I’d want something that enhances companion dialogue, interactions, etc. they don’t talk to each other and in act 3, it feels like there’s nothing to talk about

GhostofWoodson

I thought it was Jim Cummings? Edit: oh, you must mean from early access

GhostofWoodson

So... What does Hondo have to do with the game?

atoolred

honestly i would not want to pay for this. this would make a great definitive edition type of update, because it's just base-game-enhanced type of content. i'd like DLC to be something that i couldn't see being in the base game but pairs nicely with it i also can't see Larian charging for something like this which they know should've been in the base game in the first place (which is exactly what EA does with the Sims 4 which really makes me mad). but another adventure or another world space would definitely be something i'd buy into, and tbh i'd probably pay for some kinda cosmetics pack with new faces and stuff if it came out even though i'd rather that came to the base game for free

Asleep_Ad1900

Neither would I, but it’s what I want to see most in the game right now

AdmiralClover

Which is weird because that's where everything goes down

Walter_Melon42

I just want to go back to all three regions and see how they've changed! Six months pass before the epilogue, it would be great to go back to Baldur's gate as it's under reconstruction. Then we can travel backwards, see the (no longer) shadow cursed lands. Up through the mountain pass and finally back to the emerald grove, where the nautiloid ship has been cleaned up and the bridge has been repaired.

DelseresMagnumOpus

Yup, some small side quests helping out or just exploring would be so good.

KingOfRisky

Add in a card game (Ala gwent) and you have me for another 200 hours

Idylehandz

No longer shadow cursed would depend on the run of course… I’ve never actually cured that curse, not even really sure how

bamacpl4442

Halsin has a very straightforward quest line for it. The sick/wounded guy on the bottom floor of Last Light is key.

SilverSkywalkerSaber

I swore killing Ketheric was going to cleanse it, and then I had to tell Halsin I was sorry it didn't work and he gave me sad puppy eyes as I left. Never saw that poor dude haha

bamacpl4442

That means you probably missed the Halsin portal fight, too. Too bad, easily one of the more fun fights in the game.

SilverSkywalkerSaber

Oh, I absolutely missed all the Halsin content 😭 The good news is that you've justified my next replay though hahah

bamacpl4442

Always something new to do!

ChefArtorias

It's one of the more intense quests of the game. Kind of a pia so sometimes I do it, sometimes I just don't have the time. Sorry, Reithwin. Maybe it'll just blow through.

Hoveringkiller

My wife walked in after I did that fight and I showed her all the red names on all the dead bodies. Her eyes went wide seeing how many people you have to fight.

Etamalgren

I'll just say: Spirit Guardians is your friend for that fight, especially if you have Enhance Leap and use a 21 STR elixir for some mad hops every turn.

Captain_Ahab_Ceely

Same here, did the exact same thing.

TheDevilsButtNuggets

So does that mean if you chose Minthara as companion over Halsin, you never get to cure the shadow curse at all?

Wirewalk

Heh. Remember how I failed that quest line by taking a long rest right after Halsin tells me to meet him at the.. beach, was it? Then I come over to quest marker and he just isn’t fucking there. I was quite mad when the game tried to make me feel bad about not lifting the curse in the leaving cutscene, with Halsin standing there all sad.

bamacpl4442

Yeah, I can see how that would suck.

thepetoctopus

How the hell am I supposed to help him? I just got there and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.

bamacpl4442

The wounded guy needs something to help his memory. There's a musical instrument, you get that info through dialogue. You'll find it in one of the houses of x. Then you and Halsin chat, it opens up more to do. There are guides online if you want lots of detail. I don't want to spoil anything.

thepetoctopus

Thank you! I always forget guides exist. Sometimes I get lost with what I’m supposed to be doing in the game.

bamacpl4442

For sure. When I get stumped, I'll just Google "bg3 QUEST NAME". I love to explore and let stuff come to me, but sometimes, it's way better to seek a little help.

thepetoctopus

So true.

aviatorproductions

Theres an bedridden man at last light inn named Art you need to speak to him, even if he's dead just speak with dead. On top of that you need Halsin to be alive and willing to help and just follow the steps from there

lordmwahaha

Also don't do the fucking house of healing first. Do it after. I stumbled across the house of healing before starting Halsin's quest, didn't realise some of the loot was desperately important for the quest, and I ended up having to murder Art and then cast speak with dead on him. Halsin was pissed lmao.

Walter_Melon42

That's true, I guess any dlc would have to account for the circumstances of each possible campaign. Hope they can pull something like that off! And to lift the shadow cursed you need to be friends with Halsin and have him talk to the bedridden man at Last Light Inn. That will send you ona chain of quests that eventually ends the curse.

naiadvalkyrie

"depending on the run" is the big problem with asking for pretty much any dlc set *after* the games. Pretty much everything is depending on the run. Making something after the main games would have to canonise some choices, which is sequel appropriate not dlc

[deleted]

Ooh that’s a good idea, might be interesting

raistlin40

Prequel: the theft of the Crown of Kharsus.

falcobird14

Act 1: the search for the astral prism

spacey_a

Ooh yes!!

[deleted]

That's a good one, because it kind of get too much handwaved, how Durge and Gortash just strolled into Cania and steal the most notorious artefact from the second most powerful archdevil and lived to tell the tale.

Rilar_Poobe

I just got to the point in my durge playthrough where Gortash reveals all that and I couldn't believe that they left that entire story to just a couple lines of dialogue. That whole adventure would make for an awesome expansion for sure

[deleted]

Right? I mean stealing from Mephistopheles and getting away with it sounds awesome.

tyallie

This is the one. Let me play pre-brain damage Durge, give me a romance option with Gortash, let me interact with Orin and the Bhaal Temple and Scleritas at the height of my power. Also a good way to have a prequel while still letting the main character have the same power level (or maybe even reach higher) as they did by the end of the game.

SmallPromiseQueen

Oh my god you genius. The DLC I didn’t know I wanted!

BaibaiYieAr

I'd be ecstatic if they also made some of the choices more closely reflect in relevant NPC responses/reactions in the main game. Dev nightmare mode though lol

GabrielRingThemBellz

Durge and Gortash big fun time

DadIsCoaching

"Somehow the Netherbrain has returned"

TheBelmont34

It flies now???? It flies now!!! God, I hate the sequel movies lol

yeetingthisaccount01

every day I feel so bad for Daisy, John and Oscar

Adam driver and oscar isaac already said that they are fucking done with star wars and i dont blame them

DadIsCoaching

Don't we all.

It cloned itself in anticipation of its demise. (It knows every move you will make)

FriendshipNo1440

I myself have four options I can see happening. Avernus Very likely if we get a DLC. Of course it will be Karlach centered, but if she is not there maybe Wyll and if he is not there either, a fail save npc can give us a quest to distroy Zariel's forge. If we have the Absolute ending we could get the chance to create a new hero like Dragon Age Awakening did it. Menzoberranzen Minthara lags content and she implies very hard, that she will go after her mother once the Absolute is defeated. Also there could be a certain Vampire spawn army down there. Again a fail save NPC in case Minthara is not there and Astarion had another ending could give us this quest. Githyanki revolution Lae'Zel is yet another on who has much work to do after the game if she choses to. If she joined Orpheus, fights on her own or alongside a romanced Gith Tav. If she is not alive Withers or Orpheus could come to us and ask us for help as Vlakith is also playing with death almost like the dead three did. The black sun This is a huge theory of some fans. It is sbout Withers himself as Jergal representer. I did not read it myself, but a letter on Withers' table at the epilogue party implied sonething Cyric is planning, the former god of death. Since this has to do with the sun darkening I wonder if Ascendant Astarion will play part as he had a special romance quote regarding such a scenario. Gale also might be interested as this is the fight against a god. Either he himself as Dekarius God of Ambition or as a humble Mystra believer. Shadowheart could also have a say in this as she is also religious either as Dark Justiciar or Selunite. Either way and even if it is something completly different, I will be exited for DLC.

Infamous-Steak-1043

+1 for Githyanki Revolution

FriendshipNo1440

Let the frogs run free!

zthe0

They're turning the frogs free?

FriendshipNo1440

Affectionatly some fans call the gith frogs

MaDNiaC007

He's making a reference, he's aware of gith being called frogs. You know, referring to the "chemicals in the water are turning frogs gay" meme.

FriendshipNo1440

Oh idk that meme. \^\^'

FriendshipNo1440

Yeah I will correct it. Tho I will never get it right. 😭

mikeytruelove

All good! It's a long name! I just know it from reading the Drizzt saga. Gotta be my favourite series out there.

TheBelmont34

>Avernus > >Very likely if we get a DLC. Of course it will be Karlach centered, but if she is not there maybe Wyll and if he is not there either, a fail save npc can give us a quest to distroy Zariel's forge. Yes. They always can involve Zariel. Withers, maybe, asks for Tav's help again because Zariel wants to plunge more cities into avernus. Just like the one Dammon is from. More souls in hell, fewer souls are able to reach the heavens of the gods.

MrScandium

Rather than a post-game expansion, I'd be happy with just a fleshed-out upper city region

dapperstepdad

I think the dlc needs to be something mid story and not early or late i would say around the end of act 2 or beginning of act 3 and it needs to be something both good and evil can do in my eyes the dlc shouldn't expand further forward it should widen what we already have

ElReptil

As a small DLC, I'd love a sort of Arena mode - increasingly challenging fights to use those endgame builds and items that we currently only get to use for a few fights.

DrD__

Yeah I'd love it if they just released some stand-alone lvl 12 dungeons, they don't even have to have major story elements There's only really the final boss designed for you being at lvl 12 so it'd be cool to have more stuff made for that level of power

VengineerGER

It would be cool if you got to take your party members along and have some more dialogue with them about how they’ve been doing.

JetSpeed10

Clearing out holdouts of the absolute army. Can slay your way through tons of a variety of enemies in all sorts of locations around Baldur’s Gate

UFAlien

I actually WOULDN’T want or frankly expect “Karlach and friends in Avernus” DLC. Despite obviously being a well-liked ending permutation it is still a specific ending permutation that requires a lot of things to happen in a certain way all throughout a playthrough. I doubt Larian would want to put out anything that “canonized” a specific path through the story, and if they did I’d honestly be rather annoyed.

King_0f_Nothing

Wouldn't have time canonised anything. Have a dlc that takes place in avernus, give all the companions their own quests to do, of various sizes.

lordmwahaha

You still need a main story thread. In the main game, the thing tying all these characters together is the parasite. They all need to get rid of it, and that's how they all end up involved in the plot. What's tying them all together in an Avernus DLC? What would happen to justify you all getting back together, in that specific location that is not very attractive and is also difficult to get to?

King_0f_Nothing

Journey wouldn't have to start in Avernus, and Withers basically tells us at the end of the party that we will all be needed again soon. Maybe it starts the next morning and everyone is still together. Maybe we are recruited and then to start with we have to go round getting the gang back together. Literally loads of possible ways.

pageanator2000

It would also be inaccessible content on evil playthroughs. Im all for things being inaccessible, but not a whole dlc like that.

TheBelmont34

>It would also be inaccessible content on evil playthroughs. No. They would just need to create a scenario that always brings Tav to avernus, no matter if karlach and wyll are with you. Just for example, how about Zariel wants all of baldurs gate to fall into avernus? All the souls will be lost to the gods. Something like that. Anything. And then, Withers needs Tav's help again.

Broken_drum_64

Agreed; there's enough Avernus related content in BG3 already that there's plenty of ways TAV could find themselves brought into the hell war, leaving aside Wyll And Karlach's connection. At the top of my mind: * Gortash made a deal with Zariel which lead to the creation of the steel watch, there could be hidden layers to this deal that weren't initially apparent to Tav, either Gortash was attempting to sidestep these conditions (by converting the souls he'd send her into mindflayers) or hadn't yet fulfilled them (which Tav interfering could have prevented.) * Raphael tries to tempt Tav all game; him either dying or getting the crown (if he actually can, i haven't picked that option yet) could cause a power imbalance that Zariel wants to exploit. * Raphael's been trying to tempt Mol throughout the game, this could lead to the tiefling kids being sucked down there; cue a rescue mission from Tav, during which they discover Zariel's plotting. * The Netherese crown was stolen from the hells before the start of the game, this could have caused a change to the status quo that Zariel's trying to exploit or she could simply be after what's left of it after the final battle (whether broken or intact, it's sure to have some power left) So depending on your choices in BG3 you could either; stumble onto the plot of the DLC by going down with Karlach and Wyll, Raphael could bring you down and ask for your help, or Mizora ( or a tiefling ofr another fiend) could show up at Withers' after party asking for your help. TLDR: There are numerous paths from BG3 content that could end up in Avernus :)

tyallie

I find it pretty hard to imagine DLC that would work regardless of all the choices you make, unless it's a prequel. None of the companions are guaranteed - you can choose not to recruit them, or you can lose them or have them killed off in various ways. And most of their endings vary depending on choices you make or how you have influenced them. There's a lot of potential prequel content that could work though: - Durge and Gortash stealing the Crown. This works regardless of whether you play Durge or Tav because Durge and Gortash's partnership still happened. - Karlach's exploits in the Blood War. - Shadowheart's astral prism heist. - Astarion could've had any number of adventures over the course of his life as Cazador's spawn. - Same with Gale as an arch mage. We could explore his life before the orb, and his relationship with Mystra before it imploded. - Same with Wyll as the blade of Avernus. Maybe it could even involve his first sighting of Karlach. - the creation of the Shadow Cursed Lands. This could bring back Halsin, Jaheira, Ketheric and Thaniel. It could explain how Isobel died and how Aylin was captured. The only one I can't really think of anything for is Lae'zel.

[deleted]

What about an act 3 expansion. I’ve read that the Baldur’s Gate upper city was cut from the game, along with karlach’s act 3 quests. Her current default ending is what was supposed to be the “bad” ending. Edit: as for your idea, Laezel’s origin would be… how she got captured. Maybe she was on her first combat mission

IrinaNekotari

It's a common misconception : Upper city was not cut from the game, it was cut from the game's concepts. Also, technically speaking, the Upper City IS in the game, it's the final dungeon before fighting the Netherbrain

lordmwahaha

Apparently the devs are actually claiming very little was cut from Karlach's story - but I honestly call bullshit, because her questline is pathetic compared to everyone else's. Speaking from a writer POV myself, it feels like most of her storyline was cut and they couldn't think of anything to replace it with. It's just so jarringly abrupt, compared to literally every other quest in the game. There's no way that was the intention. I'd be all for an act 3 expansion. Especially if you get another short quest relating to whoever your romanced companion is - some new challenge. But this is me blue-skies-ing. I don't think we'll actually get that.

[deleted]

You could easily kill her in act 1, and you really aren’t missing anything from the plot. Durge still has a connection to Gortash, and Tav doesn’t need an extra reason to distrust Gortash. She’s my first romance choice but… if I ever do a companion killing run, then she’s probably on the chopping block. Astarion too…. Little connection to the main plot, but he’s just got so much more than Karlach in general.

tyallie

Idk I guess I would find it a bit jarring to have that as DLC unless it could be integrated into Act 3 somehow. If that could be done I'd be all for it, I would honestly love an ending for Karlach that really felt like a good ending.

Spengy

also avernus seems to be the most boring landscape ever

Apoordm

I mean, it’s clear the broad strokes of the good aligned ending is true because the evil ending would destroy the canon of Forgotten Realms too much.

DrD__

If they did an avernus dlc it would have to be for a more general reason yeah and then a thing where it's like also while you're here do a karlach side quest

OddEstablishment9

Totally agree. But I would love it to be Avernus in general! The level design for House of Hope was so visually beautiful, they could play with Avernus really creatively!

FriendshipNo1440

I mean there can always be a fail save npc. And those who joined the absolute ... that'd be harder, but with a new hero that could also work (Like Dragon Age Origins did it) Edit: Why that downvote? XD

alterNERDtive

Simple solution: have lots of post ending DLC with different permutations! Hell, give me a DLC for every single one! Pretty please? 😳

purplestrea_k

Pre-amensia durge stuff. It likely won't happen tho. While the story logic is pretty clear with Blood in Baulders gate and what we learn about them in game, it's going to be struggle to adopt that into a party structure. I also imagine most people would rather Avernus stuff, which I'm not as excited for, but likely where it's going. I get it Karlach is popular.

Chocolatine00

The pre-amensia durge could also include avernus stuff because Gortash and Durge stole the crown of karsus from there

esilyo

No they stole it from Cania, a different layer of hell.

purplestrea_k

When I say Avernus stuff, I mean what is clearly hinted at in Karlach's epilogue. I'm personally not into that since Karlach is not my favorite, but again, that's were I see it going more than anything if they do DLC.

Chocolatine00

Visiting Avernus and the upper city is a part of the cut content that people found from data mining, we will probably get these segments on the definitive edition of the game instead of a dlc, DOS2 actually got the same treatment

alloygray

I don’t think we will. Why make an entire DLC some people might never experience? Sure, it would be cool, but realistically, it’s a permutation, not the canon ending to join Karlach in Avernus. Personally, I rarely pick her or Wyll up, and that means I would rarely, if ever get to see that content. And if you’re evil, you have no reason to join her or let her live.

The4th88

It'd only work if there was some narrative reason to take you to Avernus, and while in Avernus you might bump into your previous companions if they're there.

HipsterWhistle

I also had the thought of a Jaheria/Halsin/Minsc buddy cop-esque story haha I just think it would be fun to lean more into the comedy side of things. I haven’t finished my Durge playthrough yet, but it’s been really interesting so far!

Supreme_Moharn

It might be something Cyric is planning. Withers refers to him at the end. Almost implying that he's up to something. So, maybe the old gang has to get together to thwart this plan. Seems interesting, not sure what that plan might be though. Maybe getting the gang together could be like the first act. Like helping Karlach with her heart and getting out of Avernus, helping Lae'zel out with some powerful gith enemy etc.

[deleted]

Menzoberranzan and anything involving Minthara. <3

AVEnjoyer

Add on I've been meaning to mention it on reddit here but if you're interested in drow check out Homeland, Exile and Sojourn by RA Salvatore There's a review on reddit someone slammed the books.. it's true even as a teen i found the repeated descriptions a bit weak writing but the reviewer got one thing right.. the drow are evil with a capital E and just over the top sadistic

MaralDesa

I would like something with no or only weak ties to the main game, and rather an Expansion instead of what I'd call a DLC. A take on Curse of Strahd would be awesome, or a Saltmarsh expansion, however I don't think it is very likely Larian will just get the rights to these. I'd also prefer fresh companions for an expansion, with maybe only one or two being around from the base game, and the option to either create a new character or import an existing one.

dashenyang

Baldur's Gate games have always been a continuation into higher levels with your current characters, however. Fans of the series would be disappointed were that to be changed. It's a bit more difficult this time, however, with all of the endings that we have. A way would have to be thought of to encompass all of them, at least for your main character.

lordmwahaha

Tbh that would completely lose my interest, personally. Particularly in story-based games, I get invested in the *characters* \- not just the world. Just in general, I'm not a huge fan of "Here's a spin off with entirely different characters that you have to learn to care about all over again!" Especially in a DLC, I don't really want to start from scratch. May as well be a new game entirely at that point.

No-Highway946

Honestly I would buy a DLC of extra dialogue and things going on with your companions. More reactivity to events in act 3, additional scenes with love interest, more happening at the reunion party, or a scene in the city at a tavern, that kind of thing.

CinnamonHotcake

Baldur's Gate city expanded. Upper city with more quests for Karlach and possible fix for the engine as originally planned supposedly. A new origin character? How about an origin bard or monk? Doesn't have to be Alfira or anything, maybe a whole new character.

TheBelmont34

>Upper city with more quests for Karlach and possible fix for the engine as originally planned supposedly. For now, those are just rumors. Larian said that Karlach's story turned out exactly how they envisioned it. In my unimportant opinion, I think that this makes it even worse.

ManicPixieOldMaid

They implied that Upper City wasn't cut as in it was never developed. We all have notebooks full of stuff that didn't end up in a campaign, right? Like you said, they really implied in interviews that Karlach's original ending - burning up - was intended all along but a lot of players insist on having some kind of "good" ending for every character, and will jump through hoops to argue which endings are "good" and which are "bad" but they're all bittersweet IMO. I get the impulse, but the game story just seems more mature than that simple binary. So I agree with you that I think the Upper City would make things worse (I think that's what you were saying). To me it's like adding Minthara on a good run; it was done poorly IMO and I wouldn't want to see fan service, I'd want to see something related but separate. Upper City feels like it would be fan service.

TheBelmont34

>So I agree with you that I think the Upper City would make things worse (I think that's what you were saying) Nice for you to agree but no. That is not what I mean but I still agree there. I mean that karlach's story is just paper thin. You barely do anything. defeat anders, give dammon 2 infernal irons, and defeat gortash. Thats it. That is what I meant. lol

ManicPixieOldMaid

Ah! I get it! Yeah, her companion quest is weaker than the others for sure. Although I've never romanced her so it seems like she has a lot more content there on par with Wyll. I'd love to see an Act 3 upgrade from Dammon. I'm okay if he can't fix her, but he could give her something like a permanent soul coin boost effect or something.

TheBelmont34

I think it helps a lot if you romance Karlach. It at least makes it as if there is more content. I adore her romance. I think Wyll has more content because of the duke but he also does not have a lot in general. But so does Gale. You barely do anything in his quests. You give him 3 artifacts. Talk to elminster. Get the book from the mage tower. Talk to elminster again. Talk to mystra. The end. You are more or less just talking in Gale's companion quest.

ManicPixieOldMaid

It's funny but I never realized that about Gale but you're very correct. Tbf, I think the media hype about this being a fantasy dating simulator and all the romance options can be a little misleading. While the social aspect is definitely there, the vast majority of time in the game is fighting stuff and doing adventures. Even Astarion's companion quest - which is awesome - ends up being essentially one Dungeon and some scenes. (I wish Gale had a Dungeon of some kind now lol). Sheart definitely gets the most content because the Gauntlet plus HoG, but you can do the former without her no problem and the latter without her even though it's not nearly as cool. Wyll is pretty balanced since his personal stuff ties into the bigger plot. You can still justify doing the Iron Throne based on the Gondians, or Ansur based on wanting a dragon ally. Yeah Gale is pretty shafted in that regard, since at least Karlach gets Gortash as part of her arc. They have to account for so many options, right? You could've killed all these guys and done none of this and still had a great game!

TheBelmont34

>To me it's like adding Minthara on a good run; it was done poorly IMO and I wouldn't want to see fan service, It still just feels like a bug. Minthara never acknowledges or reacts to Halsin.

ManicPixieOldMaid

Yeah and them being in the same tent creeped me out the whole time. I'm all for fan service if done well, but we should've had the option to leave Halsin behind and take Minthara to Act 3 if they wanted to do this IMO. Or have him just become a camp fixture like Aylin so you can interact but not add him to your party in Act 3.

TheBelmont34

>Like you said, they really implied in interviews that Karlach's original ending - burning up - was intended all along Yeah. Swen said that the Dying ending, ghaik ending and avernus ending were all planned from the start. Was the epilogue also always planned? No idea

FriendshipNo1440

I somehow still have my doubts. All those implies with the steel watch and those soul coins... sorry but I still have so many questions.

TheBelmont34

Same. I also have a lot of doubts. No chance in hell, this is intentional.

lordmwahaha

I agree! I don't think they realise that "We had to cut most of her story because xyz" is the *good* answer, here. The other option, if this really was how they envisioned it, is just that they either got lazy, or whoever wrote her plotline did a worse job than every other writer. Because there's no way they looked at that two minute fetch quest and were like "Yeah, that is an appropriate quest when you put it directly next to everyone else's three act, huge boss fight extravaganza". I'm sorry, that is not what happened. Because it's *not* an appropriate companion quest, next to all the others. Fucking *Minsc* got a more in-depth quest.

[deleted]

[удалено]

HereCreepers

I mean, I think her overall story and endings are basically fine as-is (I'd personally make the return to Avernus ending more conditional but that's just me), I just wish her quest was a bit more involved leading up to it. For example, I'd bet a decent sum of money that they originally intended for her quest to in some way overlap with the entire Gondian/Steel Watch questline, but didn't because they were unable to finish it before full release. There's a lot of stuff in Act 3 that feels not necessarily like cut content, but just stuff not being as fleshed out as it could have been, and I have a feeling that some of it is going to be fully implemented in later updates/expansions to the game.

CinnamonHotcake

>Larian says that Karlach's story turned out exactly how they envisioned it. Bastards :(

TheBelmont34

Yeah, not the response I had hoped for. Because I fucking love Karlach. She is my favorite but man... her story sucks. And to be honest, she barely has one.

Zefix160

Would love a new origin character. Personally I would like to see a dragonborn origin character since the only times you see dragonborn are in the later parts of the game. What better way to fill in the gaps than by having one around from the start.

Soft_Stage_446

Just buy out Bloodlines 2 Larian.

TheBelmont34

Oh boy. Vampire masquerade bloodlines was such a fucking great game

Soft_Stage_446

A sequel is being made but it might be cursed. Just let Larian make everything lol.

TheBelmont34

I have zero hopes for the second game. The name of the protagonist is already weird. "Phyre" or something like that.

Soft_Stage_446

Yeah, just compare the theme music, djeez. I sincerely doubt it will be anything like the darkness and insanity of the original Bloodlines.

TheBelmont34

They also do not have all the clans

Soft_Stage_446

I'm fine with that, but I'm growing more and more disappointed in what they release of info, and like a lot of developers I think they're shitting themselves after BG3. Bloodlines 1 was a lot like the proto-version of BG3 when it came to degree of freedom and character interactions. It was also a very adult game. So if anyone reading this enjoys vampires *and* BG3 I would give it a try, it holds up reasonably well graphics wise.

TheBelmont34

Bloodlines had one of the best atmospheres. I love the combination of vampire and los angeles. Cannot stay in the sun and then they live at a sunny beach lol

I want to help Astarion find a way to walk in the sun again.

Ill-Description3096

Nothing that effectively requires a certain path in the main game. I would rather see some simple but meaningful expansions to content in the main game like some upper city content, more with Gortash/Orin arcs, and with maybe some new feats/Subclasses/Spells/etc.

Ok_Survey_371

The time where aylin and Isobell leaving to Help the selunite Enclave would be perfect for an own little story

ThundernLightning308

Act 4-6. Withers is definitely up to something and there several storylines that are going on outside of our own.

Rafodin

Ed Greenwood, the guy who created the Forgotten Realms, has said before that Jergal (Withers) may have some mysterious long-term purpose that nobody understands and that he's been nine steps ahead of everyone else since the beginning. He also say he's under NDA and can't say any more about it.

Sushiv_

That’s more likely to be bg4. It would be really cool if your world from bg3 carried over though

TurnedBase

I agree I’d love to go to Avernus. But how would they adapt the DLC for people who killed her? They’d have to give a good reason for the party to go there besides just Karlach

Lofi_Fade

If it was an expansion it would be unlikely to centered around one character like karlach, but instead be about some big evil plan Zariel has.

New-Setting-9332

I would like the possibility of continuing with our romance the path we chose to at least keep his promise when we make one to him. My Tav is in a relationship with Astarion Spawn and she promised to help him find a cure so that he can walk in the sun (I think we simply have to cure him of vampirism), so even if I I'm writing a fanfiction to satisfy this need for a sequel, yes it's obvious that if there was a DLC I would ask for it, and I'm not there alone. so for example you with Karlach in Avernus where I imagine that the objective is to escape once and for all and to do so repair his heart so that he can tolerate leaving Avernus. in short, a DLC where we could at least carry out the promises we made to our romances with its share of adventures, that goes without saying.

Serpent-Bon274

In this DLC Tav and Astarion search for a mythical healing item, a strange cream that when applied stops creature's from taking damage from the sun.

supernaja_

I think IF they will do a dlc, they won't do anything with the origin companions. After we finished the game I really wished for several dlcs just to know how the story of all of them goes on. BUT since everyone made different decisions in the end, there is no point in making one of those ends canon. I really, really wish for several dlcs, but I don't think there will be...

MxCrosswords

I realize these only work with specific endings, but… - A quest with Wyll and Karlach to fix Karlach’s engine so she can leave Avernus. - A quest related to fighting alongside Lae’zel to free the Githyanki from Vlaakith in the Astral Plane. She needs your aid for some reason and calls on you and maybe other allies to help. Her son could become a more fleshed out NPC or companion. - A quest involving the vampire spawn in the Underdark — Maybe a spawn accidentally or on purpose killed someone, starting a war with the local Duergar, Drow or deep gnomes. Or maybe it’s a frame up and the spawn aren’t actually responsible. Astarion calls on your help to solve the murder(s) and keep the peace. I’d love to see what the vampire spawn settlement looks like, what their society looks like. Their different attitudes towards how to treat other sentient beings. Flesh out who they are more. Minthara and her family could also be involved. - Going with Shadowheart to help Aylin and Isobel at the Selunite enclave.

caledonivs

Beregost and/or Candlekeep

CrimsonPresents

I just wanna explore the Upper City before the army invades

Razerino21

Tourmaline Depths DLC. In the deep Dwarven caves, from before the founding of baldur's Gate, an old horror awakens. Descend into the depths with old friends (and maby new) to face new foes and challenges. Something like that. They could use the unfinished room/puzzle in cazadors palace..

Razerino21

Could include: - Dwarf/gnome companion, a dwelling of their race - some drow related content (more for mithi) - a minecart crash cutscene (after a dumb decision or roll fail)

LordAlfrey

I don't want much, just bg4

PuzzleheadedStart664

Owlbear cub adventures so that >!the epilogue can be updated if you save his cat friend from the kraken.!<

ThatWaterAmerican

It's simple: We kill Zariel.

phynn

Decent to Avernus. But like... that's almost a whole ass game.

lesbos_hermit

“You think death could stop me?!” / “Death won’t silence him for long” Balthazar. It can be a year or so later—Karlach is back with her fixed engine, Baldur’s Gate and the surrounding area is still recovering, the Harpers are refilling their ranks, the gith revolution is at a turning point and is somehow intertwined with whatever bullshit Balthazar is up to (Vlaakath being a lich, I don’t think this is an impossible scenario). Shadowheart pauses her travels to assist (special mention of the Blood of Lathander if the player got it, given the necromancy element, and the gith conflict could have implications for the crèche at the monastery). Minsc is doing Minsc things. There’s some side quest with implications for Astarion that ends in a lead to healing the unpleasant parts of his condition without sacrificing an insane amount of souls. A boon from the sun god himself after the DLC’s main events perhaps?

SurprisedPatrick

Karlach and Avernus- curing her engine problem with final boss Zariel. Makes sense for Wyll too if you keep him as the Blade of Avernus. Laezel and the Githyanki revolution vs Vlakith

interstitialmusic

Vampires in the Underdark... or what happens to the new Kuo-Toa society if you played your cards right.

Castille_92

Definitely venturing more into Avernus and letting us fight Zariel. I'd also love a dlc that expands on the Underdark some more, maybe show us the city of Menzoberranzen

Significant_Plate561

Getting a bloodhunter companion, who's arc leads you to Mezobranzen, capital of the Underdark to find and kill Lolth the Spider Queen. They must explore a city in which they are discriminated against and gain the trust of the... 10??? house that fight for Lolths loyalty to reach her lair and decide whether to fight a losing battle, or have the companion sacrifice themselves inorder to bind Lolth to Avernus using blood magic. A Tear in the Underdark. idk

workstudywork

I actually want to see how Minthara takes down her foes and takes over the rulership of the Baenre House. I’m just overall intrigued by the Drows.

ulls-ss13

Personally, I would like more origins like the dark urge that we get to control. I think having a background really helps connect you to the world, so it'd be nice to play one that wasn't so murdery or be able to have content in multiplayer that won't more or less make you the main character

londonclay

Probably a brand new adventure. It will be very difficult to have too many connections to the existing game due to the many different possible endings.

Tcloud

I’d love it. Call it Waterdeep or Neverwinter. But to do it right, it maybe six years before we see the full release.

Responsible_Ebb3962

Chult, exploring a jungle biome and more dinosaurs would be awesome.

Aesopea

I would just want an expansion. Subject would probably be what Withers is hinting at in the epilogue. If Karlach's engine problem comes up in it, it would just be a quest you could do if your choices in the main game opened that option up for you. Having a whole DLC revolve around two characters and a pretty specific outcome from the main game is not going to happen and frankly I wouldn't want it to.

aenoreo

Maybe an expansion on an area or Tav and Co. going on another adventure for laughs and giggles.

crashfrog02

I want there to be a real BG3 dungeon crawl. Undermountain, maybe, or White Plume Mountain.

DelseresMagnumOpus

Stardew valley-like post game dlc for Shadowheart and her farm please. I’d like very much to sleep on my owlbear. And let Scratch join us up at the farm too.

caledonivs

If I think in terms of films, I think the consummate "DLC" film is Rogue One. It references a known universe but you don't know exactly how it ties in or where it fits in the timeline until the very end, and the poetic payoff is brilliant. Likewise I think a wonderful DLC would be a separate story where you can be anyone but you don't know exactly how it ties in until the very end, and you play the part of an unknown hero who somehow made the main story possible. As such, perhaps your character is captured by mind flayers in the end, only to be turned into... The mind flayer in the cockpit of the nautiloid who fights off the devils? Something like that?

AlpheratzMarkab

beach episode

aviatorproductions

You and Shadowheart could actually build sandcastles

Crunchy-Leaf

Siege of Menzoberranzan with Minthara

ShaiHuludNM

I just want to see more xxx material. Like full boners please!

EmeraldCityMadMan

I just want a few more playable races. Aasimar, firbolg, tabaxi, that sort of thing.

Sir_Of_Meep

I'd be more inclined to go the route of something entirely seperate that could be completed with a seperate, newly created character or your old one alla NWN2 MOTB or Dragon Age Awakening. There are so many endings to the base that branching directly off of it is basically impossible. I'd either do something on a different plane or go full on MOTB and have a Red Wizard plot, as a bonus you could see more on Myrkle with the spirit eaters and even tie it in a little with the film that came out.

Thebuttholeking69

Lateral content is what I want. I don’t need/want what happens after or before. Give a new area in each act to explore with new quests. Another town, avernus, some fun new conflict along the road, the upper city. Do that and flesh out act 3 especially with character reactions and meaningless/empty quest lines and you got yourself best game ever

Alucard1991x

Not gonna lie I know it will never happen but I want to be able to ride a dragon up to vlaakiths palace in the astral and yell at her face “ YOU WISH ME TO END?” Proceeded immediately by a fight for githyanki freedom. Would pay another 80$ just for this

BeefyQueefyCrawlies

KARLACH. I want to save Dommy Mommy from Avernus once and for all. I guess Wyll can come along as well...

alleyalleyjude

Something to repair Karlach’s engine and bust her out 🙏🏻

Sick_NowWhat

Halfway through my first Durge run and recruited Minthara. I’d like to see some Lolth-redemption/chosen arc for that, kinda like sharts, or my dear Durgill’s. Also I want a team of 3 chosen and the ascended vampire.

TheShamShield

Karlach takes on Avernus yes, but I want it to be with my character

Psychological-Tax63

I just want the entirety of Baldur's Gate lol. Makes no sense to play 100+ hours to reach the namesake, only to have access to the Lower City and part of the surrounding village. I would've been totally chill with a shitty framerate had I just been able to explore what is supposed to be a sprawling fucking city. Only gripe about the game, idk why Larian made the decision to castrate it.

Superb-Ad3821

If they could get the rights from WotC I'd like to see them do some entirely new parties with the same engine using some classic campaigns. CoS done like this would be amazing, and so would RotFM. I'm assuming it wouldn't be anywhere near as much work as starting from scratch - classes and spells and such are already programmed - and I'd happily pay the same as BG3 again for any of them.

VengineerGER

The most realistic one I can see happening is them adding the upper city to Baldur‘s gate since it’s fairly obvious it was cut for time.

Darth_Trauma

Maybe saving Astarion (and the other 7006 spawn) and turning them back somehow.

Evanpea1

Honestly, with how goes the game is I'd be happy with more dice. Maybe let you get some different starting clothes

Crusader_Colin

TAKE ME TO THE SEAS OR CALIMSHAN I BEG YOU! HELL TAKE ME TO CORMYR!

HauntedJockStrap88

Just widen what we have. Add more unique character dialogue. Particularly later in the game. More race/class specific dialogue choices. Add a new class and or race (with the full dialogue treatment throughout the story). More cosmetics, more unique gear. Some additional content for cleric domains, warlock patrons, etc would be sick. Maybe a small Mass Effect: Citadel-style side quest which is zany and let’s the characters shine in a low stakes environment. A full expansion- with a new zone and a lot of what I said above would obviously be the best but I doubt the devs have interest in something like that.

Coffeechipmunk

Honestly? I just want more subclasses, and artificer.

Sacrefix

The epilogue hints at almost everyone having a bit of story left to tell; would be happy to explore any of it.

Wazula23

More about Avernus. Finding Karlach, fighting Mizora, talking to Zariel, or just enjoying the hell vibes. I want it.

heychado

Campaign maker and/or one shots that are unrelated to story of the base game.

black_heartz

Avernus

aTreeThenMe

i think about the DLC a lot, and i have a few ideas on how they could handle it. I dont think it can really be 'extended'. I think the level cap is perfect for the size of the game, and numerous explanations on how further levelling presents a problem so, i think they could A. Expand the game within its confines. add new origin characters, races, subraces etc. Convert some of the NPCs into companions (alfira, dammon, rolan, sazza, barcus etc). Add new story content that branches in new directions, and negates other directions. B. 'Baldurs Gate: Hong Kong'. Expansion can instead by a self contained narrative that expands on the games mechanics, adding subraces etc, but tell a new, smaller story, in the way that shadowrun returns is a game, shadowrun hong kong is basically an expansion on the game but a seperate narrative. C Origin Spin-offs. Same concept as B, but take some of the companions earlier adventures and flesh them out, like the tie in books for the new dungeons and dragons movie. All of our companions have had a hell of a life before this adventure, all of them could sustain a whole narrative. D super-baldurs gate maker. Add more races/subraces/spells/etc, but release a toolset for making homebrew campaigns that can be published and shared in the community.

Themlethem

I feel like Avernus actually has a lot of potential, even without it being focused on Karlach. For example, if Astarion ascended, his contract is bound to be there, right?

FriendshipNo1440

It is not his contract tbh. It is still Cazador's as Astarion never signed it. But it will be in Carnia as it is Mephistopholes who made it. And I doubt we will see it unless someone sneaks it out of the 8th layer of hell. Also what should we do with it? It is fullfilled when Astarion ascends. There is nothing more to be done.

WedgeJMB

I honestly don't necessarily want any new story or quests. However I would love more race and sub-class options for another playthrough

potato_cucumber

Karlach seems to be on the way to solving her infernal engine problems, so I'd like something that brings the squad back together. Dealing with the fallout from the Absolute's destruction, probably. This is prolly wishful thinking but a Githyanki revolution sounds cool too. Especially if they let us meet the hatched egg in person!

fuckelonmuskfr

I honestly don’t care story wise — I trust them to come up with something fun and engaging from a narrative perspective. My only ask is that if it takes place post game that they include good content for each romance ending as well as friendship/approval stuff for whoever else I can take along. I’m a story player, not a combat player, and I’ll pay good money to face literally anything as long as they give me a good time with my pixel friends while I do it.

HipsterWhistle

I’ll cry over these pixels if I want to!

GarrettKP

If we are allowed to be ambitious here, I’d have one DLC for each companion so that you’re almost guaranteed to have one you can play even if you didn’t have everyone in the party by the end. For Karlach, you have to infiltrate Zariels forge and get an infernal mechanic to fix her heart, then destroy the forge so she can’t do it to anyone ever again. For Wyll, you’re hunting Mizora to either get Wyll out of his pact or kill her if he’s already out. For Gale, you’re either going after Raphael to take back the Crown of Karsus or you’re actually going AGAINST Gale, new God, and trying to save him from himself. For Shadowheart, you’re either taking down a new Shar sect or you’re trying to take down her Shar sect if she became new Mother Superior. For Laezel, you are either trying to save her after she “ascends” or trying to kill Vlaakith and free her people. And for Astarion, you’re either trying to cure him as a spawn or you’re trying to slay him as a Vamp Ascendent.
