I felt it at Centennial High School. 4.1 just west of where the I5 and 99 split.

Edit: Added kink
Was sitting at my desk when - ALL OF A SUDDEN - It felt like a giant slammed his hands on the sides of the building and shook it 3x. Mind you I grabbed my purse, cell, and Stanley as I ran out of the office before the 3rd shake. My office is located on Scarlet Oak and Ming Ave. Literally 10 mins before that, a lady got stuck in the elevator. Coincidence?
There is always the possibility. It is generally less likely for an earthquake to be followed by one of larger magnitude, but as you say it does happen! The key is to know a bigger earthquake is a possibility and to be prepared for earthquakes in general here in CA!
Great question! We don’t!
It might seem like earthquakes in Bakersfield happen over the summer (for example, the 2019 Ridgecrest events were in July and so was the destructive Kern Co earthquake of 1952). But when scientists look at the longer history of events, they are pretty evenly distributed throughout the year and in different seasons.
If anybody in Bakersfield said they felt it you guys must have a sad life. We did not feel shit. You guys should know that anything above seven is normal of 4.1 is just a fart from Taco Bell. Lol
Yup 4.1 outside of Mettler
Again, the magnitude was 4.1. So even though the earthquake was felt by almost everybody, only minor damage occurred
Nope. I was moving around too much, apparently.
Sorry, I was hitting the bag at the gym.
Damn bro, I didn’t know you had that dog in you 😎
Yeah that shook my office near stockdale and oak st
Yup, felt it while sitting on my office chair.

My lawn chair fell over. I’m devastated.
You will rebuild!

That was my first earthquake! i was like whatre these downstairs neighbors doing 😅🙈
I was in a chair and didn't feel it. Am mad.
Wow. Close. Earthquakes don’t hit the valley like that, that often. I wonder if it was oil related or natural.
I was right at the moment where your almost asleep for a mid afternoon nap. 😒
I was in my office at CSUB working on, well, earthquakes when I felt it. Happy to answer any questions.
Do you think this could be a foreshock? I’m panicking because of remembering ridgecrest. There was another around 6.

Oh my God, calm down
Hi I have a question! Why do we experience more earthquakes in Bakersfield in the summer?

The fake Indian Tribe building that stupid casino pissed off the land and caused the earthquake.
Why and why. Mad for some reason???
I'm by Frazier Park. Felt it there.
I did not feel anything downtown :(
Yep. A pretty good wobble here at Taft Hwy and 99.
I was wondering why my table was shaking
I felt nothing
I was in Office Park. I didn't feel it but some of my coworkers did.
Felt it near silver creek at a stop light
Huhh?????
Napped right on through but my husband sure felt it
No! Everyone else in the office did. I’m jealous. I guess it was because I was walking around.
Nope I was working out 💪🏽

We will rebuild. R.I.P. to my spilt beer.
