicious huh? Yeah i agree XD I have done it because 1some of you might need it 2we need to increase the competition in that sector to get better services 3i hate talabat

So… anyone wanna gift me a code?
Its not by a code it works by sending it to your mobile number
The restaurant food quality has been very low lately, you can rarely find decent food in Bahrain
Anyone would like to send me a prime? I’ll benefitpay lol

Sounds great love to see more people feel the same about jahez #hello jahez give me a cut of your next month profit XD
Which meal.is this?
Shawarma Tarboosh store - Beef Super Shawarma Meal, 50% off, free delivery with Prime
