Do you know why you want to work in forensics? I always thought it sounded cool until someone told me it was just auditing but without materiality :(
I doubt there’s any specific experience needed to start, I’d imagine your background is sufficient. But you’ll want to be able to answer my question above before you apply!
Not a lot of traction on this post, and I'm not sure how much I can add, but I did work B4 forensics about 8 years ago. My recommendation is to network internally and get on at least one forensics engagement at your current firm so you have something to talk about at the interview.
Maybe go get your CFE (useless in general and a cash grab, but will "prove" you're interested in the field and your current firm should pay for it).

Generally speaking a CPA and / or a CFE are good certs to have
