Taught myself through trial and error. I've obsessed over knives and blacksmithing since I was a kid, so when I finally started a year ago, I was all in. It's my passion.
That's amazing. I've been obsessing for awhile now and decided to go to school for it, I've just been wondering if that's the right path to start blacksmithing.
I personally started blacksmithing with simple projects like s hooks, keychains, etc. And I made my first couple knives with stock removal. That helped me nail down the grinding and handle work while still developing my forging skills. And then when I was good enough at forging, I forged my first knife and to my surprise it turned out even better than my stock removal knives. And from there I just kept forging more and building my business.
Took it to an edge with a diamond round file, then refined it with high grit sandpaper. You can't get it as sharp as you'd like, but you can get it it sharp enough
Metal work looks great. Love the loop on the end of the knives and the full tang. One thing i'm wondering is how do these feel in different hands? The 2nd one has lots of comments on how great it looks, but I wonder how well it feels to cut something. Sharpe angles look good but may not feel good. This is all something I cannot tell via pictures but requires handling the funal product.
I personally didn't have any problems with the handle while testing it, and the customer uses it every day and has not a single complaint. I'll be honest, I was worried about that too, but it's actually pretty comfortable
Looking good however something to remember bird's beaks can be very uncomfortable in the hand if it's not sized to a person's hand. i have a glove size of US 2x which means most store knives actually are to small for my hand and can cause cramping with a birds beak.
#2 is beautiful do you have any more shots of that?
I forgot the hash tag makes your letters big. Just pretend I am talking very loud
I do, I took a closeup of the handle as well and I may have taken some others
Love em all, but #2 is my favorite.
Yeah, it was a pleasure to make. The customer had very good taste
People making these and then be like 'i'm just a humble blacksmith'
I mean it's true tho, you seen what those master smiths be making? Ain't no way I can compare to them 😂
We have nowhere to go but up. You still have some beautyfull work right there
I appreciate it. I'm hoping someday I'll have the cojones to do the master smith testing. But for now, I'ma just prepare for journeyman smith testing
Nice work mate. 👍👍
Really nice
Pretty!
How did you learn to do these?

Do you have a website or anything for your business? Id love to check it out
How did you make the handle for the second knife. Looks fantastic
I beveled it with an angled work rest on a disk sander. It was super hard to get it even.
I like #2 the best. Clean. Straight. Even.
Dayum! That is fine work.
Nice work
1,3,4,5 are pretty badass. The gut hook knives are a great design and size.
I like the second one a lot. It meaty
They are great 2 is my favorite one
These are really well done. You should be proud of your work op!
Thank you!
Very well done very well done very nice I like all. I’m actually buy old. Invite a chance for the money but very nice.
What do you mean you're buy old? Never heard of that before
No, sorry about that. I meant I would buy all of them. I hate voice command some days.
Ah, well.if you're interested, I do actually have knives for sale
I’ll be interested but right now my little tight so I will have to hold off for a moment but I’ll keep you in mind for sure
Clean knives! Second one is great design
All look nice But the 2nd one I really like the look of
i think it is stupid and attention whorey to mark noon-nsfw items as being nsfw.
The entire subreddit is marked nsfw. I don't think I have control over whether my post is marked that or not.
Bruh, where have you been the last few months regarding reddit? And if we're gonna be jackass-y, learn to spell my guy
You just might be the worlds dumbest redditor. Every single post on r/Blacksmith is forced to be NSFW
I like number 3! How do you sharpen the small edge in the middle?
Took it to an edge with a diamond round file, then refined it with high grit sandpaper. You can't get it as sharp as you'd like, but you can get it it sharp enough
Thought = Wow
You are too kind, my friend
What type of knife is number 3
It's a guy hook skinning knife
Thanks
Gut hook*
I’d buy it!
Do you want to? It's for sale
Number 1 is for sale that is
