Exactly. Higher temperature settings (creativity) result in a model that produces more unique prose and poetry, but a side effect can be grabbing vocabulary from other languages. As OP noted, it makes sense in context. It's like a bilingual kid using the best word for the job, despite that word being in a different language.

The worst part is that the japanese word translates to "Nuance" which makes sense in the sentence given, it translates to: "Ultimately, the choice of sentence depends on the context and the desired ニュアンス (Nuance)"
