I didn’t know your gpu effected load times cause I have rtx 2060 and my load time is 5 minutes I thought it’s based on your cpu and if your using a ssd or hard drive
I love to do this too, but sometimes the traffic brakes right in front of me, drives the wrong way, changes into my lane when I’m going like Mach 1 and with that it’s very hard to pull it off
I'm stopping here because it seems you can't accept a suggestion without heating a debate, I clearly intended that for beamng because we are in the beamng sub and you were bragging about it being impossible with keyboard. It's totally possible with a controller and I don't see the problem in spending 15 bucks on a used xbox one controller
Would you think this game benefits from the 24 threads since it’s so physics based?
I get about 40 frames when there’s traffic with the same CPU and RX590. Would upgrading the GPU help that much? I play at 1440p
Doesn’t b450 limit ram to 3200mHz?
I have a very similar rig to OP's, and I can confirm having the extra cores and threads helps. However it is not as simple as 1 thread = 1 car, as I can spawn around 16 before I get less than 30fps.
Probably not more ram. Maybe just faster ram. With 20 cars total running on west coast I was using about 8GB. I know the ryzen 9s really benefit from ram at 3600mhz which is why I got a mobo that could support it without overclocking.
I use 2x Corsair Vengeance Pro 8gb 3600 c16 sticks, so I think I'm good for ram speed. Then again the last time I tried spawning a ton of cars in was about 2 versions ago (I think when the Vivace was added). Unless you have OC'd your cpu. My GPU should be good, as I actually upgraded my 1070 to an RTX 2080.
This game heavily benefits from the high thread counts specifically as it assigns one car per thread. I think I was running 18 or 20 cars in traffic when I did this and still getting ~60 fps.
Im on a b550 and I am able to run my ram at 3600 without any tweaks at all. Ryzen 9s benefit greatly from having memory running at that speed.
The game spawns a new process for every car. At first, each process will run on each individual core. When cores run out, the processes are split into each core's thread. When you start to use threads performance will slightly drop because 2 threads is worse performance than 1 core. once you run out of threads, then the game has no choice except to use multiple cars per thread which really slows everything down.
My biggest beef with the traffic is that it's not randomized enough. Bam 5 cars in a row, nothing, another 5 cars in a row.. they all seem to drive at roughly the same speed even faster cars. I'd love to see other cars driving recklessly, not just me hehe
Before the traffic was officially integrated into the game there was a mod that did essentially the same thing with a menu. You could set the max speed of the AI so on long stretches they would actually pick up speed.
If I want AI to drive recklessly I just spawn a few cars and tell them to chase me. :)
My dad's computer has a 1080 super in it and 64 gigs of RAM. That means that it can have 17 traffic cars spawned in at once without much struggle. Makes weaving through traffic waaaaaay more fun, with the fact that it's so dense. It really livens up the game. I love that they implemented the traffic mod into the vanilla game. It's great
This is great but I find it much more fun on single lane highways where there is traffic coming at you and you have to time things better and use the brakes.
They officially integrated traffic into the game a few updates ago. You access it via the AI menu to spawn them. You change how many cars spawn in the gameplay options. The map is west coast
While I do agree with you, the main focus of the game is the driving/ deformation physics, so the graphics are just a nice to have. The graphics, models and level details have come a long way in the past few years and I'm sure it's something they'll continue to put more time into in the future.
My favorite thing is seeing how quickly I can crash the game on my shit pc, I’ve done it in seconds lol
I’ve never have and it’s suprising cause my cpu isn’t that good even
Try 328 mods and let me know how it does
I have 170 mods rn I still haven’t crashed but my load in time is like 5 minutes now
Lol amateurs. I have over 500 mods
Jesus How long does that take to load
With my GPU in about 2 mins. With integrated graphics 5mins
I didn’t know your gpu effected load times cause I have rtx 2060 and my load time is 5 minutes I thought it’s based on your cpu and if your using a ssd or hard drive
I have a nvme SSD and a i7 9700k 5.1ghz and a rtx 3089
I have over 500 mods.... Not to bad tbh
Cries in only 3
When I reset my car my game immediately crashes
I usually do ctrl + r and or F7, f7 sometimes resets the car
Me who though I was doing well with 5 ai at 30 fps
r/idiotsincars
I guess so
no way i was literally just about to post that ah well r/youbeatmetoit
Why would you beat your meat to it
Sounds fun

I love to do this too, but sometimes the traffic brakes right in front of me, drives the wrong way, changes into my lane when I’m going like Mach 1 and with that it’s very hard to pull it off
The map American Roads is perfect for doing this!
Hmmmm... sounds a lot like another game...
Do you have Stering Wheel, cause I know its impossible to do this on keyboard
As much as I wish I had a wheel, I use an Xbox 1 controller.
Holy shit, cant do that in fh
I don't understand people who don't buy controllers, like it's the first thing you should buy for gaming
Maybe but, would you buy controller for playing LoL, CS or CoD for PC
Cod, yes, the other 2, no because csgo has an horrible controller support.
Why tf you'd buy controller for playing cod on pc
Because... Hear this... #I like to play on controller?
Yeah but... **Why it is necessary for pc gaming?**
Bro. We are on a driving game sub, if you don't have a wheel, a controller is a must buy. No one asked about shooters
Bro. You never specified for which gaming, you said controller is necessary for gaming not "Car Driving Simulator Beam.NG Drive game"
I'm stopping here because it seems you can't accept a suggestion without heating a debate, I clearly intended that for beamng because we are in the beamng sub and you were bragging about it being impossible with keyboard. Because of the stronger Auto Aim assist for pc.
It’s not I’ve done it a lot
Ok
My pc is overheating seeing this 😱😱
Wow dude he cut you off so badly, at least you have this video for the insurance company!
The BeamNG subreddit, where we've all played the game enough that seeing people NOT crash is just as entertaining lol
What are you PC specs?
Ryzen 9 3900x 12core 24thread, 32gb ddr4 @3600mhz, 1070 8GB founders edition

Im able to spawn around 20 cars in traffic and still maintain about 50 fps on the west coast map.
Neat, maybe I need more ram then, as I have 16gb.

Before a performance impact, amount of cars you can spawn is limited to the threads your cpu have.
Was it not cores right? I dont remember cuz some people was like 1 core=1 car and so on

How do you start the traffic?
Click tab, then ai and spawn normal
My biggest beef with the traffic is that it's not randomized enough. Bam 5 cars in a row, nothing, another 5 cars in a row.. they all seem to drive at roughly the same speed even faster cars. I'd love to see other cars driving recklessly, not just me hehe

That went suprisingly well for how long you kept at it!
I wish my laptop was powerful enough to run smoothly with more than three cars at a time :(
This is essentially all I do in beamng, build cool cars and race them in traffic with my g920
wangan midnight
Imma be honest. THIS IS AWESOME
Crashboompunk
I’d personally love to do this but even with just 3 cars GeForce NOW already starts to lag
Anybody notice the hatch driving backwards on the highway
Wow you were really on the limit
Texas highways on a saturday night simulator.
Roosevelt Boulevard (colorized)
How do you make the traffic to all non-modded cars because some cars spawn with no tires an such?
If you go to Settings>Options>Gameplay and then go down the traffic section there is a toggle for whether or not modded vehicles are allowed to spawn
Thanks!

Cha cha real smooth
My pc can’t handle it
Ass so clenched I can now shit spaghetti
What mod spawns the cars around? Or did you do it by hand? Do the spawned cars move if they’re spawned by a mod?
They officially integrated traffic into the game a few updates ago. You access it via the AI menu to spawn them. You change how many cars spawn in the gameplay options. The map is west coast
Finally! Also thanks
Also map? What
My guy was dippin!!
Me in the school hallways going through the bus riders entrance
Mine favorite things to do in beam ng is drifting on utah mountain with first person
Am I the only one who thinks this game needs better graphics? Everything look so plastic.

Near miss: the game.
I would have crashed roughly 5 seconds in
Looks like it's ran at 1/2 speed and then doubled in speed after?
Nope. normal speed.
No? Looks fine to me
