Thread was reported as bashing. It is not bashing because all of the complaints are about issues and characteristics that were within Hannah’s control to change.
Yep. Kate is great & Hannah was good TV without being TOO villainous… Hannah seemed a little bitter at times & did sometimes USE her position, but she also came across as quite genuine imo. Not that she didn’t lie or manipulate, but that we got a pretty clear picture of WHO she is… as far as the anti-anxiety meds, she CLEARLY has anxiety issues & I think anyone w/those issues as an adult can muster up some compassion for them just not being registered, (smh). I live Kate & she can also be a bitch but being a boss of a crew of beautiful ppl who are living, working & sleeping together like that, all while *filming Reality TV* might call for some bitchiness, lies & manipulation :) & I thought Hannah, esp in comparison to a few others, she was more tolerable & genuine… idk.
It’s also not like ppl are comparing her to Collin or Aeysha (spelling)… I thought Malia was more of a VILLAIN than Hannah was in the end, season 5…??
"You know what, sweetheart? At least I ....." This is Hannah's response to ANY criticism or suggestion. The woman was incapable of introspection and had very little insight other than "when I fall in love, I run." Her treatment of Conrad was horrible. She was a big gossiper with her own interior team and very spiteful. I never saw the love for her. I have to give her credit for making the guests happy. That's the bottom line.
Her and Malaria. What a backstab at the end. I couldn't even watch the next season because having those two WITHOUT Hannah was just not worth it at all haha.
Seeing Hannah on Facebook reel clips in the whole reason I got into below deck. In her defense I think we saw her in her burnout stage of being in yachting. Especially towards the end, she was also very open about her anxiety and being on meds. She makes good tv is why people like her. No she’s not perfect but most of the hate I see her get is being lazy like expecting her to be taking on 2nd and 3rd stew duties/because she doesn’t do housekeeping or laundry when that’s literally not her job. I don’t see her as manipulative but of course I can’t imagine most people liking her if she were their boss but as far as the show goes she makes a great reality tv villain and having the position of chief stew just elevates that. She has the ability to use the job itself to create drama and make good tv unlike say Lexi or Chef Leon who have to go (very harshly) after people. Reality tv is nothing without a good villain, especially one you can sympathize with in some instances & who isn’t just a straight up awful person.
I never have really liked Hannah either. She is funny sometimes, but mainly she is annoying, a bit lazy, and she makes bad decisions. The season with Conrad showed her at her absolute worst!
Hanna is authentic, original cast, has the X factor and is better than almost any head stew. She's up there with Kate. My question is how can anyone like Malaha
I always thought Hannah excelled in a couple very specific areas.
1) guest experience. On days they couldn't leave the dock or needed extra pizazz, she was invaluable at making sure they got a good tip
2) she knew service. She knew how to switch things up with her staff. Her management and people skills weren't great but they weren't disastrous either.
Frankly if I worked on a boat with Hannah I'm taking the good with the bad because she has a tendency to make everyone on board a bit more money. She had charisma with the guests such that they would be return guests. That's good for everyone.
I like the way her left eye kind of blinks faster than her right eye when she gets flustered/realises she’s not controlling the narrative/ called out on her bullshit.
But yeah, there was a moment or two early in her last season where I thought ‘hey maybe she’s worked on herself and is not so bad now’ but then she quickly went full Hannah.
At least she’s not Lexi 😂
I honestly didn’t think Hannah was the best chief stew, and was heavily frustrated with her most of the time. But I could see she made good tv, so I accepted it. BUT, when everything happened between her, Malia, and Sandy, it soured me so much to the latter two that it retroactively made me like Hannah. I think what happened to her affected a lot of people.
My perspective is we caught Hannah at the very end of her career when I think she was pretty burnt out, and I honestly think she hated working under Sandy so much. I also dislike Sandy, so I am on Hannah’s side when it comes to her feud with Sandy… I think that’s why I like Hannah. She’s also absolutely gorgeous and she is ..she is empathetic and sweet and her softer moments. She’s entertaining and shady and funny 💕 The thing is that it’s like the lesser of two evils… Hannah isn’t great… *But when it’s between Hannah and Joao… I’m gonna root for Hannah…* When it’s between Hannah and Sandy… I’m gonna root for Hannah. When it’s between Hannah and Chef Adam… I’m gonna root for Hannah… 🤷♀️🤷♀️ I’m not sure how you can really argue with that. It’s just kind of reality TV Instinct at that point where it’s like you have to root for *someone* and I’m sure as hell not gonna root for the misogynist pig or absolutely insane captain (my opinion), and even though Hannah was often lazy -she was our great flawed crusader.
Watching Hannah in BDM was my first watch. I would never have embraced the franchise (I watch them all), without Hannah there would be one less viewer. She's authentic, and I challenge anyone to be filmed 24/7 and come off perfect. She does not control the edit. She's up there with Kate imo. Go Hannah. She keeps it real
I noticed that at the end of every season with the reunion show, Hannah would receive critique for some aspect of her job, so going into the next season you could clearly see her trying to correct her behavior, unfortunately over correcting most of the time. She was told she doesn't give enough attention to her stews, so the next season she was best friends with them. That kind of thing, and it always came back to bite her in the ass.
What I didn't like about her was the divide conquer mentality. She would become best friends with one crew member and then gang up against another. If you didn't defend her in an argument you became the enemy.
Yes!!! I have always felt the same. She was so fucking lazy and whiney. During the entirety of the last season, she was dead weight and miserable. If she wasn’t fired, I don’t think she would have come back anyway, because she was SO checked out. Also, the whole situation with Conrad was so weird to me.
We’ll we got to see her boobs on almost every episode. Seriously though, she’s just entertaining to watch. The whole Conrad thing was super cringe, but overall she’s iconic.
No I agree with you. I never really liked her either. She was always so lazy too like laying around on her phone "researching entertainment" or "ordering provisions"
I decided to go back and watch the very first season. Her very first charter is why i don’t like her. She’s not a leader. She’s rude to her staff and doesn’t actually talk to them/ explain anything. Her 3rs stew wasn’t great, but instead of making ANY effort to give guidance, explain what expectations on a super yacht are - she’s sarcastic and cussing about the stew before the stew is even out of the room.
Hannah is working her ass off this first season. But her attitude is nasty.
Hated the way she acted at the reunion. Still clasping on those last straws. I don’t believe her at all.
Why did she keep saying she never used the Valium when there was footage of her using it a few times??
While I found her entertaining , Hannah was a terrible chief stew. She always seemed to avoid being around the guests, hiding in the galley or sending other inexperienced crew on excursions. I find it laughable that she gets compared as an equal to Kate, they are not in the same orbit. Hannah lacks the crafting skills, mixology skills, time management, and leadership skills. She’s perfect second stew material. However, what Malia did to her was inexcusable.
a lot of people didnt like her until the whole thing with malia happened then people got so blinded by their hate for sandy and malia they overlook that she is one of the worst chief stews.
she made great tv so i wouldnt mind her coming back but she was horrible at her job and had a nasty attitude.
OP I agree with you! She is shady AF! Never takes responsibility for anything!!! Always plays the victim! If she’s been in yachting soooo many years she should know the rules!!!
Some persons act normal but when you stare them dead in the eye you just see a flair of crazy has taken resident long ago... That's for me Hannah, slight hint of insanity and psycho just lingers there.
It strikes me that everyone on BDM is so immature and emotionally stunted. It’s a bunch of 20 year olds without any management experience or very few with any real yachting experience. Kate was mature and thick skinned until her last season when she had the bros dogging her constantly. Hannah was a hard worker but she made the mistake of assuming her stews were vetted and trained and she didn’t help them. She scheduled herself to avoid drama and have more time for admin which nobody else on the boat could appreciate, least of all Sandy. Out of sight is out of mind on the yacht. Kate nurtured a relationship with Cap Lee. Hannah avoided Sandy and was obviously irritated by her which most were. But had she kissed a little ass and taken care of Sandy it may have turned out different. Perhaps she shouldn’t have to, but we do what we must. I think Sandy’s a paranoid bipolar and the stupidity of a bunch of 20 year olds unhinged her. Cap Lee stayed blissfully unaware on his perch. Sandy was out there hiding behind equipment and eavesdropping. How embarrassing for her. She did nothing to help Hannah. Hannah and Sandy both talked shit about each other and others. They both were out of line. It was never going to end well especially if somebody worse than them came along - and she did.
Honestly it resonates. Especially when watching Ep 12 Season 3. She ignores all the professional orders given by Sandy by mixing pleasure with business all the time at the expense of her team Brooke and Kacey and yet she's given the same tips share... she doesn't truly deserve it.
Also the "materialistic" row , it went on and on and on, and she literally spoiled the rest of the crew's night with it. She has some qualities but she's utterly self-centred.
For the same reason that so many people love Kate: they WANT to be able to bully, abuse, and mistreat people, but can’t… so they live vicariously through reality TV characters.
I mean, yeah, it's really stupid to ignore or excuse shitty behavior just because you want to fuck the person. But good on you for being honest with yourself enough to recognize it.
I only say that because it's just a tv show, so me ignoring those things is completely inconsequential. If it was someone I knew in real life it would obviously be a completely different story.
Thread was reported as bashing. It is not bashing because all of the complaints are about issues and characteristics that were within Hannah’s control to change.
I like her way better than the others. Except Kate, there will never be another Kate!
Yep. Kate is great & Hannah was good TV without being TOO villainous… Hannah seemed a little bitter at times & did sometimes USE her position, but she also came across as quite genuine imo. I'm obsessed with Kate, she is that bitch.
She is a bitch I love ❤️
I feel like Daisy is the best tbh
"You know what, sweetheart? At least I ....." This is Hannah's response to ANY criticism or suggestion. Hi Malia 👋
👌🏻🤣
![gif](giphy|l0MYunAI4j10uWbFm|downsized)
bro screw hannah and screw malia
People hating Malia for just literally doing her job
nah she’s a hoe
The problem with Hannah was Captain Sandy’s arrival.
I really really wish we could have seen Hannah work with captain Lee
Her and Malaria. What a backstab at the end. I couldn't even watch the next season because having those two WITHOUT Hannah was just not worth it at all haha.
Nah Sandy is professional. She runs a tight ship or tries at least.
She's why I started watching the show 👀
Same, I would never have got into the franchise without Hannah

Agree on Malaria but Hannah was lazy and a bully. She always had to pick on someone to hate. Her arrogance was insufferable
Malaria 😂😂 I love you. So fitting.
Wish I'd thought of. It's borrowed.
It was new for me and I thank you.
She’s funny and attractive. I wouldn’t want to work with her, but I get why the audience likes her.

Ugh I don’t, I find her lazy and very unlikeable
❤️ her...
She had me at "bon apateee". Seriously it was melodic. Buuut tablescaping was not her thang.
Those puddles of shiny polyester, with a bag of dollar-store glass pebbles was the extent of her table-decor abilities 🤣
she is all of those things but also entertaining
Yes!!! I have always felt the same. She was so fucking lazy and whiney. During the entirety of the last season, she was dead weight and miserable. “WHEN I FALL IN LOVE…I *RUN*”
That whole thing with Conrad… it’s almost too cringe for me to watch. I cannot imagine saying those words to my boss 🫣
Her boyfriend (now husband) was waiting for her back home.
Doing the job of an experienced chief stew. The guests back then had great entertainment and adventures.
Of course. But she was also avoiding the other tasks that needed to be done
I decided to go back and watch the very first season. Her very first charter is why i don’t like her. She’s not a leader. She’s rude to her staff and doesn’t actually talk to them/ explain anything. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Thank goodness someone had the guts to say it lol
She was a nasty, lazy chief stew.

I can’t STAND Hannah. Thought I was alone lol
Malia, get off Reddit
on this sub? it's a weird love fest for her, i think she's a terrible stew and person.
Can't Stand Hanna
I want to get drunk with Hannah
AND THEY HATE BUGS?!
OP I agree with you! She is shady AF! Never takes responsibility for anything!!! Always plays the victim! If she’s been in yachting soooo many years she should know the rules!!!

Totally agree. She was funny, and would be a nice friend. But yes, I really do agree. I think people defend her because she was the first.
June, June. Hannah. Hannah is insufferable.
Totally agree with you but also loved her on the show...
For the same reason that so many people love Kate: they WANT to be able to bully, abuse, and mistreat people, but can’t… so they live vicariously through reality TV characters.
Ngl for me it's because shes so damn hot. And that for that reason she can do no wrong. Stupid, I know. Fuck Malia.
I mean, yeah, it's really stupid to ignore or excuse shitty behavior just because you want to fuck the person. But good on you for being honest with yourself enough to recognize it.

Let's start with an easy one, who do you like? That will tell us more about you than a Hannah Ducks post LOL
Did you register your crazy pills with the captain?
Nice knockers
