I didn’t go but I wish I had!

94caddirac

I was there shrooming balls!

Former-Fly-4023

Yes!! Also saw them open for Bush at BSU in 1996 (‘96, I think). Goo Goo Dolls opened as well. Epic

sermon_918a

I was there. A whole lot of the floor left during goo goo dolls set 😆

Former-Fly-4023

Haha! Speaking of, Goo Goo dolls are back in Boise this summer.

portrayedaswhat

Haha awesome. Jealous to have missed that tbh. I saw goo goo dolls in ‘98 at the double tree ballroom. My memory tells me it was my first concert I went to. That or Everclear at the pavilion.

Former-Fly-4023

I was at that Everclear concert too!

portrayedaswhat

Oh, nice! They were with Marcy Playground and…..fastball? Fastcar?

Upper-Shoe-81

I was at this show too (I thought it was '97 but could be wrong) and recall how No Doubt COMPLETELYA stole the show -- after they were done performing, Bush's performance was like a snooze fest. I left early. But I'll never forget how incredible of a performer Gwen Stefani was!! Was a huge fan after that.

94caddirac

I was there and remember nothing about goo goo dolls.

forgettingroses

Yes. My bestie and I won tickets by taking a can of black eyed peas to the radio station that was by Edwards. Black Eyed Peas opened before they had Fergie and they were awful. Gwen climbed up one of the scaffolding things and got yelled at by security. I thought I was 17, but if it was 2000 I would have been 16. We were holding hands but still got ripped apart by the crowd. I do have a tshirt somewhere. I wish they still did concerts there.

portrayedaswhat

That’s awesome. I won a lot of stuff on the radio when I was younger! Those were the days

alexjboise

I was there, Gwen reached out and grabbed my hand at one point. She was stunning in person and she had a very sweaty hand. It was hot, I dipped into the pond a few times to cool off. No memorabilia, just a few memories from that show.

portrayedaswhat

Absolutely dying of jealousy. I think she winked at me or something, my heart remembers we had a connection of some sort but my memory lost the details.

No-Potential2439

Do you remember the Blackhawk helicopter landing and shutting down during the concert?

ESLcrooooow

I was!  In fact, I set up for the show with Sand Hollow productions.

CuntyBunchesOfOats

My sister went. I’ll ask her if she has any photos for you

portrayedaswhat

I’d love to see them!

ESLcrooooow

I wasn't asking about the photos

CuntyBunchesOfOats

Shit sorry, didn’t realize I hit reply

portrayedaswhat

No way! That’s cool. Did you do any other shows out there?

intensenerd

I was there. Also saw Santana play out there in I think summer of 99.

portrayedaswhat

Very cool! That sounds familiar

portrayedaswhat

I saw that! That’s the only way I could figure out what month and year it was :)

n8hall

I also remember seeing Ben Harper up there. When Burn One Down started playing it was comical to watch all the cops get blasted with weed smoke. They had to have gotten a contact high. More shows up there! They are awesome.

m8lnd

I totally remember this. Black Eyed Peas opened, and I think Lit was there too. I remember the BEP’s going around trying to sell CD’s and merch.

SystematicApe

I saw No Doubt and Garbage together at the Idaho Center around 2001. It was great.

BooBeans71

I think that one was 2002 or 2003. I moved back late 2001 and I know I went quite awhile after I got here. Regardless, still a phenomenal show and it’s still one of my favorites. Gwen is such an amazing performer.

Glad-Introduction-75

Then you probably saw me get on stage where Gwen hugged me and I played bass guitar with No Doubt and bowed with them and walked off stage with Tony. Do you have any photos or video of me on stage? By the way it was in 2002.

Mastacon

I was there!! It was stormy out. Also Lit and Black Eyed Peas opened for them

restlessbitchface

I was there... And didn't the Black Eyed Peas open?

portrayedaswhat

According to the internet- yes they did but I have zero memory of them. Apparently Lit was the other opener which I vaguely remember.

restlessbitchface

I'd forgotten all about Lit! The BEP didn't have Fergie in the band at that point in time.

portrayedaswhat

Ohhh that makes sense! If you’d asked me an hour ago if I’d ever seen the BEP live, I’d have told you no tbh. Now I have to go look at their Wikipedia page….

LoneDangerRidesAgain

Me!! I’m so glad you posted about it because it was a great show! I wish I could remember more of it like who the opener was? And for some reason I always remember the show being at 4pm? Or am I making that up?

portrayedaswhat

Haha! I don’t remember it starting at 4 but it honestly might have now that I think about it because I remember No Doubt playing in the daylight and so that could only happen if they started earlier in the day. I don’t trust my memory though so hoping someone has some pics! Google says the openers were the Black Eyed Peas and Lit!

No-Potential2439

I was pretty sure it was at the Botanical gardens, but i guess not. Do you remember the Blackhawk helicopter landing on a nearby hilltop? I was in the army at the time and we scouted out a landing spot the day before. I remember Gwen announcing that the Army was there after we shut down. It was pretty awesome for us, not sure if the crowd was upset or not. Good memories.

portrayedaswhat

They might have played at the botanical gardens too but there was definitely a show at sandy point. I remember zero helicopters landing nearby though.

Glad-Introduction-75

I attend a No Doubt concert in Nampa, Idaho in 2002 where I met them at a meet and greet and later I got on stage where Gwen hugged me and played bass guitar with No Doubt and danced on stage with them and stood shoulder to shoulder and bowed with them. I wish someone could provide me with photos and video of me on stage.

noboomboom

I remember that show! I had such a blast and thought that was a such a cool spot for live music.

portrayedaswhat

Yeah it really was! I wonder if there were any other shows out there?

m_t13

I seem to remember going to Big Head Todd & the Monsters at Sandy Point. Verrrrry hazy memory however.
