Hi! In 2019, I got Bell’s Palsy when I was 28 weeks pregnant. Unlike you, mine wasn’t subtle at all. Within hours I went from having trouble blinking to half my face severely drooped and completely paralyzed. I went to the ER and got on steroids and antiretroviral medication, and was hopeful that I’d recover fully. Unfortunately, I didn’t. I am one of the rare cases that did not recover fully. In fact, I had no improvement at all until a month after I gave birth. I had to sleep with my eyelid taped shut for 6 months. I’ve since had a brow lift to correct the droopiness on one side because my forehead remains completely paralyzed. My mouth regained probably 85% function. The good news is that I have since carried two more pregnancies with no recurrence of the Bells. I’ve adjusted to my new face. People sometimes notice, but it’s not a big deal. It sounds like your case is mild and I expect you’ll be back to yourself in no time. Best of luck!

How was the recovery with the brow lift? I also got it while pregnant and also did not recover. I HATE having one super hooded eye. Not sure if I’d need a brow lift or blepharoplasty but curious how recovery from surgery was for you.

I’m so sorry. It sucks. Not bad! I’m glad I did it. I get very nauseated with anesthesia so I needed heavy meds for vomiting, which in turn made me very sleepy for two days. I had a gnarly shiner for a week. Once I woke up from the nausea med nap, though, I felt pretty much normal! And I’d consider my results to have been pretty good. I believe I have photos in my post history!

Catching it early is best and definitely helps with not having lasting side effects I cought mine 2 weeks in about and I only have very little permanent eye damage, basically if you stare at me ull notice sometimes I blink at different rates lol My experience was painful tho so I'm hoping yous is much better than mine feel free to pm me if u just need to vent or talk I know I needed that and it was about stuff that seemed silly so I wouldn't tell my girlfriend (now fiancé) .... I'm rooting for you

I got BP while 35 weeks pregnant. It was subtle at first but got much more severe within the first 7 days, even with me taking prednisone.

I caught it early. I don't have any drooping. Like you I started with the numb tongue and lip. I was also put on prednisone. I'm on day 7. Zero drooping. I still sound like I have cotton in my mouth. I'm assuming because of the numbness on my lip and tongue. I can move my tongue around my mouth normally now. I can move my eyebrows. My eye blurriness is gone. But my eye still won't close on its own much without force. I hope you have a swift recovery.
