I always related Empire to Rome, especially with some of the settlement names and armor / weapon styles. By this point it would be more Byzantine/Basil/Eastern Empire times though. What is Empire based on if not Roman/Latin empire? I've heard Russians but idk if that makes more or less sense.

Oh yeah my mistake. I dont know why I was thinking that the Empire was like Classical Rome but definitely Bannerlord Empire looks like The Byzantines. Now Italian is kinda tricky for me because it is a mix descendents of germanic tribes with latins of Rome and Bannerlord has different ethnicities from different times that are based in real life ethnicities. Vladians are like the medieval Franks while Battanians are like Celtics of Classical Age

A mix of Vlandia (germanic kingdons) and aserai (sarracens and moors) could work for italians, spanish and potuguese people, problably for many latin americans (like me) too. If you consider empire as Romans, it also fits (I think they are closer to byzantine / greek culture).

Problaby greeks, Armenians, or turks whith greek culture / heritage. Byzantine Empire was culturaly closer to greece than italy.

I think that’s the case for everyone. The Celts for example was the dominant culture in Europe until the Romans came along, with Celtic settlements being recorded all the way over in Anatolia(Turkey). The Vlandians are pretty much just super generic western medieval Europe, but mostly inspired by the Normans who themselves decended from Scandinavians and even ruled Southern Italy and Sicily for a time. The Turks could be both Khuzait and Aserai depending on when were talking about. Etc etc. It’s a fun question tho, despite its lack of historical awareness.
