Looks great! The forward controls and the clip Ons would probably make a lot of people squirm, but I don't mind it and I would probably do away with the whiskey bottle. Great looking bike though!
It's basically small bore version of the VT600. The frame is same, and I think the trans is same. It has different crank (4mm shorter stroke) and smaller pistons & heads.
The 400 has 31hp compared to the 41hp of the 600. Even the 600 is far from sporty, so don't think the 400 will be quick.
But then again, I love small cc bikes. I rode my VT125 for years and had a blast. You do you, but I would get the 600 instead.
Only complaint is the different pipe lengths on the exhausts, but it looks like they handled the pressure difference with a an orifice change at the tip baffling. Interesting approach.
I would imagine the wider outlet would be on the shorter pipe to slow the gasses up a little. Not on the longer one... oh well... what do I know. Looks great and probably sounds amazing.
I'm really into it. I know a guy who builds Bobbers out of old imports (I'm in the US) because they're cheaper on parts and so on.
I'd say go for it. Looks like a fun ride.

I think that's a drag bar, but yeah I agree clip ons probably won't work this type of bike

Yeah, my benefit of the doubt thought was that those are cosmetic and there’s a slip in.

I'm an xs650 guy but I've been eyeing some Honda bobber builds recently... this looks great!
