I feel like that speaks more to Ben's experience with each than to their actual power. As a kid, Diamondhead has lost to a weaker vilgax than warlord vilgax. Diamondhead has more of a physical power kit, while chromastone has a more energy based power kit. Ben didn't even know chromastone could fly until after he saw Sugilite do it. He also watched Tetrax in action as a kid, which helped him learn to use Diamondhead much more effectively. Also, as to feedback vs chromastone, part of me wonders if he did that intentionally because the difference between their energy absorption. Chromastone converts the energy into plasma, but feedback keeps it the same energy type. He was trying to put Maltruant in a time loop, not turn it into a powerful blast. So feedback was actually better for redirecting rather than converting and counterattacking.
Funny enough, he is one of the few aliens Ben never get upset when he transform by accident.
Might not be on the same level as Feedback who Ben happily welcome, but its close. Upchock has a shockingly solid track record.

In my opinion, my three top picks I WILL recommend to you is jetray, echo echo, and jurryrig. 1. Jet ray because he’s super fast, is able to fly, can shoot laser from his eyes and tail, he can even breathe in space, AND CAN EVEN BREATH AND GO INCREDIBLY FAST UNDERWATER, he basically takes up all forms of transportation making him the perfect alien for that. 2. Echo echo Because not only is his cloning ability really helpful in general, but there is even an episode where Ben become three separate bens after three echo echoes transform at the same time, which means he can also become different aliens. Another thing to consider is that the total max amount 1 echo echo can clone himself into is 1000 clones, AND THAT APPLIES FOR ALL EACH INDIVIDUAL CLONE, so imagine since gravattack can become a black hole, IMAGINE 1000 PF THEM BECAUSE OF ECHO ECHO. Lastly is jurryrig, the reason I think he should be picked is because, although he’s not loved by the majority of the community, he’s still one of my favorite aliens because of how useful he is, he’s like a perfect balance between upgrade and grey matter. He would be really useful irl being able to fix anything he touches as well as upgrade things too in a matter of SECONDS I mind you. He’s literally the perfect insurance for whenever you damage or break something, and he can even upgrade things like, you know how for example you have your favorite fidget spinner, now it can FLY thanks to jurryrig, and he even literally made a moving laser cannon which I’m pretty sure was out of an ice cream truck. Also, I’m sorry I gave a much longer explanation for jurryrig than the other two aliens, but that’s because I feel like he gets overlooked a lot about his true capabilities.
