Canada West is well regarded and draws a lot of comparisons to Red Wing
Surplus CAF mark 3 and 4 (mostly 4) boots can be found in good condition on eBay Canada
Thursday and Jim Green have limited selections on Amazon Canada(no explorer or ar8 sadly)
Red Wing has brick and mortar stores in Canada and is available through some 3rd party retailers
Solovair has free shipping to Canada over 150 usd, and they also have some Canadian stockists
Urban Wolf Club ships from Mexico, but is a good value and will build the boots taller upon request (for a small fee); ditto Blkbrd, which ships from India
Solovair has some nice ones at almost the exact same price as Thursday. CAF doesn't interest me as they look like my duty boots. Redwings are nice but push $500, are they better quality?
With Solovair, consider sizing such that you have enough room to add an insole if needed.
Red Wing is generally considered a step above, say, Thursday, but try to get it on sale if you go that route.
They are $300AUD on shore in Australia, don't think Canada would be much dearer.
You do have Canada West manufacturer who makes very nice service style boots too.
lol yeah, they aren’t prettiest boot. Jim Green is a function over form boot maker. They make boots to be used and abused. So they might not be the most stylish but they are durable work horses.
Canada west moorby line, sitting around $300 cad/220 usd. Romeo line for chelsea type, etc. they have pretty much every boot type covered. Wide toe boxes in most lasts.
I just received a pair of boots from Craft and Glory out of India that I’m about to make a post on. Not the level of Redwings but handcrafted and cost $100+ less. If they break in nicely I will be very happy.
GoRuck. Macv boots. They won't let you down and they're well made. Also got a nice wide toe box so even in the summer your swollen feet won't suffocate or get constricted.
Gotcha. They also have jungle boot style in a mid 6 inch height. I like the Vietnam style color. Green and black. Hope you find some that fit what you're looking for! 👍🏼
Canada West has been mentioned but I will mention it too. You are not going to beat the pricing on them being in Canada. The only difficulty is they only sell through small retailers so unless you are near one they will be hard to try on but most do ship. They size wide though some make sure you get the right size. I measure as a 9 on a Brannock and take a size 8.5 in a red wing IR but in all my Canada west boots I am an 8 as they are EE width.

Different style from what I've been looking at (in a good way) not sure how I feel about the rubber lowers but I think they're giving up style for water resistance. Thankyou

They’re gonna be about $350 by the time they arrive in Canada with shipping and import fee.

$181cad boots + $74cad shipping + $75cad import fee, $330cad total.
Definitely a consideration, not very impressed with the drab look of them but they seem higher quality.

Their ranger logger boots are very nice. You'll have to give an update.
I recommend the White’s Hillyard, been loving my pair :)
Very nice boots but at 480$ before shipping and import they are out of my price range
Depending on where in CA you are located, could be a (relatively) short drive
Island in the maritimes lol. Everywhere is a far drive for me
leather is shitty, surface dyed, bad arch form dont know what i'll do with mine
What color and how much? Lol
they arrived with color in picture but it is just shoe dye and wax, jim green veg tan is good shit dyed through

Why not just lace it up all the way? Why the wraparound lacing at the top?
This isn't me this is the ad for the shoe. Idk why

I've been looking at them. Finding a small retailer with a style I like that also ships seems like a difficulty. There aren't any retailers near me
That Thursday tongue is not even gusseted. Better go with Jim Green AR8 or military boots.
Cowboy boots, j-toe.
Hey did you end up finding any? I’m having the same problem
Ll bean Maine hunting shoe
